The Identity Wound  -   Who Are You? We are now on the other side of the October 10 New Moon in Libra, and that New Moon brought us directly into one of October's biggest themes: choice. October is not a month for standing still, even with all of the outer planets retrograde, Venus retro now, and Mercury going retro soon. It may feel that way sometimes because we are being asked to reconsider, review, and reassess so many things. And many people say you should not make big forward moves during a retrograde. But review is not the same thing as stagnation and intentional action is better than waiting. Sometimes we have to decide to  stop moving in the same direction long enough to realize that we no longer want to go there. This is what retrogrades are good for, especially those that occur in Scorpio. That is where we are now and it is much different than not moving at all. The Libra New Moon asked us to look at balance, relationships, agreements, compromise, reciprocity, and the choices we make to maintain harmony. But there is a bigger question underneath all of that: Who is making your choices? Is it the person you are today? Or is it the person you used to be? That question becomes particularly important now because Chiron has retrograded back into Aries and is moving through the final degree of that sign. Maybe this is why the Chiron through Aries transit is its longest transit. I think of this as one last pass through the identity wound. You have heard of the mother wound, the father wound, soul wounds – a term I created and taught about, but what about how these wounds impact us and our identity? How do they impact who we allow ourselves to be and to become and what do we do about that? That’s a core part of our life lessons, and it is what establishes our unique, independent, intentional identity. Chiron entered Taurus for the first time since 1976 earlier this year, giving us a brief preview of a completely different energy around value, worth, resources, security, the body, money, and what we are capable of creating and sustaining. October means cooler weather, the start of the holiday season, and the last part of the year. It is a 10 month in a 1 year so we have an 11 vibe this month, which always brings a special energy. 11 is the number of spiritual initiation, the beginning of a spiritual journey but this is not a re-start of everything we have done before . We are not erasing everything that has happened and starting at a blank beginning.  It  is the first steps on a new spiritual path that is now open to us. Are we ready? Now this is not a promise of joy and abundance, it is a promise of lessons, learning, and choices. Don’t confuse the two or you may be disappointed! A spiritual initiation is an invitation to move into another level of awareness, responsibility, choice, and self-mastery. It is a new level of self-awareness which begins with a realization of a truth that makes the old path irrelevant and unsustainable.  It does not come with a promise that everything will suddenly become easy, joyful, and abundant. We have clarity and from that we get to make new choices. This is something I first wrote about in 2004 and I described it as the  Path of Spiritual Initiation and its five stages: Birth, Trial, Lesson, Enlightenment, and After Enlightenment. It was one of the first articles I wrote in my newsletter in February 2004, and Planet Lightworker magazine published it in a very popular article that was read by millions. We often think manifestation begins with intention, desire, or vision. Those are important parts of the process, but manifestation also requires movement. An idea remains an idea until we give it direction, energy, structure, and a place to become real, and part of our reality . And manifestation is a process of turning energy into reality. This is energetic manipulation – ‘mani’ means hands – in the best sense of the word. September asks: What are you prepared to do with the ideas, possibilities, and opportunities that are now appearing? The Ninth Month: Completion Before Creation September is the ninth month of the calendar year, and the number nine carries the energy of fulfillment, completion, integration, and release. Nine represents the end of a cycle, but an ending is not a failure. It is the point at which we have gathered everything that a particular experience, relationship, identity, belief, or life path was capable of teaching us. We cannot remain in every cycle forever.  