#288 From Armour to Action with Paula "Porscha" Burgess of Beyond The Maze
2026/09/30
I'm doing something a little different with you this week. I recorded part of one of my Empress Circle coaching calls with my client Paula "Porscha" Burgess of Beyond The Maze, and what started as a coaching session turned into one of my favourite conversations on this podcast. Paula used to feel far more at home in rooms full of men than rooms full of women, race car driver energy, all armour, absolutely no interest in "flowers in the hair." Then a last minute swap saw her walk into one of my retreats instead of the men's retreat she'd already planned to attend, and I watched everything shift for her. She's candid with me about the guard she walked in with, the moment she realised there was no judgement in that room, and how six months on, she's gone from my Empress Circle to running her own business transformation event.I also get her to walk me through Business By Design, her brand new event on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland this November. It's a small group, one on one facilitated experience built for the ADHD brain, where you audit your business, build and actually implement a 90 day plan on the spot, walk away with your own AI assistant, and even write a chapter for a book. If you've ever sat through a conference and gone home with a folder full of ideas you never actioned, this is the opposite of that, and I genuinely wish I'd had this offered to me earlier in my own business. This is Structure, Strategy and Support in action, and it's a reminder that sometimes the armour you think is keeping you safe is the very thing keeping you from the room you actually belong in. #287 Beyond the Book: Co-Author Spotlight with Tash Johnston from Farm Angels
2026/09/29
Welcome to a brand new series I'm kicking off with you, Beyond the Book. You've read her chapter, now hear her story.First up is someone I adore. Tash Johnston, chapter eight of our sixth book, The Rich Lady Revolution: The Embodied Era, and co-founder of Farm Angels, the charity that's supported Australian farmers through drought and disaster for 12 years, raising over $30 million along the way. What most people don't know is what put her on that path. As a young girl, Tash watched her mum break down on the kitchen floor when the banks were circling their family farm, and later learned her parents had a suicide pact if it all came crashing down. That's the seed of everything she's built since. We also get real about what it cost her. The breakdown behind the Australian of the Year Award. The imposter syndrome. The perimenopause she didn't even know she was in. And how retreats, community and a friend who wouldn't let her hide brought her back to herself, all the way to co-authoring her chapter and training in breathwork. This is Self Belief, Support and Spirituality in action. #286 Building Sustainable Growth with Fractional GM Asseneth Quintero
2026/09/17
Real relationships are the new currency, and this episode proves it. In this instalment of The Rich Lady Revolution, we sit down with Asseneth Quintero of Impactfully Small, a fractional general manager who has spent her career helping small to medium businesses grow across industries and countries, including scaling one business from seven million to twenty five million dollars, while growing the people inside it just as much as the numbers.Asseneth shares what it actually looks like to build a one team, one goal culture, why breaking down silos matters as much as any strategy, and how her work now gives leaders access to senior, trusted support for major projects and sustainable growth, without the cost or commitment of a permanent hire. We talk about the hidden cost of doing it all yourself, why asking for help is responsible leadership rather than weakness, and how normalising support is one of the biggest levers against burnout. This is Structure and Support in action, because sustainable growth was never meant to come at the cost of your health, your family or your peace.Ready for more profit and peace in your own life and business? #285 Part 2 Education vs Embodiment: Nervous System Leadership and Coming Home to Yourself with Lucie from Socially Constructed
2026/09/13
Money doesn't create character, it amplifies it. In part two of this conversation, we pick up right where we left off with Lucienne Miller from Socially Constructed, going deeper into embodiment, nervous system safety and what true wealth actually means once you stop measuring it in dollars alone. Lucie shares her own path from severe postnatal illness and OCD to building a career in brain friendly leadership, trauma informed workplace design and positive psychology, shaped in no small part by raising four kids as a military family who move around the world. Together we unpack Rich Lady Rule Two, take messy but aligned action, and Rich Lady Rule Three, fulfilment first, finances follow, and why neuroplastic change needs discomfort, but never at the cost of safety. This is the difference between being stretched and being flooded, and why co-regulation, in a community, in a retreat room, in a conversation like this one, is what makes the stretch survivable. This is what we call Self Belief and Support in action. Redefining rich was never about choosing between profit and peace, it was always about having both. #284 Part 1 Education vs Embodiment: Nervous System Leadership and Coming Home to Yourself with Lucie from Socially Constructed (Part 1)
2026/09/13
