Playasia listing suggest this for Elden Ring: Tarnished edition (not 100% confirmed). This will be labeled on the box at the bottom   Game key cards are NOT tied to a specific account (despite some reports to the contrary) https://www.theverge.com/news/644803/nintendo-switch-2-game-key-cards-trade-borrow-resell Possibly comparable to CD-ROMs in PC gaming when they were still relevant.  (Data was written to hard drive during install, but disc still needed to boot.   A cost cutting measure? I immediately thought to myself this looks like what a switch pro was going to be. However I was curious and looking forward to the direct and after seeing the direct, this doesnt feel like a new console to me. It basically feel like the Switch Pro. For 499 bucks? Bonus points if they have one that looks like the SNES mouse pad   DoubleD — 4/3/2025 10:51 AM For me, this is exactly what I wanted for the next Nintendo console. This direct was a complete 180 from the previous one, where the only thing that really got me hyped was Metroid Prime 4. I'm 100% on board with being an early adopter for this, whereas, I wasn't when the original Switch was announced. They're truly making a version of the Switch that I always wanted. Not only that, but they also announced games that I'm excited for, which seals the deal that it's going to be a day 1 purchase. I didn't expect it, but the game I am most excited for is DK Bananza! Also, with my kids getting older and moving out, I love the integrated video chat and screen sharing options. What are your opinions on console iterations? Do you prefer the model of console iteration that we usually get from Nintendo (sometging new and different) or prefer the PS/Xbox (Same but more powerful) route. Also do you like mid generation iterations like pro models or do you usually skip those. Maybe you wait for the pro model lol. Let's us know and we will discuss this on the next show!   5 Ri Sol-ju — 1/24/2025 10:11 AM I prefer mind gen iterations like PS Xbox but I generally get the iterations if there is an improvement on battery or screen. The only one I didn't get was the Steam Deck OLED because it was just a sunk cost of 900 after selling the original, I guess cost also factors in. Solo — 1/24/2025 10:16 AM Considering how hugely successful the Switch was I am hearing people say Nintendo played it safe and smart with this new console. I don't see that as a bad thing at all as I feel if it is not broke don't try to fix it. The Switch is being modeled by other companies and to have an entry that is more powerful will be great. Would rather have something that brings more games to play better and more 3rd party releases than the next whimsical features they May or may not stick. Can't help but think back to all the comments of the MK1 pics of people saying "but Nintendo fans say graphics don't matter." Drex1981 — 1/24/2025 10:17 AM The only iteration I was interested in was the DS Lite. That was a massive step up over the regular DS. I could care less about the PS4 pro or PS5 pro. Your Wallet's Defense Attorney — 1/24/2025 3:19 PM I kinda just don't really take notice of them DoubleD — 1/24/2025 3:19 PM I definitely get more excited about Nintendo console iterations, but will also always get the next PlayStation console as well, just because that's where the new games are going to be. I will say that I actually delayed my purchase of the PS5 for a while, because initially there weren't many games that I was interested in that weren't also available on the PS4. Regarding mid gen iterations, it's all about the bang for the buck. When the PS4 Pro came out, I was upgrading my TV to a 4K one, so I was motivated to upgrade to the Pro as well to get the most out of the TV, and was very happy with the decision. I also got a Switch lite during the pandemic because my wife was hogging my Switch with Animal Crossing, but now it's just collecting dust.