We can create beginnings but there is a catch and a lesson. The catch is beginnings require endings. The lesson is that letting go, releasing, having closure, is the necessary part of both endings and beginnings. And in September we get this opportunity in an interesting way because the energy of September is both an ending, a 9, and a beginning, the 1. One of the greatest challenges of manifestation is our reluctance to allow endings. We want the new beginning, but we do not always want to release what the beginning will replace. We want expansion without disruption, transformation without change, and a new reality that does not require us to reconsider any part of the old one. With September’s 1 energy of fresh starts and new beginnings, the first thing we think about is action. And if your life has experienced delays and setbacks in recent months or years, you’re probably ready for movement now. You may have been abandoned or rejected by people over the past decade or longer, and now you are ready to be in control again, to feel like you do not have to react to what others decide to do and instead, make decisions that are proactive, beneficial, and controlled. September opens the door to action, but this is not action for the sake of staying busy, proving yourself, or forcing something to happen before it is ready. This is intentional action. It is activated by a strong desire for change or by an intuitive knowing that we need to shift the energy in one or more areas of our life. It is inspired movement that arises when you recognize that you have reached the end of one energetic road and are ready to enter another. September’s energy asks us to stop circling the possibilities, endlessly reviewing our choices, waiting for permission, or hoping that the next step will somehow make itself obvious. And on a deeper level, hoping that someone or something will change and you will not have to make the choice that you have been delaying, maybe for a long time. starts and beginnings. Before you get too excited, remember that beginnings require endings. Those endings may have already happened – we have had a lot of endings in the past 6 years – or they may be coming up. When you set an intention for a beginning, something has to end to create the energetic space for it to happen.10 is both an end and a beginning, it is the 1 of fresh starts and action and the 0 of no-thing. This is pure potential, access to undifferentiated energy that we can create from. And with the Equinox on September 22 is another energy shift with the Sun going into Libra. Remember that the calendar year starts January 1 but the natural year starts with the Spring Equinox around March 21. This is the 3rd quarter of the year, a time for harvest and assessment, as well as acting on what we have learned.The energy theme for September is Alchemized Action but this is managed, direct, intentional action. We are now able to move from Potential to Possibility to Purposeful Manifestation through Action. Manifestation is the key word here – this is where we alchemize energy into form. We take undifferentiated energy from the field of potential and convert it, via intention, into matter. By the time August ends it feels like the holidays are just around the corner, then the year is over. I feel like this year has been in a holding pattern. Things are happening, but many things are starting and nothing is completing. I think August will be the turning point for that. August is the 8th month and in a 2026, which is a 1 year, it’s a 9, the number of endings. But these are not normal or usual endings, this is closure if we are ready for that. August energy theme is completion, and that is more than endings that must occur for beginnings. Completion is being finished, complete, with no loose ends, no regret, no second chances or second guessing our actions or intentions. If you are given an opportunity for completion this month, take it all the way to the end. Completion must happen before true beginnings can occur. August 2026 has 2 eclipses which is not rare for August but it brings back the August 21, 2017 eclipse which was called the Great US eclipse. It was at 28 Leo and that correlates to the current degree of the North Node, which just moved into Aquarius. I think there is a synergy there so we will have to wait to see how that plays out. But I have air conditioning so I’m comfortable even though I do keep mine a little bit higher than most people because I do not like being cold. And hot July is the right foundation for the action of this month. The first thing to notice is that July 2026 has an ‘8’ vibration, the number of balanced manifestation, harmony, congruence, and energy alchemy. 8 is the number of infinity but it is also balance and flow. Energy moves this month, and it will demand balance and flow. Next the month starts with a Mercury retrograde which is not a bad thing. It is in Cancer, the sign of emotions and the mother, but also foundations, process, and stability. Mercury is just finishing up the work that Jupiter just did with 12 months in Cancer. This is a call to action for us to remove what is causing imbalance, instability, disharmony, and lack of flow. And this is not just about other people, it is about the instability and disharmony that we create for ourselves by not honoring our needs, not limiting the energy we share, not creating strong intentions, and not maintaining energy boundaries. We are often the source of our own disempowerment, even though we do not do it intentionally or on purpose. July’s energy theme is Harmony, Balance, and Truth. This is not keeping the peace to avoid drama, saying ‘yes’ when you mean ‘no,’ being available to anyone for anything to avoid trouble. This is maintaining energetic harmony, frequency, balance, and standing in your truth. https://enlighteninglife.com/myth-forgiveness/In a recent conversation with a friend about my family and why I had to establish no contact with them 18 months ago, she asked ‘Will you ever forgive them?” “Why