Jake Owens has done about everything someone in the music industry can do – a 20 year industry pro, he has multiple gold and platinum records, along with 10 #1 singles, and has seen his songs streamed more than three billion times! Jake was open and engaging as we discussed (with George on from California!) life transitions, finding healing, and achieving peak performance.  At 44 years old he is continuing to evolve and works at accepting his authentic self, whoever that is now! For him one of the metaphors of life that transcend the sport is golf. A great golfer in his own right, he explains his life philosophy with a story about an approach to a green with a dog leg and a large water hazard. The safe way is to hit alongside the water, although that will require at least one extra shot for sure. He says no way – GRAB THE 3 WOOD, HIT OVER THE WATER & GO FOR THE GREEN! Never play it safe and lay it up! He talks about grabbing his 3 wood over and over in life, taking risks and always going for the green! Life is about proving it to yourself, not others. Did I step up and give it my best? That is his search. And that is what he is doing with his new album “Dreams to Dream”. Trying some new things. Recorded in LA, with a new sound and a new producer, and self-released. Evolving, accepting himself for where and who he is at this stage in his life, and exciting about taking some risks to see what is true and alive for him right now.  He shares his life as a single dad and living as a person in recovery/sobriety. WELCOME BACK HIDDEN PEARLS PODCAST! What an interesting year we have had. Took some time to regroup, get a dog, Emma is growing a baby (third trimester!!!!), and recover from an injury. The NFL Salute To Service game for the Niners is this weekend vs the Seattle Seahawks. This is a very special game for us and everyone involved as we honor those who have served our country. We have special military / veteran guests attending the game this week and one of them is joining us on the podcast. In this episode Bruce sits down with Lieutenant Colonel John Park, who is in year 23 of a distinguished career with the United States Marine Corps, and is planning to retire in June of 2025. Joined by his wife Megan, they tell the story of him maneuvering, surviving and thriving through the Marine Corps over all these years. John enlisted in the Marine Corps following high school after a great experience in football because he loved the teamwork and camaraderie. John also wanted to serve his country and chose the Marine Corps. Before he had finished Boot Camp, 911 struck and within a month he was deployed. Working his way up through the non-commission ranks, he eventually finished his college degree and was accepted as a commissioned officer. John now serves as Commanding Officer of the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 11, at Miramar Air base in San Diego. We are proud to have John and his family joining us this weekend at Levi's Stadium, along with 4 of his closest friends, also long-time Marine Corps members. Kundalini Yoga is a technology used to bring healing, love and ownership to those who practice.
