Diversity, equity, and inclusion, as an English learner, I learned those words long time ago. But I never have the opportunity to look at them closely. Today's episode, it is my honor to have Dr. Anika Simone Johnson here. She is the director of Equity and Inclusion at Warner School of Education and Human Development. We had so many woderful and insightful conversations, please enjoy!

Well just imagine you have a roommate who is willing to help you with your assignment, that's who she is. Polina is a really nice person, and she can speak multiple languages which is impressive. We had many conversations about how we learned languages. It was interesting to share strories that you were struggling with two languages, switching, mixing, and could be confusing sometimes. Here we go. 

I just had the class. We were talking about time management, and I said I have to spend some time talking with people, it seems like it's already a part of my life. I'm grateful that Professor Kirst is here, a well experienced teacher and school leader. We had so many conversations not only in the podcast but class. She is always the right and delightful person you could talk with. I'm grateful.

What does friends mean to you? I think how much time you spend together is not necessary, it's all about trust. Do you trust her or him? Dolly and Roger are definitely not my new friends, even though we don't have a lot of time together. But still I believe we are good friends, cause I knew they are always adorable and reliable people.

How do you discribe the kind of feeling when you talk with someone you've known each other for a long time but not seen each other since graduated from high school? I will say it's natural. In my mind, Brigitte is always excellent in her English, especially spoken English. Better than mine, all the time. Now I'm getting some pressure, but heeey it's not a bad thing, I am learning from the best.

"Please don't try so hard to say goodbye." Maybe it's easier for me to sing it out like Adam Levine did in "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5, love it! It's true that say goodbye can not be easy. But look at the bright side, say goodbye is just a temporary thing, anyway you got a really good friend, like Nah, my journey of parties instructor......I think I'm going to call him that. 

"Music has never disappeared in my life, I gave the guitar to Alexandra with my signature inside of it. I promise it will be valueble in the future, don't laugh, I mean it. Alexandra and I, we didn't spend a lot of time together. But to me, she is always a special little girl with both wisdom and beauty. Most importantly, she has a pair of beautiful eyes." That is the ending of the memoir I wrote about her after I leave Athens. And I'm glad that I did it, it could be remembered as always.

I gotta say she is the coolest professor I've ever met, it's the coolest, not cruellest, I make sure it doesn't go wrong. Anyway she is a really really cool person, I'll prove my statement right away.

Unfortunately Sofia isn't here, but I'm looking forward to having the whole lovely Spanish group next time. We met in an outdoor party at Zappeion, which is a famous Palace near National Garden in Athens. After that, we went to flag party, Greek night, karaoke night, acropolis museum, Nafplio trip and so on, with a lot of beer, literally. So let's jump right into it.

I was at an interview in English Learning Center, sort of an association in my university. He was the judge. I still remember he asked me a question about Batman verses Captain America, who wins? I said Captain America, because he got his shield and Batman only has money. I know it was silly, but it broke the ice. Anyway, it's really really good to see him and talk to him again, so here we go.
