Bayern Munich’s standards are so high that two draws in the space of four days now constitute a crisis. They returned from the international break by conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history in a 2-2 draw at Augsburg. The Bavarians then fell 2-0 down in Norway against Viking, before conceding a late equaliser in a 3-3 draw. A quick look at Bayern’s underlying numbers suggests that this crisis won’t last long. They generated 4.96 Expected Goals in their draw at Augsburg, before winning the xG battle 3.29 to 0.72 against Viking. RB Leipzig know all too well what Bayern are capable of. They lost last season’s Bundesliga meetings between the pair 6-0 at the Allianz Arena and 5-1 at home. Bayern’s two home league games to date have gone to plan, with the Bavarians beating a solid Stuttgart side 5-1 and thumping Union Berlin 7-0, while Leipzig have been vulnerable on the road.

Dortmund returned to action with a 2-2 draw at home to Werder Bremen on Friday, and they very nearly threw away three points in their Champions League opener, hanging on for a 3-2 victory against Villarreal. The Bundesliga outfit have conceded twice in three of their last five fixtures, and they head to a Bodo side that scored three times in all four of their Champions League qualifiers in the summer.
