Michelle hit a breaking point trying to balance full-time work, motherhood, and caring for their mom with dementia. That moment gave birth to a new life philosophy: slow down, care less, do nothing. They also share what’s happening around town, including The Pigs’ upcoming show and the annual Night of Hope supporting Winning With Wyatt.

406 | Is It Perimenopause or Is Everyone Annoying?
2026/10/15
Welcome back, WIFs!
From badly behaved sports fans to a society glued to its phones, Lauren and Michelle have a few grievances to air this week. And speaking of feeling irritated, could perimenopause be making everything just a little more annoying?
The sisters get into Paul Rudd’s thoughts on our phone obsession, the New York Times’ take on “attention infidelity,” and what happens to our relationships when screens keep stealing the spotlight.
On the cozy media front, Lauren shares her love for Gloria Steinem’s An Unexpected Life, then the sisters weigh in on Verity and movies that aren't worth the price of admission.
Plus, what they're listening to, upcoming events, glorious fall weather, and the underrated pleasure of spending hours making a meal.

405 | The Science Behind Being a Fall-Loving Basic Bitch
2026/10/08
Welcome back, WIFs!
This week, Lauren and Michelle are raising a toast to all the fall-loving basic bitches and celebrating the coziest month of the year: October. From pumpkin spice and sweaters to Halloween traditions and nostalgic fall rituals, they dive into why this season feels so comforting—and apparently, there’s actual science behind our obsession with it.
For their cozy media roundup, they discuss This Is Not About Us by Allegra Goodman, HBO’s A Killer Story, and the Good Hang episode with Amy Poehler and Robert De Niro that had Michelle questioning whether some people are simply impossible to interview.
And, of course, they wrap things up with simple joys.
Press play, get cozy, and celebrate October with your favorite basic fall-loving sisters.

404 | I Feel Happy. I Feel Healthy. There Are Robots.
2026/10/01
Welcome back, WIFs!
This week, Lauren and Michelle are catching up on a whirlwind weekend in Sonoma County, one of the best weddings Michelle has ever attended, and a flight home that deserves its own conversation.
They also have questions. Robots on the runway? No, thank you. Bringing an iced latte into a job interview? Apparently that’s a thing now. Naturally, they have thoughts.
In an attempt to do a little more bloomscrolling and a little less doomscrolling, the sisters share a simple feel-good mantra that has made its way into their mornings.
Plus, what they’re reading, watching, and listening to—including Ryan Murphy’s Monster series taking on the notorious story of Lizzie Borden.
Travel chaos, wedding joy, robots, iced coffee etiquette, a little mindfulness, a little murder, and the usual sister banter. You know, balance.

403 | Longevity for People Who Still Want Dessert
2026/09/24
Welcome back, WIFs!
This week, Lauren and Michelle are talking longevity—not in a biohacking, never-eat-a-cookie-again kind of way, but in the everyday choices that can help us live longer, healthier, and hopefully happier lives.
The sisters share the things they’re already doing—walking, yoga, mindfulness, therapy, gratitude, human connection, functional movement, and getting outside—as well as the things they’d like to do more of. Think lifting weights, learning new things, journaling, continuing their education, and figuring out how to eat less sugar and processed food without removing all joy from existence.
There’s also a Cozy Tea moment with ginger, lemon, cinnamon, and honey, and a little reminder that taking care of yourself doesn’t have to require an entire lifestyle overhaul. Sometimes it’s the small things we do over and over again that matter most.
Plus, plenty of cozy catching up, wheezy laughing, and what they’re loving right now—from Everyday With Babs and Witches of Eastwick to an intriguing investigative podcast and Grace Potter’s latest album.
Press play, get cozy, and join us for a conversation about taking care of ourselves for the long haul—without forgetting to actually enjoy being here.

402 | I Just Wanted To Have A Nice Day
2026/09/17
Welcome back, WIFs!
This week, Lauren and Michelle are talking about what it feels like to live in a world where there is always something happening, something to read, something to worry about, and another notification waiting for us.
They have a candid conversation about information overload, social media, and the nonstop stream of bad news that can make it difficult to simply be present in our own lives. From climate anxiety and worries about the future to the rapid changes happening with AI, they unpack some of the bigger things taking up space in our minds and ask an important question: do we have to know every single thing happening in the world.
Because the truth is, humans were not made for this type of information overload and constant onslaught of news.
As always, there is plenty of cozy catching up and wheezy laughing along the way. It’s not all doom and gloom, that’s for sure.
Press play, get cozy, and settle in for a conversation about navigating an overwhelming world, finding a little more space from the noise, and remembering that sometimes the best parts of life are the very simple ones.

