Cathal Dennehy is a freelance sports journalist. His writing has featured in the Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Runner’s World, World Athletics, Spikes, and the Guardian. In 2019, Cathal won the Irish sports journalist of the year. In this chat we touch on the state of play in athletics at the moment, Cathal’s career as a freelance journalist, how the sport retired his promising life as a runner, and the possibility of a return of Jumping The Gun.