should I,” I replied, “when their actions just showed me the truth I had been ignoring for years?” “Well, that’s not very spiritual,” she replied. “How is it spiritual to continue to let people stay in my life when they have showed me, time and time again, that they do not love, honor, or respect me and that is not going to change?” I do not plan to forgive them for anything they did because it is not necessary. I have already done all of the forgiving I need to do, by forgiving myself for believing that fixing this family dysfunction was my job and that somehow, if I worked hard enough, overlooked enough toxicity, and forgave often enough, that some day the Norman Rockwell version of family bliss would somehow be mine. The idea that forgiveness should be given to people who do not want it, care about it, or deserve it has kept us locked in toxic relationships for years or longer. And especially if you consider yourself to be spiritual, you believe that you should unconditionally forgive people for being cruel, unkind, and mean to you. At some point, we accepted the belief that granting forgiveness was going to change their behavior. It will not and it never has. We had 2 full moons in May that stirred up a lot of energy and expanded May’s Alchemy theme. With a full moon on May 31 just in time for our entry into June, this is a time for action with a specific purpose. June is for acting from within and that means in our self-interest. June is the 6th month and that means the year is half over. How has it been so far? If you feel like you have not accomplished anything, don’t despair. This is one of those years where the second half is much different than the first half. And we are entering the second half with June as a bridge point and that’s good because June has some wonderful energy and astro aspects. The numerology of June is a 7, 6th month in 2026 (1) is a 7. In numerology, this is the number of the spiritual journey, the spiritual master, and the integration of divinity and humanity. In tarot, it’s the Chariot, representing action, movement, and self-direction. The Chariot card shows the driver in charge, holding the reins, controlling the horses, and moving in a direction of his choice. This is self-direction, self-awareness, and acting from empowerment. June’s energy theme is Blessings and that is not the same as gifts and special benefits. Blessings mean something that benefits us in some way, which could involve the end of a relationship that should have been over years ago, or the realization that you need to remove your energy from people and situations who are never going to respond positively to you. Or it could mean the abrupt end of a situation you have avoided – like leaving a job that is toxic – so you can do something else. How do you receive your Blessings? You start with knowing what they are which is a balance between what you want and what you will allow yourself to receive – they are not the same thing. Activating your wealth frequency is not turning on a switch so you can make more money. It is activating, aligning with, and integrating the energies of joy, prosperity, and fulfillment. https://enlighteninglife.com/may-2026-new-moon-alchemy/ We are at a turning point in our ascension path and it is highlighted by the new moon on May 16. This is not just another new moon it is a call to action, a spiritual graduation, and a point of inflection for us. It asks, ‘Are you ready now?’ and while there is no right answer, how we decide to respond determines our next step. We have experienced many changes in the past decades and especially beginning late 2017 as Saturn entered Capricorn and especially in late 2019 and early 2020 with the full force of the Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn transit. Those were challenging times and it felt like the end of the world. And at the worst of the 2020 craziness, Mars was conjunct Chiron in Aries. In mid-2022 we had another period of Mars conjunct Chiron, and again in mid-2024. This transit ends May 19 and does not happen again until the 2070s. This is a particularly interesting one for me because, as I shared with you, whenever this particular full moon happens my life changes considerably. It’s exactly square my natal moon and I think that this is something that should be considered in our assessment of our astrology chart. You can read my Substack article on it at this link. May’s 6 descension energy comes after April’s 5 energy of transcension. Five is the number of transition, not transformation. What we did in April comes to fruition or expansion in May. 6 is the number of descension, it’s the first part of our 3 step ascension journey. With descension we get energy to do the work that needs to be done if we are going to fulfill our intention. This is the follow up from whatever dis-integrating or pivot work we did in April. And a full moon represents completion of what the new moon began. The April 17 new moon began that process, especially with its close conjunction to both Chiron and Eris. I feel that this birthday is different, special, and brings in some big changes. I do not know what they are yet, but I know they are important. And for you astrology fans – I also have a lunar return on the same day as my solar return. That doesn’t happen very often. April 2026 is a 5 numerology and that is the number of pivots, possibilities, and the transition phase. 