We've all done the seminars, read the books, and nodded along to the podcasts, so why does it still feel like nothing has actually changed? In this episode of The Rich Lady Revolution, we sit down with Lucie from Socially Constructed, who works with corporates, militaries and major firms on regenerative leadership, wellbeing and nervous system science, to talk about the gap between knowing something and actually embodying it. Lucie explains why Western culture treats embodiment as unsafe, why knowledge feels so much safer than feeling, and how trauma can make the body feel like unfamiliar territory. She reminds us that sensations and emotions have to be learned and named before we can work with them, and she is refreshingly honest about the danger of quick fix nervous system claims. This is a slow, deep, soul level conversation about learning to come home to yourself, at your own pace. This one is part one of two, so keep an ear out for round two coming soon. This is the Self Belief and Spirituality Checkpoints in action, because real change was never going to happen in your head alone. Ready for more profit and peace in your own life and business? #283 Who Are You Anyway? Owning Your Story with Author Sarah Rosse
2026/09/13
In this episode of The Rich Lady Revolution, we sit down with Sarah Rosse, a mother, storyteller and now published author, who turned one of the hardest seasons of her life into her first book, Who Are You Anyway? After her son's mental health crisis in 2023, Sarah began journaling her way through fear, shame and an identity shift that so many mothers go through but no one warns them about. She shares how choosing to own her story, rather than hide it, became the thing that helped other women feel less alone. This conversation is proof that your hardest chapter can become someone else's turning point, and that real connection starts the moment we stop performing and start telling the truth. #282 Get the Facts: Family Law Support, Representation and Empowered Decisions with Katherine Smallshaw
2026/09/13
Not knowing where you stand is its own kind of stress. In this episode of The Rich Lady Revolution, we sit down with Katherine Smallshaw, Senior Associate and Director at Pullos Lawyers on the Gold Coast, to talk about the truth of family law that most of us only ever hear about from Google, a friend, or an ex. Katherine works across parenting, property and domestic violence matters, along with some of the most complex work in family law, including trusts, tax issues and high risk parenting cases. She talks openly about the emotional weight of walking clients through processes that are often delayed, and often unfolding on someone's hardest days. Her message is simple, and it matters. Get the facts before you get swept up in fear. Knowledge changes the way you make decisions, even the hard ones. We also cover how to reach Katherine's firm for that first conversation, why you are always allowed to change legal representation, and what good representation actually looks like. Someone who listens, tailors their strategy to you, and thinks through the practical implications before you have to ask. If you or someone you love is facing separation, or simply wants to understand where they stand, this is the episode to share. This is what we call the Support Checkpoint in action. You were never meant to navigate the hardest seasons alone. Ready for more profit and peace in your own life and business? #281 Roots, Branches and the Whisper of Your Business with Marama Carmichael
2026/09/03
Lovely lady, we're deep into season four, The Embodied Era, and today's guest is someone I connected with the moment we sat down together at Curated Circle. Kindred spirits, instantly. Meet Marama Carmichael, founder of Oracle Tree, a marketing agency that refuses to be cookie-cutter, and honestly, one of the most aligned conversations about business I've had on this podcast. The night the house burnt downMarama shares the defining moment that changed the entire trajectory of her life and business. She was running a natural therapy centre, working ridiculous hours for no money, chasing the bragging rights of an eight-room premises, when a house fire took everything she owned. Standing outside in the rain that night, she made a decision that became the seed of Oracle Tree. Having a business versus being self-employedWe get into the real difference. If you're exchanging time for money with no one else doing the work, you're self-employed, and there's nothing wrong with that. But a business runs without your constant time and input, and that transition doesn't happen by flipping a switch. It happens by trusting the right experts, with your guidance. You can outsource the expertise, but never the alignmentThis might be my favourite line from the whole conversation. Marama unpacks the difference between abdicating responsibility to an expert and staying the visionary who holds the "why" while someone else handles the "how." The whisper and the wounding, translated into marketingWe talk about how Marama's process mirrors the exact language I teach around the whisper, the wounding, and listening to what feels true in your body before you listen to what a coach or agency tells you to do. The Oracle TreeMarama walks us through her full framework. Roots as your strategy (who, what, why), the trunk as your brand (how you turn up), branches as your channels, leaves as single pieces of content, and canopy as the consistency across all of it. If you've ever wondered why hiring five different experts for five different channels leaves your business feeling disjointed, this is why. Cut off the dead branchesMarama's advice for any channel you're not actually using, stop pouring resources into it. A dead branch just hangs there and drains the tree. Go back and think about your own tree. If something feels out of alignment, ask yourself whether you've stopped listening to the whisper and started giving your power away to someone else's decisions instead of your own. 