Professor Tom Crosby OBE
2024/09/25
Prof Tom is a Consultant Oncologist in Velindre Cancer Centre and Clinical Lead for the Wales Cancer Network.
Tom and Jon met on one of the many charity walks done in aid of Velindre. Jon found he had so many questions about cancer, and felt so informed having spoken to Tom... that he wanted to share that conversation with the Crack On audience.
The fact is that cancer will impact every single one of us, either directly or indirectly. So, it's worth being informed. In this episode you'll find out what signs to look for, when to present yourself to a Doctor to get checked out and how to support people you are close to if cancer affects them.
You'll also get to know Tom the man - hugely inspirational, purpose-driven and determined to improve health for all.
Gwyn Morris (Part 2)
2024/09/04
Gwyn Morris is Head of the Faculty of Sport at Whitchurch High School in Cardiff. Many big name international stars have come through the Sports Faculty during his time at Whitchurch - Gareth Bale, Sam Warburton and Geraint Thomas to name just three.
Gwyn downplays his role in the success of these "stars", but it's clear from Part 2 of Jon's interview with Gwyn... that the "I can" mindset he tries to give all his pupils, has helped so many kids reach their potential.
A particular highlight of this episode is Gwyn's re-framing of the pressure of a big event (say a Cup Final, or even a job interview or presentation at work) - the approach he teaches is one that can help anyone in any situation where the stakes are high and nerves could easily take over.
