For the season premiere of Deep Space X, Cmdr. Aster, Dr. Tamura, Dal Boket, and the Betazoid security officer, Lt. Emai, interrogate the first ever captive Breen prisoner. Known as Kiet the Shunned, he is an exile of the Breen Confederacy and rival of Aster. 

The famous EMH Doctor of the USS Voyager, with Dr. Tamura's assistance, cures Lt. Avder of his chronic disease. Meanwhile, Cmdr. Aster is requested by The Siskans to deliver the Orb of the Emissary back to the wormhole. 

Cmdr. Aster is assigned to lead the Fauna, the goat-like species first encountered in "Lock, p'Tahk, & Two Smoking Barrels," in removing highly advanced explosive mines from their once occupied planet. Dal Boket and Dr. Tamura offer technical and moral assistance, while a certain Klingon makes a surprise appearance. 

Dal Boket fends off his adversaries, both the Cardassian politician Eerack and Starfleet Officer Lt. Emai, while attempting to restore his reputation. Meanwhile, Cmdr. Aster and Dr. Tamura try to connect the dots, concerned of possible Obsidian Order, Orion Syndicate, or even Section 31 involvement.

During a review of the station's personnel physicals, Dr. Tamura reveals to Cmdr. Aster and Dal Boket his recent nightmares and distressing visions. The two agree to be Tamura's pylloras, entering a special mind meld to help him uncover, and live through, a suppressed memory.

After Ran Boket finds Rankle attempting to commandeer one of the station's shuttles, the Ferengi shares information on a kidnapping plot. The victim: Grand Nagus Rom, the leader of Ferengi society and famed engineer. Aster leads Tamura, Boket, and Rankle in an undercover mission to save the benevolent leader. 

Having commandeered a Ferengi vessel, the crew of Deep Space X attempt to save Grand Nagus Rom and his wife, Leeta. The two are being kept on "New Ferenginar," a resort planet in the Gamma Quadrant, operated by a strict social conservative party of Ferengi known as Traditionalists. Will Aster, Tamura and Boket be able to restore order?

After receiving a visit from Exarch Movik and a reinstatement of his Gul title, Boket requests assistance from Aster and Tamura to revisit Talara-Prime. The crew of DSX then assist the photonic workers of the planet, known as Holodytes, amidst influences from Starfleet, Cardassia, and perhaps even the Breen Confederacy. 

While enjoying a holosuite program based on "Wild West" Earth adventures, the senior officers of DSX are startled from their leisure after they receive an emergency message: The USS Kestrel is missing. Cmdr. Aster, Dr. Tamura, and Gul Boket form a search party to bring the Kestrel back home. 

Aster, Tamura, and Boket meet with Admiral Barrett to suss out any safe path forward to confront Starfleet about Section 31. The Admiral also has a request of her own: stop a Changeling cloning project taking place on Deep Space X. 

On an otherwise benign day aboard Deep Space X, the senior officers are surprised to find a cloaked probe exiting the Bajoran wormhole. After initial examination, its origin is revealed: Romulus. Will Aster, Tamura, and Boket be able to unveal the secrets hidden inside this Romulan nesting doll? 

On the penultimate episode of Deep Space X's second season, Cmdr. Aster leads the crew back to Earth. Before attending a meeting with Starfleet's Grand Admiral, they stay the night at Dr. Felix's childhood home. His father, Bob Tamura, has a special request for Gul Boket.
