Mr. Q released the first rap song from Canada in 1979 from Toronto, Ontario on Monica's Records. The song 'Ladies Delight' takes shots at Sugar Hill Gang and the song 'Rapper's Delight' and may also be the first recorded diss record of all time. Mr. Q would go on to release a few more rap songs before returning to r&b and retiring as a gospel artist returning to rap a lot throughout all of it. He recently dissed rapper Drake for what he believed to be theft of his record label started in the 90s O.V.O. Records - Our Very Own. A label started for his family.
