The Contingency Plan is Success with Nami Prakash
2026/10/01
Sometimes you know when your life is asking you to move in a different direction. The harder part is having the courage to answer the call. In this episode of Living Her Next Phase, Bri sits down with Nami Prakash for a candid conversation about what it means to trust yourself enough to move toward the life you believe you're meant to live -- even when the decision feels risky or difficult for the people around you to understand. They explore the thoughts and expectations that can shape how we see ourselves, including the pressure of who we think we should be. Nami shares why she no longer measures success by titles, money or recognition, and how learning to create space between herself and her thoughts changed the way she approaches her life. The conversation also explores self-awareness, emotional regulation, healing and the power of telling your own story. Nami opens up about writing Healing with Courage, bringing experiences she had carried privately into the light and realizing that she no longer needed permission to become who she was meant to be. That same sense of purpose eventually led her to make a major life decision -- leaving her corporate career to pursue her vision of The Mind Quotient full time, while raising her three children. For anyone who has ever felt the pull toward something different but wondered whether to trust it, this conversation offers a thoughtful look at what can happen when you begin listening more closely to yourself and give yourself permission to follow where that voice is leading.  Learn more about Nami: Connect with her on Instagram @coachnami or her website at The Mind Quotient Check out her book, Healing with Courage, on Amazon. The Chapter She Never Saw Coming with Mia Maugé
2026/07/27
If you've every wondered whether your best years are already behind you, this episode offers a different perspective. Perhaps it's the beginning of the best chapter yet. For years, Mia Maugé feared getting older. Like so many women, she believed turning 50 meant becoming less visible, less relevant and slowly fading into the background. But everything changed the moment she stopped fighting the aging process and started embracing it.  Today, Mia is an international model, anti-ageism activist and sought-after voice challenging the way society views women over 50. Yet, the biggest transformation wasn't her career, it was how she saw herself. In this conversation, we discuss: Why your 40s can feel so emotionally challenging and why your 50s can become your most liberating decade. The surprising confidence that comes from letting go of society's expectations.  Why saying yes to uncomfortable opportunities can completely change your life. The power of becoming more visible instead of shrinking with age. How motherhood, loss, resilience and life experience prepared Mia for the success she found later in life. So, what if everything you've been told about aging is wrong? What if your most confident, authentic and fulfilling years are still ahead of you? The Beauty of Letting Life Unfold
2026/05/19
What happens when you stop forcing life...and start listening to yourself? In this deeply reflective conversation, Bri sits down with entrepreneur and experience designer Keanna O'Quinn, founder of Sonic Sommelier -- a company built around the emotional architecture of sound, music and human connection. But this episode becomes so much more than a conversation about business. It's about intuition. Creativity. Reinvention. Walking away from safety. Trusting yourself before you have proof. And learning how to become the woman you were always meant to be. From teaching in Chicago public schools to building a luxury experience brand, Keanna shares the pivotal moments that shaped her path, the courage it took to leave security behind and why stillness may be the most powerful thing women can give themselves.  If you've been questioning your next phase, this conversation will meet you there. The Beauty Edit: Nip, Tuck, Fill & GLP-1s
2026/04/23
There was a time when aging naturally felt like the only acceptable approach to beauty. But something shifts as we get older. In this episode of The Beauty Edit, we're having an honest conversation about the modern reality of beauty for women navigating midlife -- from Botox and fillers to plastic surgery and the rise of GLP-1s. Once considered extreme, many of these choices are now seen as maintenance. At the same time, younger women are entering the conversation earlier, reshaping what beauty looks like across generations. This episode explores: the shift from judgment to understanding why "natural" looks different at every stage how beauty has quietly become medicalized what it really means to feel aligned with how you look Ultimately, this isn't about perfection or turning back time. It's about choice. After listening to this episode, visit my website and share your thoughts. I'd love to read your comments. Please rate, subscribe and review the podcast. Salina Williams: Reinvention, Loss and What Comes Next (Part 2)
