Center Stage – The Pros and Cons of Male‑Centered Culture
2025/12/19
What happens when male-centered values shape our culture, relationships, and even our faith? In this episode, we explore the myth of Achilles and Patroclus, the dangers of male-centered friendships, and how androcentrism affects both men and women today. Drawing from Greek mythology, feminist critique, media studies, and scripture, we unpack the costs of centering anything other than God—and the call to build a world where all voices are heard and all people are pursued.
The Silent Struggle — Unpacking the Male Loneliness Epidemic
2025/11/03
Male loneliness is a specific form of emotional and social isolation that disproportionately affects men. It’s shaped by cultural expectations, rigid gender norms, and structural barriers to connection. And it’s not just about solitude—it’s about feeling unheard, unacknowledged, and emotionally cut off.If you would like to see the photo please go to www.ochaopt.org and see the photo and read more stories and please remember you are seen and you are loved.
Don’t Look Away—The Cost of Numbness in a Traumatized World
2025/10/07
Today’s episode is not easy. It’s about the images we scroll past, the headlines we mute, the suffering we’ve normalized. From Gaza to Congo to ICE detention centers, we’ve been shown visually terrible things—and instead of being moved, we’ve become numb.
We’ve seen so much suffering that we’ve started calling the numbness wisdom. We’ve baptized our avoidance and called it peace. But silence isn’t holy—it’s harmful.”
But should we continue to look on in terror? What does it cost us to look away? And is there ever a case for protecting our peace by turning it off? Let’s talk about it.

It's not something that you should run away from. It's a skill that you can learn and it's a skill that you should absolutely have to be a thriving and functional adult. So let's talk about it. Let's talk about how to explore it constructively, what it means

Can People Change?
2025/01/25
This is a hard
argument to make as I do try to advocate to the betterment of the world. But if
you bear with me I just want to place the argument that without divine
intervention or societal intervention people don’t change. Theres this inherent
nature we all have, that to some capacity we have to change, we have to change,
but there isn't much room to change nature. The concept that people
fundamentally do not change over time is a view supported by the idea that core
personality traits and behaviors are deeply ingrained and resistant to
alteration. Despite life's experiences and external influences, there are
compelling reasons to believe that individuals remain fundamentally the same.
Beauty and the Beast- Real Love
2024/12/31
Tale as old as time, beaty and the beast or shall we say Belle et la Bête. Beauty and the beast is a fascinating story that tackles, sabotage, arranged marriage, jealousy revenge and the idolization, oh you don’t remember any of this from the Disney version, of course you don’t I'm talking about the first adaptation by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont
My main thought is the topic of true love is mistaken for a whirlwind of fluffy feelings but I think this story shows that love is logical, love is patient and love is sacrificial.
An Ubantu Thanksgiving
2024/11/26
Next time you sit down to a Thanksgiving feast, remember the incredible
story of the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag. It's a tale of survival, cooperation, and the spirit of gratitude that continues to inspire us today. Remember Sara Hale who fought for this to be a holiday so we can stop life for a second and be grateful. And remember one thing you can be grateful for is that you are seen and you are loved

That's where Stoicism comes in. This ancient
philosophy, founded in Greece around 300 BC, offers a practical framework for
