A love of horses can lead us down some very enchanted roads. We chat with SuzAnne Miller of Dunrovin Guest Ranch and Virtual Community about the way a love of horses leads to magical places and special people and about the way her Virtual Community finds meaning and enjoyment in real time at her guest ranch.

We welcome Elisabeth Letts who has written “The Ride of Her Life,” the inspirational story of the transcontinental journey of Mesannie Wilkins from Maine to California on horseback, alone, in the mid-1950s. It is a story of achieving a dream even when things seem to be their bleakest. Sometimes the greatest thing we find on a long journey is ourselves.

A visit with Mary Midkiff, author of "She Flies Without Wings: How Horses Touch A Woman’s Soul" who sees in the relationship awe, caution, excitement and fear all at the same time. "She Flies Without Wings" asks us to look a little deeper at our relationship with horses. We speak, too, of the relationship between compassion and transformation.

We welcome Kaelyn Kennedy and discuss what it means to be an entrepreneur. Kaelyn started her enterprise in the equestrian clothing industry when she was 17 years old. Kaelyn is a noteworthy example of a person who took a road less travelled.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the appearance as a jockey at the Kentucky Derby of a woman jockey pioneer, Diane Crump, the Kentucky Derby Museum is hosting an interesting and important exhibition which is entitled “Right to Ride.” We welcome Jessica Whitehead of the Kentucky Derby Museum, Curator of Collections, to discuss the Museum's Exhibit. While women had been able to vote in the United States since the 19th Amendment of 1920, it wouldn’t be until some 50 years later, because of The Civil Rights Act of 1964, that they would be able to pursue a career as a jockey.

We welcome Tom Clavin, author of the book entitled "Reckless" to learn about the amazing horse of the same name who passed into legend with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. In stories of Reckless we find an amazing, selfless, dedication to the work at hand. She became a legend in that she performed the herculean task of hauling six to seven tons of ammunition up a hill over 2 days.

We visit with Amy Paolini of Jazz Apples. DreamWorks has partnered with Jazz Apples to promote healthy eating by means of DreamWorks Animation’s newly released movie “Spirit Untamed.” The movie portrays the adventure of the girl Lucky and her mustang Spirit in their search to find their ways home.

We welcome Jamie Alcock of Gloucestershire, England. Jamie will travel 600 miles by horse pulled carriage to raise funds to give to charities. Jamie's brother was tragically involved in a motor vehicle accident while on duty as a police constable. He never recovered and remained in a coma for 14 years before passing. His brother's wife and young son were helped enormously by charity groups. Jamie wants to help charities help others.

We welcome Emily Dulin, CEO of Brooke USA, an organization dedicated to improving the welfare of horses, donkeys and mules and the people who depend upon them. We speak with Emily about the 100 million horses, donkeys and mules, which help 600 million of the world’s poorest people. We also speak of the current Brooke USA campaign to provide additional aid for the equines and poor of India while in the throes of Covid-19.

We welcome Janet Rose, Director of Development and Communications at the Montana Center for Horsemanship to discuss the exciting four-year Bachelor of Science Program in Natural Horsemanship offered by Center in partnership with the University of Montana Western. This is the only degree offered in Natural Horsemanship in the United States. They will also discuss the 2021 Conference, “Of Horse, Human and Nature,” also presented in partnership with the University, with Dr Temple Grandin as a keynote speaker.

We welcome Mike Grenier, Executive Director of the not-for-profit organization A Horse Tale Rescue, located outside of Montreal. A Horse Tale Rescue respects each horse’s story and offers second chances and forever homes to horses in need. We reflect, too, on what it means to rescue an animal and on some of the rescues that have occurred at Bud’s Barn.

We visit with Dr Baker who is President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Zoo, the only zoo in the world to use the principles of natural horsemanship.
