Description
Where we talk about life, honestly. The biggest left turn Society has taken was when we stopped having genuine conversation and I've volunteered as tribute to change that. There is no limit to the conversation only endless opportunities for learning, evolving, and embracing. I'm super excited for this dope journey and even more excited for the memories we'll make through every conversation. So be open minded during these talks and understand, I am just a Blagical Woman out here making the most out of the life I was given. In loving memory, My Mama

(S9: E1) Talking Life Honestly: Welcome Season 9
2026/09/14
Season NINE is officially upon us and I am SO excited for this season, family! There’s so many things that I hope I will be able to share with you guys through our usual honest conversation and good vibes! I am shaking the HonestlyHelen podcast up just a bit with a new segment (name TBD) and less guests which I get into in this introductory episode for Season Nine. All in all, I am so excited to be back recording and looking forward to the new season! As always, I hope you were able to pick up a gem or two, and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes. Until the next episode!

(S8: E12) Talking Life Honestly: Grounded
2026/06/16
So thankful I am the host of my own podcast & can make last minute pivots about topics. I had a topic planned and then I saw something that shifted my entire focus and I decided *boop*, new topic, in that moment! On this episode of talking life honestly, we are talking about being grounded. Life is always throwing a curveball at us and the more we understand ourselves, the more confident we feel in the decisions we have to make, and even ones we don't feel so confident in making, there's an understanding in that. I really was in a flow this episode and for it to be random validated myself which in itself was a full circle moment for the episode! As always, I hoped you were able to snag a gem or two, and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes.

(S8: E11) Talking Life Honestly: Human Moment(s)
2026/06/02
DISCLAIMER: HUMAN EPISODE. Listen at your own risk, LOL.
This episode is everywhere and in the same place, at the same time. Thank you in advance for deciding to listen. 3. Nonethelesss, I hope you were able to still gather a gem or two and if nothing else, able to appreciate the honesty of the vibe in this episode.

(S8:E10) Talking Life Honestly: Actions Speak Louder
2026/05/12
Another one in the books and you know what? I may be getting the hang of solo hosting, I’m not hating it as much. On today’s episode I talk about the way we show our change is through actions, and not just actions, consistent actions. The human experience is so vast that I doubt we are even remotely close to understanding how to really exist as efficiently as we could because we place limits on ourselves. We think too much about how the world perceives us versus how we perceive ourselves and how that impacts the way we experience life. Change is challenging. Change can be hard. Change has no bounds; it is not constrained by time, only our mindset. As always, I hope you were able to pick up a gem or two this episode, and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes!

(S8:E9) Talking Life Honestly: Showing Up
2026/04/28
Another Monday, another episode! Whew, is it just me or is time flying like there is no time for anything?! Aye! Nonetheless, time or not enough time, on this episode of Talking Life Honestly, we talk showing up! There was an incident that happened that made me just think of how we show up as people. How does how we show up impact where we show up? What does it look like when no-one is watching? When is everyone? The message is always the same for me: show up authentically and show up for you. As always, I hope you were able to pick a gem or two from this episode and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes!

(S8: E8) Talking Life Hoenstly: Expectations
2026/04/14
Can I just say, these solo dolo episodes are a different type of recording for sure haha. I promise I am still having guests, just adjusting when I don’t. Nonetheless, in this episode I talk about life expectations from a general lens. As a woman who has some seasoning to her now, I can say one of the things about life is that expectations can get us in trouble. Especially if we aren’t clear about certain things out loud or with ourselves. Not many of us are mind-readers, and I would argue even mind readers don’t always read other people’s expectations clearly. I challenge you to understand your own expectations with yourself before having such high ones with others. As always though, I hope you enjoyed the conversation, and if nothing else, picked up a gem or two!

(S8: E7) Talking Life Honestly: Digital Boundaries
2026/03/31
Digital Boundaries! Have you heard of it? Do you have any? This world is even crazier than it was before and it's being recorded in real time more than ever. Which means we have access to some pretty intense media and how we choose to consume that media is important. What you choose to watch every day with endless scrolling impacts the way you think which impacts the way you show up and we know that has an impact for sure. Being mindful of the quality of your algorithm or timeline is just as important as the quality of people you allow in your life as a whole. As always, I hope you were able to pick up a gem or two and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes.

(S8:E6) Talking Life Honestly: Epiphanies
2026/03/17
I promise I am not playing in y’alls faces with these episodes 😩. February was an adventurous month and then March was here…and time got away from me; so instead of allowing stressing about the late-ness, I embraced it...and maybe a little too long, apologies. Nonetheless, BACK and with the same honest energy and wanted to share some insights or epiphanies as one may call them during my absence. I hope you were able to gather a gem or two, and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes.

