In this episode Millie chats with Dr Anita Johnston Ph.D. Dr Anita is a psychologist, storyteller, eating psychology pioneer and author of ‘Eating in the Light of the Moon: How Women Can Transform Their Relationships with Food Through Myth, Metaphor, and Storytelling’. She has been working in the field of women’s issues, eating difficulties and body image distress for over 35 years and is currently the Clinical Director of ‘Ai Pono’ Hawaii which has a residential treatment program and the Executive Director of Eating Disorder Programs for the Integrative Life Centre in Nashville.
They discuss her pioneering work in the eating disorder field, the power of metaphors and storytelling in eating disorder recovery and the importance of discovering the hidden meaning behind eating disorders.