2026/04/03
If you haven't listened to Part One yet, be sure to go back and start there for the full story. In Part One, we talked about Salina's upbringing, her 23-year career in mental health and how she began building a presence online that so many women now connect with. This was more than just a conversation about fashion or social media. There was a turning point. And it was deeply personal. Salina opens up about one of her most difficult chapters -- the loss of the love of her life. That loss changed everything. We talk about: Love and loss Grief and navigating life afterward The decision to walk away from a 23-year career What it really takes to start over How she's continuing to build her life with intention This is a more intimate, emotional continuation of Salina's story -- one that many people may not have heard before. Sometimes life forces a shift we didn't plan for, and in that space, we're given the opportunity to begin again. Salina's story is a reminder that even after loss, there is still room to rebuild, redefine and move forward. After listening to this episode, visit my website and share your thoughts. Salina Williams: Visibility, Vulnerability & The Life Behind The Influence
2026/03/26
There's something that can happen to many women as we get closer to fifty. Confidence can start to shift. Our bodies change. Our energy changes. And for women who have grown up in a culture that places so much value on appearance, those changes can hit in ways we didn't expect. But every now and then, you come across a woman who reminds you that none of that means you have to shrink. My guest today is one of those women. Salina Williams, known to many as Salina Sincerely, has been showing up on social media for more than a decade. What started as sharing her personal style has evolved into something much deeper -- a powerful platform rooted in honesty, vulnerability and connection. Women follow her for the fashion, but stay for who she is. In this Part One episode, Salina opens up about:  Her upbringing and early life experiences Her 23-year career in the mental health field How she began sharing her life online The evolution from fashion content to meaningful storytelling Building a loyal community of women through authenticity This is a conversation about confidence, visibility, vulnerability and choosing yourself. The conversation was so good, it had to be split into two parts. Be sure to come back next week for Part Two, where we discuss the life-changing loss that shifted everything. Different Phases, Different Friendships
2026/02/19
The friendship circle that fit you five years ago may not fit you now. As your life shifts -- ambition expands, priorities change, kids grow up, energy realigns -- your circle shifts too. Sometimes, the hardest part isn't losing people; it's realizing you no longer fit in the same dynamic. Not every friendship is meant to survive your growth. Not everyone is meant to go where you're going. In this episode, I unpack the patterns that quietly show up in women's friendships as we move through different phases of life. The subtle dynamics. The unspoken tensions. The shifts that feel confusing at first, but make perfect sense once you name them. We talk about: Why proximity-based friendships fade What happens when ambition creates distance The grief of being more invested than the other person Why some people only love the familiar version of you How to protect the friendships that truly align If your circle feels different lately, it's not random. Different phases. Different friendships. Please review, rate and subscribe.
Too Young For This
2026/01/16
Somewhere around 50, a lot of women start talking as though life is wrapping up. They stop imagining what's next. They start saying things like "I'll just ride this out," I don't want to start over," or "I've already made my friends." The truth is they're way too young for that. In this episode we're calling out the quiet shift so many women make long before they need to -- mentally winding down careers, closing themselves off socially, choosing comfort over curiosity and shrinking their lives instead of expanding them. This isn't about slowing down and it's definitely not about doing less. It's about what happens when experienced, capable, intelligent women stop leveraging everything they've learned and start living as if their most meaningful years are behind them. In this conversation, we explore: why your 50s are the time to elevate how retirement thinking can drain energy, identity and purpose why starting something new now is not starting over the hidden cost of closing yourself off to new friendships and experiences how curiosity keeps life full and engaging If you still feel capable, have ideas and sense that there's more for you (professionally socially and personally), this episode will speak directly to you. Tune in if you're ready to stop shrinking and start living this phase of life fully.
EP 31. The Life You Built vs. The Life You Want: What Happens When They Aren't the Same?
