We don't have a problem sharing the things we love with other people—our favorite TV shows, restaurants, snacks, etc.—but when it comes to sharing Jesus... As we continue our sermon season, "The Way," Pastor Jon Chasteen reminds us of some of the very first words we see Jesus speak to His apostles: "...I will make you become fishers of men." We pray this message reminds you why you fell in love with Jesus and inspires you to share that love with the people around you! These days, it's harder than ever to steward our bodies well. We have technology that does most things for us and we have too much access to the world in our pockets. Yet, our bodies are temples. But how do you take care of a temple? In this practical message as part of our "The Way" sermon season, Pastor Jon Chasteen brings a message on temple care in the Old Testament and how that correlates with the care of our bodies. This message is not to shame or blame; we pray this message is an opportunity for just you and the Holy Spirit to talk about what caring for yourself looks like. "Joy is not just a feeling—it's a practice." Oftentimes, we think being a Christian means being sorrowful and melancholic over all the troubles of life. But Scripture shows us that it's important for us to practice joy! In this continuation of our sermon season, "The Way," Pastor Jon Chasteen brings us a message on the importance and impact of joy. We pray this message encourages you to intentionally invite joy into your life! "You can't fight an enemy you refuse to acknowledge." Not everything is a demonic attack; some things are the consequences of our actions. However, the Bible is clear that there is an enemy seeking to kill, steal, and destroy, but we have the authority to fight back. As we continue our sermon season, "The Way," Pastor Jon Chasteen teaches on the authority we have as Christians in a very real spiritual battle. Jesus has the final victory always, and through this message we learn how to partner with Him in that. We pray this message ignites something in you and reminds you of who you are in Christ! When was the last time your Bible reading time made you uncomfortable--made you feel convicted? Many of us read the Bible to find comfort and to confirm our own ideas and plans for our lives. We skip over the parts that hold a commandment that we're not doing or even actively doing the opposite of. Pastor Jon Chasteen continues "The Way" with "The Way of the Word," a timely message that reminds us of what the Bible is really for and how we can come to accept it and let it transform us. We pray this message is convicting yet inspiring in the way you read your Bible! So often, we want God to move or speak in loud, spectacular ways, but He tends to be best seen and heard when everything is still and quiet.  In the practice of silence, there's no task to hide inside, no image to manage, no audience—except for the One who knows it all—and that can be uncomfortable. That's why Dr. Rhonda Davis, in continuing our sermon season called "The Way," brings a powerful word on the way of silence and how meaningful it is in our lives. We pray this message encourages you in the way you look for God in your life! As we continue our sermon season, "The Way," there is something important to note: you cannot practice the way of Jesus by yourself. Last week, we talked about the Way of Work. But God does not call us to work all the time; God commands us to take a Sabbath. We must learn to work hard and rest well. Pastor Jon Chasteen continues our sermon season of "The Way" with "The Way of Rest," a message that is timely in a culture obsessed with production. We pray this message is a reminder that you are not a productivity robot; you are a son or daughter of God! If our lives are a living testimony, then the way that we work matters. When it comes to working, most of us are likely just going through the motions, making sure we're just doing a good-enough job to keep going. But according to Colossians 3, God calls us to more than just "good enough." In this convicting message by Pastor Jon Chasteen that continues our "The Way" sermon season, expect to be challenged in the way that you view and value your work and the things that you do in your day-to-day life. This week, take a moment and reflect: if Jesus were in the room, or if Jesus is who I was doing this for, how would that change my work? In the Christian walk, the way in which we get to our destination matters. As we continue our "The Way" sermon season, Pastor Jon Chasteen reminds us that before we can follow the way of Christ, we must first give up our own ways. This powerful message teaches us what it really means — and what it costs — to truly deny ourselves. If you want to make your life look like Jesus' disciples in Scripture, you want to check out this message! "If someone followed you around all day, what would they say you're practicing to become?" Pastor Jon Chasteen kicks off a new sermon season called "The Way," where each week will be a deep dive on the daily rhythms of a Christian--that is, the way we live out our faith every day outside of the usual weekly church services. This first week, Pastor Jon brings a powerful introductory message on how our practices reveal who we are becoming. We pray this message helps you on your own day-to-day walk with Christ!