5 represents the bridge between the stability of 4 and the descension energy of 6. 5 is pivot point. It’s a transitional number that is a temporary stopping point while we decide what to do next. That’s why it’s so fitting for this month. With a 5 vibe April is already set to be a month where change, insights, new potentials, and energy movement will be happening. With a new moon on April 17 that features 8 planets in Aries, action is on the agenda. We just need to make sure that it is aligned, purposeful, intentional action. https://enlighteninglife.com/you-are-perfect/I hear people saying ‘I am not perfect’ and ‘no one is perfect’ all of the time and it is irritating because it is not true. Everyone is perfect – all the time. No matter who they are or where they are in their life. The word perfect has been given a context that is not aligned with its original meaning and when you understand the true meaning of ‘perfect’ you will realize that not only are you perfect now, you have always been perfect, and there is no more perfect version of you than that which exists right now. Because I study words and their meanings and usage as a hobby, it’s called lexicology etymology, I frequently research how words are used versus their origins and what they actually mean. And because I speak multiple languages, I also pay attention to how they are derived from and used in different languages. Let’s look at the word ‘perfect’. To research it I asked 3 questions: Where does it come from? What does it mean? How does its true meaning differ from how it is used today? First, where does the word ‘perfect’ come from? It was first used around 1250AD and is from the Latin word ‘perfectus’, which means ‘finished’ or ‘completed.’ What does ‘perfect’ mean in its original context? That something is finished or completed. In Latin, perfectus is the past participle of the verb ‘perficere’ which means to finish. So if ‘perficere’ means to finish, then perfectus means it is finished. This brings us to the third question – how does its true meaning and original use differ from the current meaning and usage of the word ‘perfect?’ How did we get from ‘finished’ to the best that can possibly be, which is what we imply when we use the word perfect today. It is also the natural start of the new year, which begins on the spring equinox, March 20 this year. That is the day when the Sun reaches the Zero Point, at 0 Aries. And what is happening at the point right now? Yes we have Neptune there and we did have Saturn there too just recently . And in March we’ll have other planets at that point. Plus a game changing eclipse. This is the annual starting line, the reboot, and the astrological birthday, so let’s celebrate. March is the 3rd month of the year and in 2026 it is a 4 year. 4 is the number of stability, structure, and grounding. There are 4 elements – water, fire, earth, and air. There are 4 seasons, 4 quarters in an annual cycle. 4 is the number of completion and of balance. With 4 we feel structured, grounded, and are standing on a stable foundation, , and it is fitting that we have a 4 month in March. The March energy theme reflects that with a theme of Rebirth, Reckoning, and Re-Structuring. We have rebirth with spring when all of nature returns to life after hibernating over a long, cold winter. We have a Reckoning as we make careful, deliberate, intentional choices about our life path. This includes where we are now and where we want to be, who gets access to us and our energy, where we spend our time, energy, and effort, and how we manage our energy resources. Re-structuring refers to how we will build our lives, and instead of choosing a random path, we have to become architects of our reality. With a focus on the path we can become victims to destiny, uncertainty, surprises, and unexpected events. As architects of our reality we have a design, a plan, and a vision of the outcome. https://enlighteninglife.com/greed-grift-graft-spiritual-industry/We are watching, in real time, the collapse of the guru era — the for-profit spiritual industry built on glamour, paid access, and manufactured enlightenment. This is not only about Deepak Chopra’s infamous relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, although that plays a part. For nearly two decades I’ve witnessed people pour their faith, money, and power into authors and teachers who positioned themselves as the sole keepers of truth. I knew it could not and would not last, something I have been saying for many years. I have been part of the spiritual world longer than most of the people who are now writing public apologies. While others built high-ticket empires and declared themselves enlightened, I did my work quietly, consistently, and with integrity. I turned down publishers, refused to share stages with those I thought were fraudsters, and never sold access to myself as a product. So this moment of reckoning does not surprise me. The truth always rises. And the collapse of the guru economy was inevitable. Now the curtain has finally been pulled back and people are left wondering whom to trust.
