For our Palette Cleanser episode between seasons, Tyler finally gets to live his sick and twisted fantasy of covering the 2019 reboot of Hellboy. They also try out a new format for the Palette Cleanser, where instead of covering the film after viewing/playing a drinking game, the film will be watched and discussed live. That's right -- you're officially invited to the most prestigious awards show of the year -- THE TOPPERS! To cap off their 2017 Miniseries, the boys are putting on a full show, complete with a surprise special guest as the host. Together they'll honor the films of 2017 most deserving in their eyes of the coveted Topper Award. And hey -- we may even do a few bits that don't really work in this one, I mean, maybe one of the hosts thinks it's really funny, but like the other two aren't into it. And it's a good bit! "Don't count your chickens before they hatch" -- For their #4 movie of 2017 the boys are covering their second Safdie Brothers film, Good Time. Tick tick tick tick tick. That's right, this week for their #7 movie of 2017, the boys are talking Christopher Nolan's war thriller Dunkirk. What about this film makes it so special to Dak, firmly planting it as his favorite movie of the year? Tune in as they delve into the rigorous production process, Nolan's precise, reserved direction, and Hoyte van Hoytema's career-best IMAX cinematography. Not to mention they get really side-tracked by Harry Styles's career, Valyrian and the City of a Thousand Planets, obscure drink combinations, and possibly the most unhinged opening to an episode yet.