2026/01/02
There's a moment many women experience where they look around at their life and think: "This is what I worked for, so why doesn't it feel right?" Not because anything is falling apart. Not because life is horrible. But because the life you built versus the life you want no longer feel like the same thing. In this episode, we talk about that quiet, unsettling gap where misalignment resides. The kind that shows up as restlessness, boredom or annoyance. You'll hear why misalignment doesn't always come from crisis; sometimes it comes from success. You've completed chapters. You've accomplished established goals. Now, you realize that you've outgrown your life.  We explore how to recognize misalignment, why ignoring it keeps you stuck and how small, intentional shifts can change everything. If you've been asking yourself "Is this it?", this conversation is for you. Tag me after listening to this episode @livinghernextphase and share your thoughts about it. The Power of Being Still
2025/12/12
What if the most productive thing you can do is stop?  In this episode, I talk openly about why I stepped away for several months, what I uncovered during that pause and how stillness helped me regain clarity, energy and direction in my life. For women who are constantly in motion, managing careers, families, relationships and expectations, being still can feel uncomfortable, even impossible. But sometimes, stillness is the only way to hear yourself think, reconnect with what you want and realign how you want to live in your next phase. If you've been feeling bored, restless, overstimulated or quietly unfilfilled, this episode is for you. Stillness isn't about luxury, retreats or disappearing from your life. It's about intention, boundaries and making space for clarity to emerge. Tune in as we discuss: 00:00 The Power of Stillness 03:30 Navigating Life Transitions 09:22 Types of Stillness 10:10 Practices for Embracing Stillness 21:06 Finding Clarity and Direction 24:22 Intentional Living and Future Planning Referenced Resource: Next Phase Plan-of-Action Workshop www.livinghernextphase.com/poa Thank you for listening!  Rate, subscribe and review the podcast. EP 27. I Love Everything About Me with Author Fatima Scipio
2023/12/12
When a woman is on a mission to bring all of her dreams to fruition, she is unstoppable. But often, she has to set aside her personal ambitions when her family, specifically her children, need her. Her dreams become deferred; however, it's usually for a finite time. When those children are almost out of the door and on their way to the next phase of their own independent lives, she dusts off her list and begins to tackle everything on it with great fervor. Fatima Scipio is an accomplished businesswoman who has authored four books, leads a media company, runs an organization that empowers young girls and leads a flourishing career in nonprofit management. Much success has come her way, however, in the true sense of motherhood, she recalls the time that she had to set her career aside to give her son her undivided attention and ensure that she was instrumental in establishing his path to success. She wanted the honor of getting to know more about him and being very present in all aspects of his life. Author Fatima Scipio recently published her new children's book entitled I Love Everything About Me. This book is on fire and the reviews are outstanding. Parents of young girls are loving the content and illustrations that all resonate so beautifully with their daughters. Here's what we discuss during the interview: 1) Her reliance on faith to determine what she is called to do 2) Temporarily leaving her career to be more present with her son 3) Leveraging her superpowers to achieve success 4) Inspiration for writing her new children's book 5) Overcoming fears to get what she wants Learn more about this chic busy mom who is doing it all. EP 26. How to Feel Better About Yourself by Dressing for Your Body Type Today
2023/03/18
A woman's personal style is forever evolving. Life experiences and circumstances can affect her approach to style. Weight gain or weight loss, pregnancies, age and time, can introduce changes to her body, which in turn affect the clothing she purchases, how she styles herself and how the selected clothing drapes her body. These factors can contribute to her confidence level. I connect with Master Style Coach Michele Nidiffer for advice on how women can regain their confidence through style. In this interview, she highlights recommendations that women can embrace to feel more beautiful and confident in their everyday lives by selecting clothing based on their current body types. Michele empowers women through personal style and encourages them to dress for the body they are in right now. She is the founder of the StyleFinder Boutique, host of the Style by Mary Michele Podcast, creator of the online course, How to Find Your Signature Style, and author of the upcoming book "How to Wear Color with Confidence". Through her expertise, she becomes a problem solver who helps women discover how beautiful they really are. Here's what we discuss during the interview: 1) Evolution of personal style 2) The power of color 3) Connection between style and confidence 4) Dress for the body you're in right now 5) Style is not about labels You can follow Master Style Coach Michele Nidiffer here: Instagram: @stylebymarymichele and @shopstylefinder TikTok: @stylebymarymichele and @shopstylefinder Website: https://shopstylefinder.com/ Join in on the conversation with Podcast Host Bri Cobb: Instagram: www.instagram.com/livinghernextphase/ Website: https://www.livinghernextphase.com/ Bri Cobb is the founder of Living Her Next Phase, a community of women who boldly, daringly and courageously start anew to get what they want and live their most fulfilling lives ever.
