Episode 245 Lindsay Clancy was a middle-aged suburban mother who murdered her 3 children then attempted suicide in January of 2023. Her 2026 trial was noteworthy not just because of the holdout juror whose guilty vote resulted in a mistrial, but also the online feminist response that excused the crime and blamed the husband. Thousands of women recorded themselves and their children in Tiktok videos with the caption "Same, Lindsay." In this episode of the Removing Barriers podcast we discuss the murder and the defense's claim that Lindsay was suffering from postpartum psychosis and should not be criminally responsible for the murders. We also try to understand the psychotic online response from an alarming number of women, as well as the media's horrid treatment of the holdout juror simply because he didn't reach the verdict they all wanted. Episode 244 When Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf's altercation ended in murder at a track meet in Texas in 2025, it seemed to be a forgone conclusion that it would attract national attention because of the difference in skin color and the fact that these boys were of high school age. What we got in addition, however, was even more concerning. While grappling with the reality of increasing rage and degeneracy in our youth, we had to wrestle with the fact that the ideological echo chambers of yesteryear had morphed into rabid angry support groups for the intersectional victim no matter what heinous crime they had committed. Karmelo Anthony was the innocent black angel who was just defending himself against an angry white giant and to suggest otherwise meant you were an evil racist worthy of the same fate as his victim. Episode 243 Series: On the Mission Field - 32 In the Basque Country of northern Spain, Missionary Daniel Darling and his family are faithfully serving the Lord. Saved at the age of four, Daniel Darling went on a missions trip to Bilbao, Spain as a young married man. He returned to the states, but the Lord was already hard at work on his heart about returning there to serve. He and his family obeyed the Lord and are now living in southern France near the Spanish border of Basque Country. There are many cultural and religious elements that play into his work of sharing the gospel; some elements are significant barriers to salvation while others are might be considered mere inconveniences. One thing is consistent, however: there are many souls in that country that, despite the permeation of Catholicism into almost all areas of life, have no idea what the church really is and how Jesus' sacrifice on the cross made full payment for sin. Daniel's work there seeks to change that. Episode 242 Missionary Marco joins us on this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast to discuss John Perkins, a pastor described at the time of his death as one of America's unsung heroes for having sought to heal the scourge of racism through the ministry of the church. He was raised by his grandmother after the death of his mother and the abandonment of his father and came to faith as an adult, at the invitation of his son. From that point on, having experienced overt racism firsthand and making the Christlike decision to forgive, Perkins threw all of himself into ministering to the people around him. He moved out of the affluent area he was living in to a less desirable "ghetto" area. All aspects of his ministry involved real action to combat socio-economic issues that accompany the spiritual issues the people faced. At first glance and in light of recent trends, we may be tempted to dismiss his work as the social gospel or woke theology, but Missionary Marco argues that our churches may be able to learn a thing or two about missions from Perkins, and that Christians should be challenged to give more of themselves to the Great Commission. Though there are certain aspects of Perkins' theology that Missionary Marco would not agree with, he joins us to help shed more light on this relatively unknown minister and the good he's done to address some of the ugly realities in U.S. race relations today. He not only declared it way back in the Garden of Eden, but He also faithfully brought His promise to fruition when He came to the earth as a babe in the manger, then was crucified and resurrected after 33 years of a perfect life lived in our stead. In this episode, we continue in the How Were Your Barriers Removed series with an interview of Simon Chu to hear how God saved him. Born in Hong Kong but raised in the U.S. after living in Nigeria for a year, he grew up in a nonreligious home with no Christian witness. His father was agnostic and his mother followed Buddhism. Though friends in his childhood professed to be Christians, their lives gradually suggested otherwise and provided no real witness to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. In spite of this, the Lord had already been working in his heart, and eternity was a persistent question at the back of his mind. Join us and hear how God used imperfect people using imperfect evangelism efforts to bring Simon to a saving knowledge of Christ, and how God changed him into a faithful soulwinner as well. Episode 239 Bonkers - 18 Muslims try to shut down Christian evangelism, a former lieutenant governor commits murder-suicide, scientists just can't let go of millions of years despite evidence, and a sad generational case in Trinidad all remind us of the desperate need for evangelism and ministry to the lost all across the globe. Political and social commentary can be made one way or the other, but Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the only truth that can defeat Islam, nihilism, evolution and millions of years, and the destructive power of sin. He was buried and was raised on the third day, and He has promised that whosoever believes in Him has eternal life. So when we talk to our family, friends, and neighbors about His power to save, we can share real hope and true help. Sometimes it results in hard truths that are counter to our current culture; we can expect to be ignored, mocked, or perhaps even attacked for it, but we simply cannot leave the world to itself without the Savior. The least we can do is try to reach them with the gospel because this world has gone bonkers. A small gospel seed was planted in his heart as a teenager when a group of Christians were witnessing at a mall, but John did not receive Christ as his savior until he was an adult. Having gone along with the cultural tide of a life fueled by the flesh, the Lord opened his eyes to the emptiness of the world and brought him to a saving knowledge of Him. Episode 235 On this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we sit down with Dr. Phil Stringer and Dr. Jim Scudder to discuss arguable the most polarizing nation in the world today: Israel. In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, the political right in the United States has in many ways splintered (some would even argue it has fractured), and the issue underlying this change seems to be Israel and the U.S.' staunch support of it. The disagreement can even be found in the church today. Where before, Christians of every stripe would be unified on the support of Israel, today we find that a substantial and growing number of Christians no longer view Israel favorably and are opposed the our current stance of steadfast support. What has brought about this change? Is it the war Trump waged on Iran? Perhaps the events in response to the October 7th attacks? Could it be that the Information Age has made it so that many can study the events of the past surrounding Israel for themselves? Or is this a spiritual war whose roots run long and deep? Dr. Phil Stringer is no stranger to the podcast and he is joined by his friend and co-author Dr. Jim Scudder to discuss how they believe the anti-Israel stance is the result of the spiritual war against God and His people, and how Christians across the board are lured into adopting an anti-biblical stance. Episode 232 Dr. Phil Stringer joins us on the Removing Barriers podcast to discuss whether dispensationalism is biblical. Critics say it is merely a theological fad of the 20th century that we must abandon for the frameworks of early church fathers. Increasingly, dispensationalism has come under intense scrutiny as a conduit to wrong theology, wrong eschatology, and even wrong politics. Are the critics right? What is dispensationalism and is it really just a new-fangled framework popularized in the U.S. by  Moody, Scofield, and Darby? What are the arguments for and against it? Is this a scenario where good Christian folks can just agree to disagree, or is it a salvific issue that demands immediate clarity and dogmatic adherence? Episode 231 While discussing Donald Trump, Joy Behar, the ever-productive source of insane speech, claimed that Jesus never called Himself the Messiah. She said that with a straight face, full conviction, without hesitation or doubt. When rebutted by her cohosts, Behar declared that it would be narcissistic for anyone to declare themselves the Messiah, even if, as in Jesus' case, you really are. Trump's narcissism was the context for this discussion on The View, but it reveals something deeper about what Behar and the entire panel thinks of who Jesus is and what He came to do. Who, exactly is Jesus Christ? Is He the promised Messiah? Do we have to believe that Jesus is the Messiah in order to be right with God? What happens if we don't?
