Her children are good friends of mine and we have had great opportunities to share meals together, which has definitely showcased what Linda has taught them. Everyone has had cheap supermarket cupcakes and those are great for a kid's birthday but Amber Ryan from A & A Cakery wants adults to be able to have fun with her specialty boozy cupcakes. Had a great time talking about growing and experimenting in the kitchen with Grace Jones this week. Grace is a photographer by trade and general grower/homesteader outside of that. I really enjoyed seeing her garden, house in general and all of the little fermentation experiments and dried herbs around the house. Kelsey and Jenny's skills complement each other perfectly and it shows through their passion for food and peanut butter. After hearing many good things about their peanut butters I had to have Peanut Butter and Jenny on the show and it was great meeting them. Jenny is the mind behind the butters and everything inside the jar while Kelsey manages branding and everything outside the jar. So cool to see how they can complement each other's weaknesses and create a great business. LL & Josh from the Instagram account HippieBillyHomestead join me to talk about how important growing their own food is, what it means to cook and eat with family as well as some childhood food memories from apple pie to enchiladas. It was interesting for me to learn about how each of their family histories led them to try to be more self-sustainable and grow a significant amount of their food. I had the pleasure of visiting the Fairfield County Fair a few weeks ago with Trish and Ken from Preston Family Farms and it was so good getting to know them, about 4H, OSU Extension and had the opportunity to follow up with two of their three daughters after the fair. It was so interesting to experience the fair from a farming perspective and hear about what Lauren and Emma are up to at Ohio State as they pursue careers I usually don't hear much about.
