This week's topics are (in order) what happens when cars and what made Ralph Lauren famous,  another new all-electric SUV from a familiar brand with a familiar name that makes environmentalists lie awake at night, and Mercedes-AMG drops a mid-range model from their CLS line up. The hot topic of the week is paranoia over what cars drive around especially if they are family members, friends, and cops. Then the two hosts round off this show with guess that car sound and this one is very predictable but we'll just let you find that out on your own.

After a long, long, long, long, long, and long break, the boys are back to the mics as this week they discuss a couple of Japanese cars, one that is cheap and reliable while the other is just reliable but has a higher top speed as well as a lap time around the Nurburgring. Gus and Luke have successfully turned away every chance of getting sponsored in this episode. The tangents are just as high as the jokes are low.  Don't forget the rate us and leave a review which helps out a lot as well as tells the writer to stop being dumb.

In this episode, the guys talk about a brand new hybrid supercar from British car manufacturer McLaren and then the guys talk about a supercar that never came to be that was made by Yamaha? In their hot takes segment, things go a little haywire with the guys listing off their top five dream cars. For Guess that Car Sound, Luke decides to go with the engine note that comes from a hatchback trim born in rally racing across the world. This was a much longer episode due to the guys going on tangents and having an inability to control themselves, but there are still a lot of funny sound bites mixed in.

In this episode, the guys talk about some SUV's on steroids with some monster power coming soon, a 2.0L engine from Honda that can be placed in your old civic hatchback or apparently a Volvo station wagon, and then Gus decides to go with the iconic engine note that came from a legend of the late 1990's. This was a shorter episode due to time constraints and low energy, but there are still a lot of funny sound bytes.

On this episode of Conversation Street your hosts discuss, a bold and to be honest a bit of an  ignorant statement made by Mercedes-AMG about their hybrid hypercar that is still under development, Amazon has a new delivery van that is all-electric and built by the electric vehicle start up company Rivian, and who knew that Subaru made a twelve cylinder version of their iconic boxer engine that has powered many of their cars and still does to this day. As you, the listeners can imagine and if you have listened to this show before then tangents are a part of the show. The guys have an interesting start to guess that car sound, but it gets better after one them uses a sound from a car, not a different vehicle.  This episode was recorded on Wednesday February 3, 2021

After that we completely lose control of the show and start looking at modified pickup trucks and SUV’s. At the end, we had a battle of the car sounds where the cylinder difference between our choices was a huge six-cylinders. Disclaimer: This is a replay of our show that aired on 10/23/20.  On this episode of conversation street, my co-host Luke and I go over these three bits of automotive news, there is a massive pothole in the perfect road that Ferrari runs on caused by a recall of their major grand touring model, next we take an in-depth look at the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup truck, and then we talk about an absurd lease deal for a relatively new Bugatti Chiron. Our discussion about the news accidentally, turned into hot takes with Luke so that was an interesting moment. After that interesting news session, we had the second “guess that car!” with Luke and he got it after four tries as well as some laughter thrown in the mix. After all of that, I roast our writers for no legitimate reason. Note: I said during “Guess that car sound” that the Lamborghini Aventador has a 7.0L V12 but that was not true as the engine is a 6.5L V12 like its predecessor, the Murcielago although the Murcielago has the 48 year old V12 first put in the 1963 350GT where it was 3.5 liters hence the name 350GT. The engine received upgrades and an increase in size over time. What? You’d really think they would leave the engine fitted with carburetors past 1990, that would be lucrative especially for a car that costs $239k.

On this "episode" of St. Norbert College's newest radio show, Conversation Street. This show is about cars, motorsports, and all things automotive. On this premiere episode, your host Gus will go over these four bits of news, some interesting looking cars that are in development, some cars that will be leaving the North American market, a cheap(-ish) allocation price for an all-electric pickup truck, and an SUV that has more power than necessary. Then after all of that, Gus does the first segment now known as “guess that car” where he plays a car sound and you the listener will guess what it is. This one can be heard at your local dragstrip, parking lot, golf course, or out front of a condo in Florida where someone is having a mid-life crisis. This was the first of two pilot episodes, because the show changed the week after this one was recorded.
