Killer Sally The Documentary- What Netflix Got Wrong
2026/04/15
The story of Sally McNeil and the murder of her husband Ray McNeil has generated a lot of buzz since “Killer Sally” was in the top 10 of Netflix shows, both globally and in the US in 2022.While watching and then re-watching the three part series, something didn’t sit well with our host, historian Kristi Hawthorne. There’s always more to the story and she always wants to know more. That's what we love about her work! In this episode, she shares a different perspective about the murder of Ray.Sally repeatedly claimed in the series that her body building husband was an abuser and that she was a battered wife – and was left with no choice but to shoot her husband in self defense. However, Sally’s testimony to the Parole Board in 2019 and 2020 offers a completely different version of events that led up to her shooting of her unarmed husband.Kristi has obtained court documents from the trial, which includes written statements and police reports that documented Sally’s long list of violence against teenagers, her husbands, neighbors, women and police officers. The prosecutor stated that Sally was one of the most violent offenders he had ever prosecuted. In this episode, Kristi sits down with her co-host Porsche Locker to discuss what the documentary missed. Sure, we encourage you to watch the documentary, but don't miss the Coastal Crimes version. Then, it will all make sense! The Killer Sally story as told by Porsche & Kristi, Coastal Crimes! This bonus episode of Same Business Business Different Day podcast is to tell you about a brand new podcast called Coastal Crimes. You don't want to miss what these ladies have in store! Please follow them: YouTube & Spotify- CoastalCrimesPod Instagram- @CoastalCrimes760 Stay tuned for more and please like, subscribe, and tell everyone you know.

Remembering Miguel de Jesus
2025/12/05
No matter how successful of an entrepreneur you are, you could still use good coaching and mentoring.  Late in my business journey, I met Miguel and found just that.  A brilliant man that reinvigorated my passions and opened my business mind to more possibilities. We lost Miguel the day after Thanksgiving, and that’s sad for our business community. Fortunately, he left so much information behind, written and spoken. Carrying it on is how he lives on. You’ll find some of this great information in this episode of our podcast. If you never met him, welcome to Miguel! And even if you’ve heard this episode, I encourage you to re-listen and re-learn. RIP Miguel.[[original description]]Before Christmas trees fill up all of our usual stores, we are gifted with a conversation with one of the best teachers around today. And, like Santa, Miguel delivered! A wise man once said that he feels smarter every time he sits down with Miguel. We believe that you will feel the same after this episode. In this episode, we discuss Miguel's early life including never being told "no" by his mother, and how that played a part in his growth & confidence. We discuss his corporate experience and the effect that had on his mentality in business today, including his approach to being an "intrepreneur" & an entrepreneur. Either take notes or listen multiple times to this one-of-a-kind conversation, a masterclass, with the one & only Miguel deJesus. This episode was brought to you by A Different Day Radio and its podcasts- Industry Insights, Run It By My Lawyer, Velocity- The Vista Chamber podcast, and Odd Pairing. A special thanks to our sponsors YourInsurancePlace.com & StarFox Media. Please like, subscribe, and review each of our episodes and be sure to tell others about us.

Surprise, it’s us again—back with another special bonus episode from the Experience Encanto series! In this episode, we had the honor of sitting down with an incredible leader and voice for empowerment, Idara Ogunsaju—owner of The Antorge Group and author of The Confidence Talk: I Said Soar. In this conversation, we dug deep into one of Idara’s most passionate missions: rebuilding confidence in women in the workplace. She breaks down the “why,” the “how,” and the real impact she’s seeing through her work at The Antorge Group. And of course, we also talked about the Encanto Experience itself—what it means for the community, for creators, and for the future of culturally rooted professional development. If you want to learn more about Idara’s work, you can find her at antorgegroup.com or on Instagram @antorgegroup. Compassionate Closers Only With Tina Tinoco
2024/05/07
In this episode, our host Zeke Corley has the pleasure of sitting down with one of the brilliant minds behind the growth (no pun intended) of Tradecraft Farms. Moving alot throughout her childhood, she learned how to adapt easily and even used school recess as an opportunity to learn more. She learned good work ethics from her mother, and continues to use some of those methods to this day! So much more to her story, but you’ll have to press play to hear it yourself. We’re happy to welcome a true sales technician, and all around good person to the Same Business Different Day podcast. Enjoy our conversation with Tina Tonoco!

2024/04/23
Welcome back to the Same Business Different Day podcast with host Zeke Corley! Zeke met today's guest Nicolina at a networking event last month, where she and a number of her peers from Cal State San Marcos were fulfilling an assignment to network with local business owners. One of her other requirements was to interview local business owners, so Zeke said "Why not use my platform?" She has an impressive list of accolades that are only made more special once you hear her story! Carving Out 1 Million “Win-Wins” with Chris Kydd
2024/03/26
In this episode, our host Zeke Corley sits with Chris Kydd who has come a long way from his childhood aspiration of becoming a grocery store clerk. Chris is now the Publisher of the Coast News Group, a business started by his father in his garage in 1987. At a young age, Chris started on the ground floor with the Coast News. Learning to work in a family business isn’t easy. He eventually went off to college, studied abroad, matured, and changed his perspective. He humbly accepts his current position as Publisher, and takes his job more seriously than he would if he hadn’t. Keeping objective principles in these polarizing times isn’t easy for a community paper, especially while many have been saying that “newspaper is dead” for over 10 years. Chris’ energy and perspective should be infectious to the good people among us. We are glad that he has our community’s best interest in mind. Enjoy this episode. Thanks to our Sponsors!
