Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! The church in America has become a circular firing squad, and Christ wrote a letter to a church like that. LOCK SHIELDS | The Seven Letters, Part 1: Ephesus Revelation 2:1-7 explained: Christ's letter to the church of Ephesus, the first of the seven churches of Revelation. Ephesus tested every teacher and hated what Christ hates, yet had abandoned the love it had at first. With the Apostle John at Ephesus, the Baptists of 1677, and Vienna, 1683. Preached by Pastor Jason Perry at KrossFarer Church, Johnson City, Tennessee, on the Lord's Day, October 18, 2026. "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent." (Revelation 2:5, ESV) DAILY ACTION Make one repair this week. Name the brother you have fired on. Call him voice to voice. Own your part. Ask his forgiveness. First, Christian nationalists at war with each other while the horde is at the bottom of the hill. Then Vienna, 1683, told from inside the wall: the baker who held two months with a musket he did not know how to fire, Kara Mustafa's army under the bastions, the two prayers on either side of the valley, and Jan Sobieski and the winged hussars coming down the Kahlenberg. Then the man three valleys over from you who is on that wall tonight, and a walk through THE FORGE.   "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you!  Krossfarer Church, Lord's Day, October 4, 2026.  The first service. I never wanted to plant a church. I wanted to run a men's ministry. For almost six years, my family looked for a church we could belong to, and what we found was a wasteland. So we built what we could not find. Christ already wrote His verdict on the churches in seven letters, Revelation 2 and 3. We hold every church up to them, this one first: 1. Crazy and Corrupt 2. Cold and Dead 3. Consumer and Common 4. Charismatic and Emotional 5. Cowardly 6. Careless 7. Crowd and Coddling  TEXT: Matthew 16:13-19; Revelation 1:12-20; Revelation 2 and 3 (ESV) PREACHING: Pastor Jason Perry If you have never turned from your sin and trusted Christ, reach out this week. If you have gone cold, gone soft, or gone missing from your brothers, come back to the table.  Next Sunday: the seven letters begin with Ephesus, Revelation 2:1-7. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! A cave, a crownless warrior, and a praise song that refuses to wait for better circumstances—Psalm 34 hits different when you know where it was written. We walk through David’s flight into enemy territory, the choice to act insane to survive, and the moment humiliation turned into a testimony that still trains souls under pressure today. The result is not a lecture but a field manual: fear God, not man; guard your tongue; turn from evil; do good; seek peace and actually pursue it. We start with our three-battle framework—humility before God, deliberate pursuit of Christ through Scripture and prayer, and locking shields for one another—then dive into the psalm line by line. You’ll hear why praise is a weapon, how the fear of the Lord disarms every lesser fear, and why righteous character is not “soft” but combat readiness for the soul. We confront the hard truth that the righteous face many afflictions and pair it with the promise that the Lord delivers from them all. Along the way we trace the prophetic thread, “not one of his bones is broken,” and see how Christ fulfills the psalm as the righteous One who redeems His people. If your week feels like a cave—noisy, tight, and heavy—this study offers a way to stand: disciplined speech, steady pursuit of peace, and a testimony that strengthens the shield wall around you. Expect practical takeaways for your home, habits, body, finances, and fellowship, all anchored in the nearness of God to the brokenhearted. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review to help more people find a field manual of hope under fire. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! The wall stood tall, but the people were still cracked inside. That’s the tension we unpack as we walk through Nehemiah 9–10: a city secured by stone and a community finally brave enough to face its sin, tell the truth out loud, and sign their names to real change. We trace how public confession, fasting, and the reading of the Law uncovered the true breach—hearts divided by compromise—and how God’s steadfast mercy became the ground where courage could grow. We revisit the arc from exile to rebuilding and show why renewal always follows a pattern: hear the word, confess the breach, pledge obedience. From intermarriage that pulled affections away from God to Sabbath neglect and debt slavery, the issues feel uncomfortably current. The turning point comes when leaders lead: a written covenant, sealed with names, that commits the community to purity in marriage, Sabbath discipline, worship in order, financial first fruits, and accountability that actually loves people toward holiness. Then we bring it home. We map those ancient vows to seven modern battlefields—faith, family, fitness, fundamentals, finances, fellowship, and fidelity—and get practical about what obedience looks like this week. Read and pray with purpose. Lead your home with confession and courage. Train your body to serve others. Sharpen skills that make you useful. Tithe and budget to dethrone greed. Lock shields with faithful friends. Keep your word when it costs. Finally, we challenge you to write a household covenant: what ends now, what begins today, what you will guard and build, whom you will serve, and how you will honor Christ—signed and posted where you live. If this moved you, subscribe for more warrior-minded teaching, share it with a friend who needs strength, and leave a review so others can find the show. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! The room gets quiet when we stop clapping and start counting the cost. We speak directly to veterans who signed a blank check and to believers who feel the pull to do more than offer thanks. The theater has changed—no longer soil and flags, but souls and eternity—and we lay out a mission brief that is clear, courageous, and grounded in scripture. We start by honoring veterans as image bearers who have practiced greater love, naming the weight they carried and the wounds they still carry. Then we define the ethos that guides our movement: readiness from Luke 22, perimeter from Nehemiah 4, armor from Ephesians 6, tactics from Jude 23, and orders from Matthew 28. The result is a posture that is meek yet unshakable—power under control, deployed for the weak and the needy. We address a hard truth about church culture: baptisms without discipleship leave sheep to the slaughter. The fix is biblical and practical—teach obedience, build real fellowship, keep comms open, and measure success by transformed lives. You’ll hear a step-by-step SOP designed for the veteran community but fit for every street: identify the prisoner, close the distance with compassion, open the Book, and escort them into the shield wall of church and small group. We set rules of engagement to protect both rescuer and rescued: go two by two, same-sex care for sensitive issues, meet in public first, maintain sobriety, escalate wisely, and involve authorities when safety is at stake. We name the real enemy—deception that blinds minds—and refuse to treat people as targets to hate. They are captives to rescue, and success looks like eyes opened, lives transferred from darkness to light, and steady disciples who then rescue others. We close with seven battlefields—faith, family, fitness, fundamentals, finances, fellowship, and fidelity—because a resilient life sustains a relentless mission. If you’ve laid down your sword, this is your call to repent, reload, and report for duty. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! Ever felt like a misfit who loves hard truth but can’t stomach church-as-costume? We open the barn doors to real fellowship—worship that feels like family, work that tastes like sweat and soup, and a field guide for finishing what God puts in your hands. From a First Light sunrise to piratey psalms, we frame the longing for a tribe around Nehemiah 6, where enemies switch from open attack to subtle sabotage. We walk through the Seven Battlefields—faith, family, fitness, fundamentals, finances, fellowship, fidelity—as a deliberate plan for godliness you can live Monday through Saturday. Then the text gets tactical. The walls are up, the gates aren’t hung, and the enemy pivots: ambush invites in the plain of Ono, open letters leaking slander, and hired prophets urging safety by sin. Nehemiah’s answer is a masterclass in leadership under fire: I cannot come down. That is false and invented. O God, strengthen my hands. He guards his calendar, keeps his replies short, audits his counselors, and finishes the mission in fifty-two days so even his critics admit God did it. Along the way we share the texture of our home church and farm life—Reformation Day plans with wholesome costumes, music that actually moves, and a standing invitation to lock shields on 44 acres. The big takeaway is simple and hard: don’t trade duty for optics or obedience for comfort. Mark your section of the wall, hang your gates, and let your fruit preach. If you’ve been searching for a community that prizes Scripture, courage, and everyday usefulness, you’ll feel at home here. Subscribe, share this with someone building through opposition, and drop a comment: what gate do you need to hang next? Your story might be the spark another warrior needs. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! Ever tried to rebuild your life while the mockers get loud and the rubble never ends? We take Nehemiah 3–4 off the page and into the home, turning a spirit-breathed project ledger into a clear plan for families to restore order, courage, and joy. We start where worship leads the work, then we draw a wall map for modern life—marriage, kids, home order, finances, media, hospitality, and safety—and define “doors, bolts, and bars” you can actually inspect. No vibes, just standards you can see and celebrate. We walk gate by gate, translating ancient landmarks into daily drills. The Sheep Gate anchors our mornings with Scripture and prayer. The Fish Gate turns our trade into witness. The Old Gate keeps doctrine stable with catechism. The Valley and Dung Gates build grit through confession and ruthless purging of sin and time-wasters. The Fountain and Water Gates guard our lifelines with psalms, silence, and nightly reading. The Horse Gate trains readiness: fitness, combatives, and trauma skills. The East and Muster Gates set hope and accountability with fasting and inspection. Each practice is small and doable, yet together they raise a wall that holds. Opposition follows a script—mockery, rumor, plots, and force—but Nehemiah shows the path: pray, post a guard, and keep laying stone. We show how to throttle fear by limiting rumor loops, setting a truth channel, and naming rally points. The heartbeat is Nehemiah 4:14: remember the Lord and fight for your family by name. Half the team builds; half stands ready. Tools in one hand, a sword in the other, we plan short pushes, celebrate halfway wins, and pre‑stage for the long haul. Prepared is not panicked; it’s steady, hopeful, and useful. If you’re ready to repair breaches at home, reclaim your routines, and make courage contagious, this one gives you the checklist and the charge. Subscribe, share with a friend who’s rebuilding, and leave a review to help other families lock shields and advance. Need Prayer? Send us a text on how we can pray for you! A late start turned into a necessary reset: we faced a hard weekend head-on and traced a path from fear to prayer, from prayer to planning, and from planning to courageous action. Anchored in Nehemiah 2, we explored how a servant under authority asked boldly, prepared wisely, and moved with conviction—then translated that pattern into our homes, churches, and streets so we can guard the vulnerable without losing our warmth. We unpack how providence animates planning, not replaces it: Nehemiah’s letters become our lawful steps—permits, policies, and a simple 911 script. His timber becomes our tools and infrastructure—medical kits with tourniquets and Dechokers, reliable comms, door and window hardening, and clear SOPs for carry, storage, and dry practice. His night recon becomes our family walk-throughs—entries and exits, safe room selection, rally points, and a realistic map of local legal constraints. Along the way, we keep two rails in view: spiritual and kinetic. We pray by name for neighbors and leaders, dedicate the threshold with Scripture, and then schedule training, book a class, and run micro-drills that build competence without stoking fear. Opposition predictably jeers, just as Sanballat did. So we answer briefly, set boundaries, and get back to work—online and offline. We rally builders at home with a short family council, share a testimony of God’s provision, and restate a simple mission: protect, provide, proclaim Christ. Hospitality remains our quiet strategy against despair; a warm table paired with wise watchfulness changes a block more than a rant ever will. By the end, you’ll have a checklist across faith, family, fitness, finances, fundamentals, fellowship, and fidelity—small steps that move from the heart to the hands and push darkness back on your street. If this helped you steady your heart and strengthen your hands, follow the show, share this episode with a friend who needs a plan, and leave a review with the one habit you’ll start this week.