Bring Back the 90's: Did We Have More Fun Without Technology?
2026/09/10
Welcome back, WIFs.
For this mini cozy of Bring Back the 90s, Lauren and Michelle are talking about something they never thought would become trendy again: going analog.
Inspired by a Today Show segment about Gen Z embracing a more analog lifestyle, the sisters dive into what it actually meant to live without smartphones, social media, and everything being instantly documented. Film cameras, printed photos, journals, cash, phone calls, prank calls, sleepovers, crafting, and just figuring things out without immediately looking it up.
They reminisce about dropping off a roll of film at Walgreens and waiting to see how the pictures turned out, making photo albums, calling friends on the phone, using Star 69, paying with cash, traveling with phone cards, and even keeping a travel junk journal filled with receipts and little things collected along the way.
Maybe Gen Z isn't actually trying to become 90s kids. Maybe they're just realizing that there is something pretty great about being bored, making things with your hands, talking to people, and having experiences that aren’t immediately posted online.
Press play, get cozy, and take a little trip back to a time when life was a whole lot more analog—and a lot more fun.
And if you have your own niche 80s or 90s memory, prank call story, or old-school tradition, the sisters want to hear it.
As always, stay cozy.

401 | A Little Dolly, A Little NYC & A Lot of Cozy
2026/09/03
Welcome back, WIFs!
This week, Lauren and Michelle are talking about the people, places, stories, and simple pleasures that make life a little more meaningful.
They start with a cozy catch-up from Lauren’s time in New York City for the Yahoo Nonfiction Hotlist, where she found herself delighted by everything from the subway and the unexpected kindness of strangers.
Then the conversation turns to Dolly Parton and the many layers of a woman who became so much more than a music icon.
From the story behind “I Will Always Love You” to the millions of books connected to her Imagination Library, there is plenty to appreciate about the woman behind the wigs and rhinestones.
And, of course, they wrap things up with their simple joys of the week—because sometimes the smallest moments, like grocery shopping with your kid or watching your children genuinely enjoy each other’s company, end up being the ones you remember most.
Press play, get cozy, and settle in for a conversation about looking beyond the surface, appreciating the stories behind the people we admire, and finding a little more joy in the everyday.

400 | 400 Episodes Later: How We Roll
2026/08/27
Welcome back, WIFs!
Look mom, we made it to 400! This week, Lauren and Michelle are celebrating a pretty big milestone: 400 episodes of Cozy Conversations with The Sister Project®. After years of conversations, laughter, life updates, and plenty of cozy chaos, the sisters are taking a moment to look back at what it means to keep creating, showing up, and doing something you love.
They chat about the reality of sticking with a creative project for the long haul, what they've loved most about making the podcast, and what happens when you decide to change direction and go after a dream—even when it feels a little scary. The conversation then turns to Anthony’s documentary, How We Roll, that was selected for the 2026 Yahoo Nonfiction Hotlist, making it one of just 20 films chosen from more than 900 submissions.
And with 400 episodes under their belt and Anthony’s documentary which Lauren co-produced, the three hosts have a very exciting announcement to share! You MUST tune in to find out more.
Press play, get cozy, and celebrate 400 episodes with the sisters as they talk about following your curiosity, making things you're proud of, taking the leap when the timing feels right, and enjoying the ride along the way.
Because sometimes the best part isn't knowing exactly where you're going—it's seeing what happens when you keep rolling.

