Jupiter Cazimi in Cancer: New Moon Yoga Nidra
2025/06/25
This yoga nidra practice (translating to "yoga sleep" in Sanskrit) is a guided meditation that explores space in our bodies and helps plant seeds of manifestation with the new moon. (Starts at 1:40)
Yoga nidra is a wonderful practice that brings you into a hypnogogic state: a semi-conscious state between wakefulness and sleep. As your brain waves slow down, the body is essentially asleep while the mind remains aware. This activates our parasympathetic system where our body naturally repairs itself (we access this while sleeping every night).
Research shows that only 20 minutes of yoga nidra gives your body the same benefits as 2-3 hours of sleep. The roots of this ancient practice are more than 5,000 years old, originated in India, and lead us through the 5 "koshas" or layers of the self.
All you need to do is lay down and listen.

Aaron Dean Eisenberg - Transformation Through Physicality, Vulnerability, and Masculinity
2024/10/22
Aaron Dean Eisenberg has undergone major physical transformations for multiple roles. In this episode you'll hear more about Aaron’s experience with these dramatic physical demands while working on The Iron Claw, which fearlessly explores the cost of living in the world as men who are taught that vulnerability or softness equals weakness. We talk about the difference between “hitting the gym to get shredded" and mindful somatic practices like yoga or meditation, and if working out in the gym can be a healing experience, what would that look like?
You can see Aaron in The Deuce and The Iron Claw on MAX, Dead Ringers on Amazon (TW: miscarriage) and go watch us both on Power Book II: Ghost on STARZ.

Reflecting on Four Years
2024/05/30
In today's episode Paton reflects over the past four seasons of FreeBody and how its ethos has evolved alongside her own expansion and curiosity when it comes to "freeing our bodies." Paton started this podcast by asking the same initial question to her guests as a launchpad into their body stories: "what is an early and significant body memory that comes to mind, and how do you see that experience rippling out through your life?" Little did she know this would lead to a second passion for somatic study, healing, and teaching.
Paton also shares some thoughts about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Some resources for information and ways to help the civilians and children in Gaza:
