Your Resilience is Real
2026/09/27
Your resilience is real, but what if you’ve been using it to survive outdated stories instead of create a better life? If you’re tired of repeating old patterns, speaking against yourself, or letting the world decide who you become, this episode is your invitation to disrupt the narrative today.
Sierra Clark of *Beyond the Story Hearts Talk Podcast* delivers a raw, spiritual, and deeply personal reflection on what it means to move from the victim of your story to the hero of it. She examines how systemic oppression, painful experiences, fear, and self-criticism can shape the way you see yourself, while challenging you to recognize the power you still hold in your words, choices, character, and daily actions.
You’ll discover:
- The meaning behind the powerful acronym **D.O.N’T. — Disrupt Outdated Narratives Today**
- How resilience can be exploited while you’re being made to feel powerless
- Why the most damaging words may be the ones you repeatedly say to yourself
- How “self-violence” appears when you continue living from a narrative that no longer serves you
- Why self-care, reflection, journaling, and “pillow talks” with yourself are essential forms of self-respect
- How to respond from your higher self instead of simply reacting from fear, anger, or hurt
Sierra also explores the tension between being a spiritual being and navigating the very real emotions of human life. Being your “superlative self” does not mean never crying, feeling angry, or struggling. It means learning to honor those emotions without allowing them to control every decision you make.
This is soul medicine for anyone who has been shaped by trauma, marginalization, difficult relationships, self-doubt, or years of putting everyone else first. The story may have influenced you, but it does not have to remain your identity.
Press play when you’re ready to stop being a weapon against yourself, reclaim your voice, and begin disrupting what no longer serves the person you are becoming.
**A better you equals a better me.**
Are you the weapon formed against yourself??
2026/09/26
We’ve been told that God will make the trials and tribulations of life work together for our good. Are you waiting around for God to do what he said are you proactive and assisting yourself in the ways the universe desires to show up for you?
Living to leave a statement. Not just inherited narratives, family values, and intentional living.
2026/06/27
The story started with something simple: seeing Christmas trees displayed in October.
What seems harmless is often a lesson in how easily we are conditioned to think ahead, consume more, and measure our value through man-made traditions and expectations. Long before the season arrives, we are already being told what to want, what to buy, and what our families should look like.
In this episode, I challenge us to be present and to ask deeper questions about the narratives we inherit. Do we truly need commercialization to define joy, love, generosity, or greatness? Have we allowed outside stories to interrupt the values we are trying to build within our own households?
We never needed a white Santa Claus coming down the chimney to determine whether our children were naughty or nice. The work of shaping character, teaching responsibility, and cultivating love belongs to parents, grandparents, and the village that surrounds them. When outside narratives become more powerful than the values within our homes, they can create division rather than connection.
This conversation is not about taking away wonder—it is about reclaiming it. It is about recognizing when we are being sold an identity, a tradition, or a need that was never ours to begin with. It is an invitation to stay grounded, to protect our family narratives, and to remember that our greatest gifts have never come wrapped in commercialization.
Be present. Question the story. Build your own.
Intro to The Black Friday (investment) Series
2026/06/27
We are the change. Every part of your life add value. Don’t just let others capitalize off it.

Sometimes the issue Is U!! The Cost of Carrying Old Stories Into New Spaces
2026/06/27
Sometimes the very thing standing in the way of our growth isn’t the opportunity, the people, or the environment—it may be our own perspective, fears, or the stories we’ve carried for far too long.
In this episode, I take a deeper look at the word issue and why I intentionally spell it ISSU—“Is You.” Not as blame, but as an invitation to self-reflection and personal accountability. Because sometimes, the issue is us.
We often pray for new doors, new relationships, new partnerships, and new beginnings while bringing old narratives, insecurities, survival patterns, and limiting beliefs into those very spaces. The mechanisms we developed to protect ourselves can unintentionally become barriers that prevent us from experiencing the outcomes we truly desire.
This episode is a double tap—a loving challenge to examine what we carry into new opportunities and to ask ourselves: Am I making room for something new, or am I recreating old experiences with new people and places?
Growth requires honesty. Transformation requires awareness. And sometimes, healing begins when we are willing to admit that the issue isn’t always outside of us—it may be ISSU.
“New opportunities cannot always thrive in old narratives. Sometimes, before the story changes around us, the story within us must change first.”

Beyond the Story (Hearts Talk) Podcast
Sierra wants to ask one bold question: What do we do with Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream—today?
Rooted in Dr. King’s call to deep thinking and justice in action, this work challenges half-baked solutions and invites us to live justice out loud—in our homes, our jobs, our communities, and our systems. This is Heart Ecology™ in motion.
From dreaming to Living Out Loud, that is how history is embodied more than just knowing it. The only way to make it come to life—not as a commemoration, but as a living practice. This moment is about honoring Dr. King’s legacy by embodying it—thinking deeply, engaging honestly, and choosing to live justice out loud together.

