At the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002, while working at Blockbuster Video, I met a customer who offered me a job on his construction crew. He introduced me to the legendary music of Bob Marley, I introduced him to Alternative Rock. While listening to the radio on the way home from a long day, a song played that raised both of our eyebrows. I bought the album, which we listened to nonstop while on the job. The album was Bleed American, the band was Jimmy Eat World, I’m C. John Bridges and this is From the Racks and Stacks!

In 2001 and 2002, I decided that my life was due for a re-boot, so I did just that. I moved up to Belleview, just south of Ocala and got a job at the local Blockbuster Video where I made a close friend who I had a lot in common with. This relationship brought on conflict with another guy who had developed an unhealthy jealousy as he was dealing with his own problems. Throughout all of this, I was introduced to a new album that made me appreciate a style of rock-n-roll that I actively resisted. The album is No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls, the band is Simple Plan; I'm C. In 1999, after a conversation with my high school's guidance counselor, I realized my grades had slipped beyond recovery. I gave up and dropped out, then moved to Orlando where I was introduced to the world of hip-hop by way of becoming a session musician at a recording studio. Those nights working with hip-hop artists consisted of crazy parties. After attending a performance from one of our artists, then witnessing a shooting in the parking lot, I was introduced to an album that put the events of 1999 into a different perspective for me; a more real perspective, a hip-hop perspective. In 1998 and 99, my life became somewhat chaotic. After the death of my grandmother and a wild-fire that consumed most of the area where I lived, I sank into a deep depression. The only way out for me was learning the blues. I was inspired to do so by a bluesman whose music was unlike anything I had ever heard. In 1996, I took drastic action to make a good grade writing essays in my 7th grade English class. A classmate went through a transformation that seemed to shock everyone that knew her. After I realized what artist caused this transformation, he dropped an album that had dark themes, but was catchy and Weston to become one of the most successful albums of the 90's. The artist is Marilyn Manson, the album is Antichrist Superstar, I'm C. In the summer of 2000, I was living in Orlando and getting to know the music scene there, which was much bigger than what I had known before. After meeting a popular radio personality, I attended a show to see a band that I had grown to love. The opening act of that show had raised eyebrows. After their debut album was released, they went on to become one of the biggest acts in rock history. The band is Linkin Park, the album is Hybrid Theory, I’m C. In the Spring of 2000, I went a little wild and got into street drag racing. An encounter with a sore loser led me to the only techno album I had ever bought. In early 1997, I fought back against my step-dad who had his last drunken rage with me. I was sent to Miami to spend the summer with my aunt and cousins. That summer I met a beautiful girl, went out on a few dates, and was introduced to an album that has always reminded me of that summer.