(S8: E5) Talking Life Honestly: Self-made
2026/02/03
The urban dictionary's definition of Self made: when someone who acquires their wealth/success on their own and do not inherit or win it. It takes time and persistence to become successful and if you've put in the work then that's declared self made. In this episode, I had the pleasure of talking to my girl Yashica, who is a fellow Podcaster (and black woman!) for the first episode of Black History Month—talk about God's timing! One thing about my girl Yashica, she is going to speak her mind and speak it confidently! I know it’s going to be a good episode when I know the edits will be minimal because the conversation is so natural. Yashica and I talk about the complexities of being self-made, the beauty of it, and what it can look like. One thing for sure, and two things for certain: betting on yourself will always be a sure thing, do it. As always, there were many great gems dropped that I hope you were able to catch, and if nothing else, I hope you enjoyed the vibes!
“When you want the best for you, you gotta want the best for other people.”

(S8: E4) Talking Life Honestly: Intentional Decisions
2026/01/13
Being a podcaster has sharpened my ability to public speak, however it never beats having someone also be a natural in-front of a mic to help make for a beautiful conversation. In this episode, I welcome my girl Ashton back and this time we talk intentionality which led us to the importance of the decisions we make. Life is unpredictable and we get one shot at it; we don't know half of what we should yet have to make important decisions from that information.
Be kind to yourself. Make intentional decisions.

Helen
(S8: E3) Talking Life Honestly: Underestimated
2025/12/30
THANK YOU in advance for bearing through the tech issues during this episode 🥲, One thing tech is gonna do, is tech when it wants to 😒!
What I will say is this was probably one of my calmest vibes recorded LOL and on this day Dara and I were both more mellow than our usual selves–that didn’t stop the show as you know ;) In this episode I got the pleasure of recording with one of my first friends I met in the Bay (if you want another glimpse into how I make my friends haha) and the focus was underestimation, being underestimated. We touched on what that can look like (representation!), and some ways that we can challenge that. Remember: alot of obstacles can stem from how we view the world.I hope a gem or two was captured in this episode for you, and if nothing else, the vibes were enjoyed!

(S8: E2) Talking Life Honestly: Church + God +God + Church
2025/12/16
I would be lying if I said I wasn't just a little anxious about posting this episode. Religion is a sensitive topic and I honestly never thought I'd do a religious topic on the HH podcast because I did have Church trauma. However, when the stars align and things kind of just work out; you trust the process. I had the pleasure of talking Church & God with one of my dearest friends, Jeremy. This is not your traditional take on Church & God which is exactly the way I wanted it to be. This conversation did some healing for me and I genuinely hope you all are able to take a gem or two, and if nothing else, enjoyed the vibes.
SN: I'm still me, so language is strong in this episode, please be advised. & due to the nature of the context, if anything requires clarity or you'd like to talk more, let me know!

(S8: E1) Talking Life Honestly: Can We Talk?
2025/12/02
It’s tiiiimmmmeeeee (in my MC voice!) Season 8 is officially here! To start this season off, I wanted to just talk with ya’ll, catch you up on some things and thoughts of mine, nothing too crazy. (S7:E12) Talking Life Honestly: Secret Sauce
2025/07/29
& this episode wraps up another HonestlyHelen Season, Blagicals! During this season, life has been so full of growth opportunities for me that I can only feel Blessed, Grateful, Loved, Challenged, all of it! On this episode, I talk about Secret Sauce and how that looks for me professionally and personally. It's up to YOU, to show up for YOU, and more importantly, up to YOU, to show up authentically. I hope you were able to grab a couple gems from this episode, and if nothing else, enjoyed the good vibes! Until next Season, my Blagical family!

(S7: E11) Talking Life Honestly: Growth
2025/07/04
Happy Julyteenth! 🖤❤️💛😌
Here we are again with the Birthday Twin, Jay! Jay is one of my guests who has been on the HH podcast the most because he has always been a supporter of the HH movement, so genuinely, thank you Jay, for being such a steady and honest supporter. The beauty of having a podcast that isn’t confined to a conversation agenda will always be appreciating the fluidity of conversation. In this episode we talk ‘growing up;’ how our mindsets change as we age, as we get new information about how that impacts our decision making. We touched on so much in this episode (while having a fun time!) and Jay said it so well – “givers have to set limits because takers don’t have any” – that can apply to so many things in life as it pertains to growth. There were so many good gems dropped in this episode that I hope you are able to grab a few, and if nothing else, enjoy the good vibes!

Helen