It’s Not a New Year — It’s a New Opportunity Beyond the Story (Hearts Talk) Podcast
2026/01/02
If you’re already two days into the “new year” and wondering why everything still feels the same — this episode is for you.
In this short Hearts Talk, Sierra gently disrupts the pressure of “New Year, New Me” culture and invites listeners into something deeper: a new opportunity instead of a forced reset.
We talk about:
why the calendar doesn’t change your life
how the Gregorian calendar shaped our idea of “new beginnings”
why nothing shifts externally until something moves internally
what it really means to be a superlative being
and how intention, not time, is what transforms our lives
This episode is a grounding, a reminder, and a soft awakening for anyone feeling behind, tired, or pressured to perform change instead of live it.
Welcome to the opportunity. Not a new year — a deeper one.

(Keep Blooming) Black Friday Investment Series 5
2025/12/04
Beyond the Story Hearts Talk Podcast, Ciara M. Clark delves into the SMC way—Soulful, Mindful, and Continuous—encouraging listeners to break free from limiting beliefs and embrace their highest potential.
Main Content:
1. **Understanding the SMC Way**
Sierra introduces the SMC way as a framework for personal growth. She emphasises that S stands for Soulful, M for Mindful, and C for Continuous. This approach encourages individuals to continuously engage with their inner selves, allowing for personal transformation. She notes, "This is a continuum of bursting ourselves off and getting ourselves back up again."
2. **The Concept of Superlative-ness**
Exploring the term "superlative," Ciara defines it as being in our highest form. She shares how understanding this concept shifted her narrative, reminding listeners that no matter their circumstances, they remain their superlative selves. She states, "When you realize that you are your highest degree in your highest form, no matter what happens, you are still your superlative self."
3. **Breaking Predated Narratives**
A significant portion of the discussion revolves around the impact of predicated narratives—beliefs shaped by our upbringing, society, and self-doubt. Ciara urges listeners to recognize and challenge these limiting beliefs, sharing personal anecdotes that highlight her journey of overcoming self-doubt and negativity. "We find ourselves believing in predated narratives about ourselves, which leads to self-hate and stinky thinking," she explains.
4. **The Black Friday Investment Series**
As the episode wraps up a special series, Sierra emphasises shifting the focus from consumerism to self-investment. She introduces the acronym BLACK, which stands for Break cycles, Learn yourself, Align your story, Choose conscious connections, and Keep blooming. Each component encourages listeners to take actionable steps toward personal growth, transforming their narratives from victimhood to empowerment.
5. **Historical Context and Resilience**
Ciara discusses the importance of understanding our history as a foundation for growth. Drawing on her personal experiences and cultural narratives, she highlights the resilience of the Black community, emphasising that despite obstacles, the ability to rebuild and innovate remains strong. "No matter how many obstacles Black communities have faced, we always can rebuild, re-innovate, restore, and re-imagine," she asserts.
Conclusion:
The episode serves as a powerful reminder that we all have the capacity to transcend our limiting beliefs and embrace our true selves. By breaking free from predated narratives and investing in ourselves, we can cultivate a life that reflects our highest potential. As Ciara beautifully states, "You are fully capable of blooming from what you have gone through."
Key Takeaways:
- Embrace the SMC way: Soulful, Mindful, and Continuous.
- Recognise and challenge predicated narratives that limit your potential.
- Focus on self-investment rather than consumerism, especially during times like Black Friday.
- Understand your history to inform your future and cultivate resilience.

(Align Your Story) Black Friday Investment Series Episode 3
2025/12/01
The episode delves into the significance of questioning societal narratives, particularly around consumer-oriented holidays like Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Sierra reflects on the irony of being told when to be thankful while recognising the pain and history behind such celebrations. She passionately argues for the need to disrupt these outdated narratives, encouraging listeners to invest in themselves rather than succumbing to societal pressures.
Introducing the Black Friday Investment Series, Sierra explains that this initiative is not about shopping but about personal investment. "This is about you investing in you," she asserts, inviting listeners to explore their inner worlds and healing. The acronym "BLACK" is introduced as a framework for this journey, standing for:
B - Break Cycles
L - Learn Yourself
A - Align Your Story
C - Choose Conscious Connections
K - Keep Blooming
Each component serves as a stepping stone towards self-improvement, urging individuals to take actionable steps in their lives.
Sierra discusses the historical context of Black Friday, revealing its origins tied to market crashes and economic exploitation. She calls attention to the systemic issues that continue to affect marginalised communities, emphasising that many people are trapped in cycles of consumerism that benefit only a select few. "Legacies disrupted by someone else's greed" resonates throughout her narrative, prompting listeners to reflect on their own roles in these cycles.