Bring Back the 90's: Our Ultimate Back-to-School Throwback
2026/08/23
Welcome back, WIFs.
Back by popular demand, Lauren and Michelle are bringing you another mini cozy from their Bring Back the 90's series.
And this time, they're going back to school.
Before back-to-school shopping meant clicking a link, buying a pre-selected supply box, and checking everything off a list, there was something special about walking the aisles and picking out exactly what you wanted.
In this episode, the sisters take a nostalgic trip back to 90's back-to-school season, from Venture shopping trips and Five Star notebooks to Trapper Keepers, Lisa Frank folders, smelly pens, Dr. Grip pens, eraser caps, pencil cases, and the highlighters that were somehow way more exciting than they needed to be.
Then there's lunch.
Capri Suns, Lunchables, Kudos bars, Gushers, Fruit by the Foot, Ecto Cooler, Dunkaroos, SnackWell's, Handy Snacks, and those classic bologna sandwiches packed with love.
And because this is the 90's, there are plenty of unexpected memories along the way—including paper bag book covers, rubber cement, white-out, eraser vacuums, and the fact that we were apparently trusted with paper guillotines.
Press play, get cozy, and take a walk down the back-to-school aisles with Lauren and Michelle.
Because the 90's were cozy—and maybe it's time to bring a little bit of that back into our adult lives, too.

399 | Post Dinner Walks and Why They Matter
2026/08/20
Welcome back, WIFs!
Today we're talking about something with perhaps the worst name and one of the best excuses to get outside: the fart walk. What started as a funny internet term is actually connected to a much older and much cozier idea—the simple post-dinner stroll. From Italy's la passeggiata to Spain's el paseo, cultures around the world have long understood that a little movement after a meal can be good for the body, the mind, and your social life.
Michelle and Lauren dive into why a gentle 10–20 minute walk after dinner can support digestion, help regulate blood sugar, reduce stress, and create a natural transition into the evening. But this conversation isn't really about exercise. It's about turning movement into a ritual instead of another item on your to-do list. It's about getting outside, chatting with the people you love, noticing your neighborhood, and giving yourself a little space between dinner and the rest of your night.
The sisters also catch up on post-travel adventures, favorite Michigan towns, an unexpected conversation with a stranger by the water, and the little moments of connection that remind us to slow down and pay attention. Then it's time for books, movies, simple joys, and a few current obsessions—including Lauren’s continued fascination with Alive.
So grab your walking shoes, invite someone you love, and take a little stroll with us. Because sometimes the simplest wellness habits are the ones that fit most naturally into everyday life.

398 | Why Your Best Life Might Just Be The One You Have
2026/08/13
Welcome back, WIFs!
Have you ever felt like the only way to create a life you love is to make a dramatic change—quit your job, move somewhere new, or completely reinvent yourself? This week, Michelle and Lauren explore a gentler approach to change and ask a different question: What if the life you're looking for already fits inside the one you're living?
Inspired by a thought-provoking essay about "finding energy in the margins," the sisters dive into the idea that joy doesn't always require a fresh start. Sometimes, all it takes is protecting a small pocket of time for yourself, following a tiny spark of curiosity, or giving yourself permission to enjoy something simply because it makes you happy—not because it has to be productive.
In a culture that often celebrates burnout stories and dramatic transformations, this conversation is a refreshing reminder that meaningful change can happen through the smallest shifts.
So pour yourself a cup of coffee, head out for a walk, or settle into your favorite cozy chair, and join the conversation. Whether you're craving a little more creativity, a little more rest, or simply permission to enjoy your life exactly as it is, this episode is a gentle invitation to stop waiting for the "right time" to be happier.
Because sometimes, you don't need to overhaul your life—you just need to make a little more room for joy