🌳 Oracle Tree - book a genuine strategy call👉 https://oracletree.com.au/apply-for-a-strategy-session/ 📱 Instagram, Facebook and other socials: @oracletree 📚 Free e-books and resources available on the Oracle Tree website under the Resources tab 📩 Sign up to the Oracle Tree newsletter for an upcoming three hour workshop on branding, AI and lead funnels 💛 The Rich Lady Revolution Membership - weekly accountability, rich conversations and a community of women who get it, from $149/month with no lock-in👉 https://www.those2sisters.au/membership
#280 Find the Bullet, Not Just the Wound with Teresa Loo
2026/09/03
We are deep into Season 4, The Rich Lady Revolution - The Embodied Era, and today's conversation is one I've been looking forward to for a long time. My guest is Theresa Loo, The Enlightened Pharmacist, and if you've ever felt like the medical model gave you a prescription but never actually got to the root of what's wrong, this episode is going to change the way you think about your own health. Theresa is a holistic and integrative pharmacist who bridges mainstream medicine with real prevention, and she brought the receipts, the research and the heart to back it up. The medical model doesn't cure; it managesTheresa unpacks why medication so often treats the symptom while the actual cause - diet, lifestyle, inflammation- stays untouched. Her analogy of cleaning a gunshot wound but forgetting to remove the bullet is one you won't forget. The chip hugTheresa gets vulnerable about her own relationship with savoury snacks, and how health coaching taught her that reaching for chips wasn't really about the chips. We talk about why the food industry has hijacked our physiology, and why abstinence, not moderation, was the answer for her. Belly fat isn't benignWe talk about the bucket of inflammation, the hidden drivers like infection, poor sleep and stress regulation that quietly build for years before a diagnosis ever shows up, and why "I'll deal with it later" is often the moment the point of no return starts. Test, don't guessTheresa shares her own wake-up call at 50, choosing a Nutristat test over a pair of diamond earrings, and discovering heavy metal toxicity she had no idea was there. We talk about why personalised testing, not one-size-fits-all supplements, is what actually moves the needle. Perimenopause, HRT and the sandwich generationThis is the conversation so many of us needed. Theresa breaks down why cortisol, not just sex hormones, is often the missing piece in stubborn weight gain, why the health tactics that worked in your 20s and 30s stop working, and why menopause acts as an amplifier for issues that have been simmering underneath for years. The identity shift nobody prepares you forWe go beyond the physical and talk about what menopause does to a woman's sense of identity and value in a culture that doesn't honour this transition the way other cultures do. This part of the conversation is for every woman who's wondered, quietly, whether she's going crazy. She's not. How to make an informed decision, not a group-think oneTheresa's parting wisdom on HRT, weight loss medications and any big health decision: get clear on why you're attracted to that approach, what you're actually trying to solve, and weigh the risks and benefits with someone who can help you see it clearly. No amount of money is worth it if you are sick, inflamed or in pain. If you are not actively optimising your health, you are not a wealthy person, no matter what the bank balance says. 🌿 The Enlightened Pharmacist - book a complimentary 20-minute health chat to look under the hood👉 https://theenlightenedpharmacist.com/work-with-me/ 🎙️ Listen to Teresa's own podcast, The Enlightened Pharmacist, wherever you get your podcasts 💛 The Rich Lady Revolution Membership - weekly accountability, rich conversations and a community of women who get it, from $149/month with no lock-in👉 https://www.those2sisters.au/membership
#279 The Events Queen, In-Person Magic and the Elegant Exit with Jo Spehr
2026/09/02
Lovely lady, welcome to Episode 279. We're deep into season four now, The Embodied Era, moving away from cookie-cutter courses and really asking ourselves how this all actually feels in the body. And today I brought on a woman I've been wanting to sit down with properly since the moment I felt her energy across a table at a Lux dinner. Meet Jo Spehr. She directs Empire Events, and if you've ever wondered who's behind the scenes making a room full of people feel like magic happened, it's women like Jo. She calls herself Tinkerbell crossed with a spreadsheet, and honestly, that's the most accurate job description I've ever heard. From government EA to Events QueenJo takes me through her journey, nearly two decades in admin and executive assistant roles, working on events for up to 5,000 people including the Commonwealth Games, before she finally admitted to herself which parts of her job she actually loved. We talk about the identity she had to release (coaching and breathwork) to make room for the one that was actually hers. Why AI can never recreate a roomWith the global events industry set to hit $2.5 trillion, we