To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the appearance as a jockey at the Kentucky Derby of a woman jockey pioneer, Diane Crump, the Kentucky Derby Museum is hosting an interesting and important exhibition which is entitled “Right to Ride.” We welcome Jessica Whitehead of the Kentucky Derby Museum, Curator of Collections, to discuss the Museum's Exhibit. While women had been able to vote in the United States since the 19th Amendment of 1920, it wouldn’t be until some 50 years later, because of The Civil Rights Act of 1964, that they would be able to pursue a career as a jockey.

In stories of Reckless we find an amazing, selfless, dedication to the work at hand. She became a legend in that she performed the herculean task of hauling six to seven tons of ammunition up a hill over 2 days.

Coldcroft Shires On A Fundraising Journey

We welcome Jamie Alcock of Gloucestershire, England. Jamie will travel 600 miles by horse pulled carriage to raise funds to give to charities. Jamie's brother was tragically involved in a motor vehicle accident while on duty as a police constable. He never recovered and remained in a coma for 14 years before passing. His brother's wife and young son were helped enormously by charity groups. Jamie wants to help charities help others.

We welcome Janet Rose, Director of Development and Communications at the Montana Center for Horsemanship to discuss the exciting four-year Bachelor of Science Program in Natural Horsemanship offered by Center in partnership with the University of Montana Western. This is the only degree offered in Natural Horsemanship in the United States. They will also discuss the 2021 Conference, “Of Horse, Human and Nature,” also presented in partnership with the University, with Dr Temple Grandin as a keynote speaker.