397 | Nonnamaxxing: The Italian Secret to Slowing Down
2026/08/06
Welcome back, WIFs!
Lauren is home after spending time in Italy, and while the jet lag may eventually wear off, one thing is here to stay: a deep appreciation for living life a little more like an Italian nonna.
This week, Lauren and Michelle settle in for a cozy conversation inspired by one simple question: What if the secret to a happier life isn't doing more—but slowing down enough to truly enjoy it?
After watching women of all ages gather in sun-soaked piazzas, linger over meals, greet neighbors with warmth, and embrace the beauty of ordinary days, Lauren found herself captivated by the lifestyle now affectionately known as nonnamaxxing—a growing movement that encourages us to live more like Italian grandmothers. Not because of their age, but because of their wisdom. It's a gentle rejection of hustle culture and constant self-improvement in favor of meaningful friendships, home-cooked meals, daily rituals, slower mornings, and the understanding that life isn't something to race through—it's something to savor.
The sisters explore why this way of living feels so refreshing in a world that constantly tells us to optimize every minute. They talk about the simple routines that create a meaningful life, the importance of gathering around the table, embracing the aging process instead of fearing it, and why some of the happiest people in the world seem perfectly content sitting on a bench, watching life unfold around them.
Of course, Lauren also shares a few memorable stories from her travels—everything from chaotic overnight trains and marathon travel days to discovering her newfound appreciation for bidets, cappuccinos, beautiful house dresses, and greeting complete strangers like old friends. It's a reminder that travel has a way of changing us, not only through the places we visit but through the slower pace we're invited to experience while we're there.
The conversation also meanders into homemade Greek cooking, nostalgic family traditions, magazines making an unexpected comeback, a beautifully written novel that brought Lauren closer to her own family history, and what they've been cozying up with on their screens lately.
As always, they wrap up by sharing the simple joys that have filled their hearts this week—because sometimes joy looks like a long-awaited vacation, and sometimes it looks like recreating a family recipe that makes you feel close to the people you love.
Press play, get cozy, and join the conversation about slowing down, finding beauty in ordinary moments, and discovering that perhaps the richest life isn't the busiest one—it's the one filled with connection, good food, meaningful rituals, and enough time to simply sit back and watch the world go by.
Because maybe we've all got a little nonna in us after all.

Special Episode | A Cozy Conversation for Book Lovers at BrewPoint Craft.
2026/07/30
Welcome back, WIFs.
This week, Lauren and Michelle take Cozy Conversations on the road for a very special live podcast recorded at Brewpoint Craft in Elmhurst, Illinois, surrounded by a room full of fellow book lovers, readers, and everyone who has ever confidently declared, "I swear I'll read more."
Together with a live audience, the sisters dive into the simple joy of reading and why it's become so much harder to stay focused in a world filled with endless scrolling, notifications, and constant distractions. They explore what books have meant throughout different seasons of their lives, the stories that have stayed with them, and why making time to read can feel like one of the greatest acts of self-care.
Along the way, Lauren and Michelle reminisce about childhood reading memories, favorite bookstores and libraries, beloved authors, and the excitement of finding a book you simply couldn't put down. They also chat about how reading invites us to slow down, sparks our imagination, and creates space for curiosity and empathy.
The conversation is filled with laughter, thoughtful reflections, and plenty of relatable moments for anyone who's struggled to finish a book—or has a growing stack on their nightstand waiting for "the right time."
Most of all, this episode is a reminder that reading isn't about keeping up with a yearly goal or checking another title off a list. It's about giving yourself permission to unplug, get comfortable, and enjoy the quiet magic that only a good book can bring.
Press play, get cozy, and join Lauren and Michelle for this special live Cozy Conversation celebrating books, nostalgia, and the simple pleasure of turning the next page.
Because sometimes the coziest place to be is between the covers of a really good book.

Bring Back the 90's: The Beauty Products That Raised Us
2026/07/23
Welcome back, WIFs.
This week, Lauren and Michelle continue their Bring Back the 90's series with a trip down the beauty aisle of every drugstore, grocery store, and Avon catalog.
Before 10-step skincare routines, luxury serums, and influencer-approved beauty products, skincare was a whole lot simpler...and sometimes a whole lot harsher.
In this episode, the sisters revisit the beauty products that defined growing up in the 80's and 90's. From the face-burning sting of Noxzema pads and Sea Breeze toner to the infamous St. Ives Apricot Scrub that practically exfoliated your entire face off, they laugh about the products we all swore by—and somehow survived.
Along the way, Lauren and Michelle reminisce about Herbal Essences shampoo, Pert Plus, Sun-In, Ultra Swim, Johnson & Johnson Detangler, DEP hair gel, Aquanet, crimped hair, body waves, and the unforgettable hairstyles that seemed like a good idea at the time.
The nostalgia doesn't stop there. They flip through memories of Avon catalogs, Skin So Soft, Lip Smackers, CK One, and Gap scents.
Press play, get cozy, and join Lauren and Michelle as they revisit the products, hairstyles, and beauty trends that made getting ready in the 90's an experience all its own.
Because sometimes all it takes is the smell of Noxzema or Lip Smackers to transport you right back to your childhood bathroom.