get into why in-person connection is becoming more valuable, not less, in a world where nobody knows what's real online anymore. Trust is harder to build through content alone, and Jo explains why getting in a room with the right people is going to be a make or break for service-based businesses. The two questions that shape every eventBefore Jo builds anything, she asks what the attendee is meant to feel and experience, and what the actual business objective is. We talk about the difference between an event that just looks good and one that's engineered for transformation and return on investment. Burnout, boundaries and self-abandonmentJo gets honest about the season she burned herself out trying to prove herself to people she looked up to, and what her body had to teach her about holding boundaries while working in an industry that runs on intense, high-emotion cycles. Selling through relationships, not marketingWe dig into why Jo's own event, Mic Drop, has grown every month, not through funnels or ad spend, but through leveraged relationships and genuine reciprocity. If you've been over-relying on marketing and under-investing in real connection, this part is for you. The elegant exitI finally get to unpack this properly with someone who gets it. The one question I ask myself before I decide whether to keep talking to someone in a room: would I invite this person to sit at my dinner table? Jo and I talk about how to leave a conversation gracefully when there's no values match, without guilt, and why women in particular were never taught how to do this. Be interested, not interestingJo's parting wisdom for anyone walking into a room feeling nervous. Stop performing and get curious about the person in front of you instead. If you're not feeling a little bit of fear walking into a room, you're probably not stepping outside your comfort zone enough. Feel it, go anyway, and notice what happens. #278 The Truth Behind Real Wealth with Brett D. Scott
2026/08/27
We've graduated from redefining rich into the embodied era, taking everything we've learnt and actually living it in our body, our brain and our life. And to kick this season off properly, I brought a very special guest into the space. Meet Brett D. Scott. Metaphysical mindset coach, mentor, speaker, author, fellow emcee, and the man some people call Superman (fair call, honestly). Brett and I have crossed paths at more events than either of us can count, and every single time, there's been this instant, grounded, no b******t connection. So I sat him down and we just let the conversation go where it wanted to go. This episode is the result.Taking the mask off, Brett opens up about the difference between how coaches appear on stage and what's actually still being worked through behind the scenes, and why saying "I don't have my shit sorted" out loud is one of the healthiest things either of us do. The subconscious mind runs the show. We get into the numbers. Your conscious mind processes around 40 bits of information a second. Your subconscious is running somewhere between 11 and 40 million. Brett breaks down why real change has to happen below the surface, not just in the positive thinking, reframe it, 3D layer most of us stop at. Falling off the wagon isn't failure, it's the trigger I share how I flipped the "I fell off, I'm shit, I can't do it" spiral into something my clients now genuinely look forward to, because the fall became the catalyst to get back on, not proof they'd failed. Redefining rich, again Brett unpacks why he moved his business from Be Positive Mindset to Freedom Coaching to Supercharge Freedom, and why being rich was never just about the Lamborghini in his old Zoom background (though it made a cameo). We talk about wealth as a portfolio across money, relationships, self, family and purpose, not a single number in a bank account. My own rock bottom moment I go there. The gold medal that made me happy for two weeks. The corner office. The Bulimba house. The moment I turned down the move to Sydney and realised my entire identity had been built on overachieving and surface success, while I was quietly falling apart underneath it. Finding your fire, not your purpose Brett walks through the idea from Think and Grow Rich, that you need a definite purpose and a burning desire to achieve it, and why purpose isn't something you sit down and decide. It's something you build, one piece of kindling at a time, until you're standing inside a bonfire you didn't see coming. Discernment and the elegant exit Brett teaches event energetics, and shares his go-to filter for every new connection: does my body feel safe around this person, and would I invite them to sit at my kitchen table? We talk about spotting an agenda, protecting your own fire, and why not everyone gets past the b******t radar anymore, and that's a good thing.Follow your truth. There is no wrong road, even the ones that feel like it, because every road teaches you something that eventually brings you back to yourself. Connect with Brett D. #277 She Records, Start or Monetise your Podcast
2026/08/27
