In this episode of Foundations of Leadership we are talking all about making decisions. As a leader you have to be able to make decisions each and every day. A lot of times we spend our time consulting with others vs. consulting with God. We rely on the approval, the pat on the back and validation of others. It often stumps our decisions and we get stuck. It then leads to overthinking, overanalyzing and being overwhelmed. We get in our own head about the decision we need to make. Let's talk about how we will know when to move forward and what we need to do ensure we are on track. Our decision needs to honor who we are and leave us with peace so we can do what God has called us to do! In this episode of Foundations of Leadership, we explore what it means to be a good steward in every area of our lives. God is looking for leaders who are faithful and recognize with stewardship comes responsibility. When we realize we are never alone when we are leading the weight of what we are stewarding isn't as heavy. In our own strength we can't but with the Lord we can. When we partner with the power of the Holy Spirit then we can steward what God has called us to with courage and confidence. The foundation of leadership is stewardship—faithfully managing what God has entrusted to us for His glory and the benefit of others. Great leaders never stop learning. One of the most important foundations of effective leadership is the willingness to remain teachable. Being teachable means recognizing that you don’t have all the answers, being open to correction, listening to wisdom, and allowing God to use others to help shape and help you grow. In this episode, we explore what it means to lead with humility and a heart that is willing to learn. God is clear and tells us that he opposed the proud and shows favor to the humble. Your next level of leadership may require you to learn something new, change your perspective, or receive wisdom from someone else. You can’t grow if you’re not willing to learn. Leadership isn't about having all the answers—it’s about being a person of influence who is willing to face problems, seek God for wisdom, and become part of the solution. Being a problem solver means learning to pray before reacting, gather the facts before making decisions, seek wise counsel, stay focused when distractions come, and be willing to involve others in the solution. As leaders, we will encounter problems in our homes, workplaces, churches, businesses, and communities. The question isn't whether problems will come; it's how we will respond when they do. It starts with a partnership with the Holy Spirit and asking God for the wisdom to solve the problem. God can use you to be the solution to a problem that others have only been willing to talk about. In leadership we don't just talk about the problem we are problem solvers. Your leadership may begin when you stop asking, “Who is going to fix this?” and start asking, “Lord, how can You use me?” In this series we will continue to talk about the foundations of leadership so stay tuned for next week's episode. What happens when you pray, believe, wait—and God answers differently than you expected? Sometimes we have a specific picture of what the answer should look like, but God sees what we cannot see. His ways and his thoughts are higher than ours. In this episode, we’ll talk about surrendering our expectations without surrendering our faith. When God doesn’t answer the way you thought He would, it doesn’t mean He has forgotten you or stopped working. It may be an invitation to trust Him more, trust His timing, and His plan—even when you don’t understand it. Go back to your track record with God. Remember how he has always been there for you. Sometimes the greatest act of faith is not carrying more—it’s surrendering to God. In this episode, we talk about what it means to truly surrender your worries, fears, plans, and circumstances to God. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. You were never meant to carry everything on your own. Surrendering doesn’t mean you are giving up; it means you are trusting God with what you cannot control. When you release your cares into His hands, you make room for His peace, His direction, and His strength. Learn to give it to God, trust His plan, and resist the temptation to pick back up what you have already surrendered. What you place in God’s hands is safer than what you try to carry in your own. Let's continue where we left off last week. In Ephesians 6:10–18, He provides everything we need to stand firm through the full armor of God. In this episode, we'll take a closer look at each piece of God's armor—the Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit. Once you realize you are fully equipped for every battle you will walk in peace and trust God even more. God is so gracious that he gives us the strategy we need to face every spiritual attacks that comes against us. The battle isn't fought in our own strength, but through God's power, His Word and in prayer! Prayer is key and we make it our life line in order to walk in victory. Every day we face spiritual battles, whether we recognize it or not. The enemy seeks to distract, discourage, deceive, and weaken our faith, but God has not left us defenseless. In Ephesians 6:10–18, He provides everything we need to stand firm through the full armor of God. In this episode, we'll take a closer look at each piece of God's armor—the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness and the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace, Together, we'll discover what each piece represents, how it protects us spiritually, and why putting on the armor isn't something we do occasionally—it's a daily choice and a must. We'll also explore how spiritual attacks often come through fear, doubt, temptation, offense, anxiety, and discouragement, and how wearing God's armor equips us to respond with faith instead of fear. In a world filled with distractions, opinions, and constant noise, God's voice is often heard most clearly in moments of stillness and surrender. Your heart is one of your greatest treasures, and not everyone deserves unlimited access to it.
