Our Father
2026/09/29
YouIn “Our Father” S5 / E73 of I Took a Right Turn: We open up once again praising God for all things. Our weather report talks about the continuing rain which continues to slow down the harvest and flood the Promised Land. We continue to speak about our burden for the lost, pleading with anyone who will listen to accept Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We also talk about some of the challenges facing us physically and in the work of the ministry, asking for prayer and letting everyone know they can contact us through our website www.itookarightturn.com with prayer requests. And if anyone needs a Bible let us know and we’ll send one to you.
In the musical portion of the Podcast, we begin with an old Pentecostal tune, Send it on Down, a song which should be a rousing cheer for every believer every day. Next, another old standard that about the joy we have because of the light He’s given us, I’m Going on With My Jesus. Then a song that gives us hope for every day because of the changes Jesus makes in our lives, There is None Like You. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs: The Shortest Prayer I Know.
We want to invite everyone to send us your miracle stories. Everyone who does will receive one of Robert’s books. We’re very excited about this segment because we feel God has guided us into this expansion of the Podcast Ministry. Just go to itookarightturn.com and click on “Contact” and use the message system to submit. Everyone who does will receive one of Robert’s books free of charge and autographed, if they share their mailing address.
After this turn to God’s holy Word exploring Matthew 6:5-15 which is one of the many passages where Jesus taught us about prayer. He reminds us that prayer is supposed to be a deeply personal experience between the believer and God and not just some kind of formulaic performance.
Then Robert reads another poem from his second book of poetry, Floating Through Time, “Prayer.” Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.
All of Robert's more than forty books are available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible through Amazon. As

Fooling Yourself
2026/09/15
In “Fooling Yourself” S5 / E 71 of I Took a Right Turn: We open up talking about the weather here in the Promised Land, we’re moved out from under what our weatherman has promised is this summer’s last Heat Dome with extreme heat and humidity. And now the Latter Rains have come. It’s been raining for a few days, and it is predicted to rain every day for the next week. The other night we got 7.5 inches of rain which is extreme for our environment. We know others experience much more than that all the time, but what is normal in one place is unusual in another.
We then talk about praying for the lost and allowing God to guide into a deeper relationship with Him. We ask for prayers and remind people they can send their prayer requests to us through our website itookarighturn.com.
Our musical portion of the podcast begins with a rousing song we picked up from services at Family Worship Center; the home church of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Got Any Rivers. We follow that with an old song that has blessed generations of believers and led multitudes to Christ, Jesus Got aholda My Life. Then comes a song that came to us from our time with R. W. Schambach following the Canvas Cathedral along the Sawdust Trail, Hallelujah Anyhow. This is a song which if we can keep it in our heart will help us whenever we feel as if the battle is too hard or the road too steep. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs, one that was inspired by a time when we were conducting a Revival at Norther Arizona University, I Was a Dreamer.
Looking into God’s Holy Word we turn to Galatians 6. Robert is highlighting verse three but starting off in verse one. Here we learn about forgiveness and the practical side of doing onto others what we would have others do onto us.

Pour On The Blessings
2026/06/30
In “Pour on the Blessings” S5 / E60 of I Took a Right Turn: We open up praising God for the successful outcome of Rosalie's operation. We thank everyone for their prayers and support as we have followed God through these last few years. Rosalie is getting stronger every day and will soon be back to full health. Our musical portion of the podcast reflects the fact that this week is the 250th birthday of the United States. We begin with God Bless America, a song which we have always believed should be our national anthem. Next, an old song that comes from what Historians call the Civil War. A war that tore the United States apart and in which more American died than in all the other wars combined. This song was a marching song for the Union Armies and for many years the theme song of the Republican Party, The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Then we share a song that is always special to us because it was the favorite song of one of our mentors, Pastor Raymond Flemmons; I've Got a Feeling. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs: The Book, the Blood, and the Blessed Hope.
We move on to the “A Miracle Moment,” we share an ongoing miracle. As we've mentioned before Robert has been writing songs for over sixty years. Back in the 60s and 70s he tried to make it in the music business, but it never worked out. Then when he got saved, he put that life behind him and for the last 40+ years he has played exclusively in churches and revivals with Rosalie. But with the advent of AI he has learned to create his songs the way they've always sounded in his head. And the first song will be released on Spotify and all streaming platforms this July 4th. The song is entitled “Who Writes the Review” and it has been shared on this podcast.