If you've had that little whisper telling you to start a podcast (or you started one, hit a wall, and let it dwindle), this episode is for you. I'm pulling back the curtain on how I built mine from my lounge room, kids fighting in the background, husband mowing past the window, into a genuine business asset. And I'm showing you exactly how to do it too, wherever you're starting from. I recorded this one for two types of women. The one who hasn't started her podcast yet. And the one who has, but can't work out how to turn it into income. Either way, sit down, I've got you. Every beginning is hard, mine included. I share the concept I coined years ago, the sticky start, and why recognising it (instead of reading it as a sign to quit) is what got me, and every client I've taken through this, to the other side. Why my podcast was never about the podcast I talk about the woman I became through 280-odd episodes and four seasons of showing up, and why that's the real prize, long before the money starts to move. How I actually monetise it Real numbers, no fluff. From direct sales to the amplification package I built for paid guests, I walk you through exactly how I turned a free podcast into a revenue channel, not just a passion project. You'll hear from women in my world who went from petrified to published, including one who's now interviewed over 60 guests and turned her episodes into a blog, a newsletter and a referral engine that runs itself. The two things that will stop you Fear and Tech. I name them, I normalise them, and I give you the fastest way through both, because I've been there myself. #275 Put Your Hand Up: Breath, Grounding and the Courage to Send the Email with Bart from Connections Interactive
2026/08/11
This episode is proof of what happens when you put your hand up. My guest today is Bart, and our journey together started with pure serendipity. His girlfriend couldn't make one of my speaking events, so he took her ticket. He sat in a room of 50 people, and when I asked if anyone had anything to share, he put his hand up. Voice shaking, nerves everywhere, but so much courage. And that one moment set off a chain of events that led him here, onto this podcast. Because here's the thing. Bart kept taking the next step. He came and spoke to me after the event. He sent the email. He joined the Rich Lady Revolution. He said yes to the podcast. That's inspired action in motion, and it's exactly what I teach in my ACTION framework. The N stands for Now. What do you know right now that can move you one step closer to your goal? In this episode, Bart shares the vision behind his business, Connections Interactive. He's building an inclusive, nourishing community for neurodiverse people, drawing on his own lived experience with the noise that comes from within and without. His mission is to help people quiet that noise, break complexity into simple micro steps, and rebuild healthy dopamine through real connection instead of doom scrolling. We chat about: The moment Bart put his hand up in a room full of strangers, and why being seen and witnessed changes everything Why courage and vulnerability are the foundations of creating any movement Connections Interactive and Bart's vision for supporting the neurodiverse community His three accessible grounding tools: breath, hydration and tactile grounding The "minute of creation" and how micro habits create flow Why profit without peace is pointless, and peace without profit is a hard way to live Believing in yourself when life gets hard, and just taking the next little step Bart also walked me through his grounding practice live on air, and honestly, my shoulders dropped, my jaw released and I could suddenly hear the birds. The magic is available to all of us, every moment of every day. It costs nothing but the commitment to practise it daily. If you've ever felt the nudge to send the email, make the call or put your hand up, this episode is your sign. Want to learn more or connect with Bart? #274 Get Out of the Day-to-Day: Systems, Sanity and the Seven-Minute Unhinged Voice Note with Katie Kirsopp
2026/08/11
Two minutes before I hit record on this episode, I got a call from the school sick bay. My son had hit his head, and there I was, mid-mum-mode, about to interview one of the most organised women I know. Honestly, it could not have been more fitting. Because this episode is all about building a serious business around real life. The kids, the school runs, the chaos, all of it. My guest today is Katie Kirsopp, a fractional COO who goes into the back end of businesses and finds the gaps you can't see because you're too deep in the day-to-day. I met Katie at our very first Top Shelf Entrepreneurs retreat, then reconnected at Curated Circle in Melbourne, and I knew I had to get her on the podcast. Katie's journey started when a client told her she was a terrible VA. Turns out she wasn't a doer, she was a visionary. Now she helps coaches, consultants and creatives streamline their systems, restructure their teams and reclaim their time, so the business runs without them glued to their phone. In this episode, we chat about: What a fractional COO actually does, and how it differs from a VA or OBM The automation that quietly stopped working for three months because it was nobody's job to notice How Katie juggles multiple clients, kids' sport and solo parenting seasons (spoiler: there's no secret sauce, just radical acceptance) The "seven-minute unhinged voice note" and why every leader needs a safe place to vent Why leadership is lonely, and how the right support changes everything Building systems around YOUR leadership style, not someone else's template Why solid personal foundations matter more than any SOP Katie and I also get real about mum guilt, being terrible cooks (boiled eggs count as dinner, right?) and why you have to be okay with missing out sometimes. If you've built a successful business but you're still the one answering every message and checking your inbox seven times a day, this one's for you.
