Built to Lead - Week 2
2026/11/01
Godly Leaders see influence as an opportunity to serve. Jesus loved the disciples with purpose and with the end in mind. Jesus led with attention not intention. Jesus didn't need to prove his authority. Sometimes the people we lead don't want us to lead. Sometimes the people we lead don't understand the decisions we make. Decision making hack: Does the decision I'm making honor Jesus? Jesus shows them how to lead with a towel instead of a title. The best leaders show how it's done before they tell how it's done. Typical leadership finds a way to control people rather than lead people. Godly leaders serve rather than control. Each of us has the unique opportunity to influence unique people. What does it take to lead others well? You are leading someone somewhere. Are you the kind of leader you would want to follow? Who are the people I can uniquely lead? What is one way I can serve them this week?

Built to Lead - Week 1
2026/10/25
Godly Leaders follow Jesus closely and influence others to do the same. Everyone who has received the Gospel has received a call to influence others. Choose what you value most, not what you want now. What you store in your heart will overflow into your life and onto other people. If I'm going to be a Godly leader... What inputs need to change and what is one habit I need to start or stop this week?

Is He Worth It? - Week 4
2026/10/18
Jesus gives a command and a promise. Peter and John are clear on what they believe. Being a disciple of Jesus is going to cost you social capital. It may cost you your reputation. The disciples celebrated what it cost them to be disciples of Jesus. Who needs you to go to the end of the earth? What would you give for God to say that to you one day?

Is He Worth It - Week 3
2026/10/11
How do I know if someone really means what they say? Your words define your intent. Your actions prove your commitment. Am I following Jesus with my words or actions. There's a difference between someone who is simply following someone who's a disciple of Jesus. The goal is to love Jesus so deeply that everything else seems worthless. In the simplest terms it should be clear if we are obedient or not. Do everything you can to bear the fruit of a joy-filled life surrendered to Jesus. Are there any areas of your life where obedience is lacking?

Is He Worth It - Week 2
2026/10/04
Who controls your money?
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking more money is the key to happiness and peace. In reality more money isn't the answer, it's controlling the money you have. Think about it...you can have all the money in the world but if your bills equal the same amount as your income, it's gone instantly. But if your expenses are less than your income you have more margin to work with. More margin equals more freedom. How do we create more margin? By spending our money in a way that honors God instead of chasing what the world has to offer. Everyone is vying for your money and if we aren't careful, we will give it away to quickly to people who just want to make their own money. But God isn't in the money-making business. He owns it all already. You're not a stream of income to him, you are a steward of what he gave you and he wants you to be successful.
If we say yes to Jesus, it should impact everything, including our money. He wants you to control your money not the other way around. So, how do we follow Jesus with our money? That's what we're going to talk about this week.

Is He Worth It - Week 1
2026/09/27
We ask ourselves this question every day, "Is it worth it?"
You might even ask this before you open your eyes in the morning. "Is the snooze button worth it?" Then you ask it as you make your lunch. "Is it worth it to buy lunch today or should I just pack what we have?"vYou ask it about your time. "Is the event really worth the drive, the ticket, the parking?" You ask it about taking on a new role. "Is the increase in pay worth the increase in responsibility?" Every decision boils down to worth. What about Jesus? Is he worth it? He lays out a pretty steep price tag when he talks about following him: Pick up your cross daily. That's a lot of heavy lifting. It begs the question, Is He Worth It? Over the next four weeks we're going to look at aspects of the Christian life and consider whether it is truly worth it to follow Jesus.

Mark - Week 19
2026/09/20
The Temple was destroyed in AD 70 by the Romans in response to a Jewish revolt. Jesus is likely describing life for the disciples and followers of Jesus until AD 70 in these verses. Things get bad. But Jesus is coming back.
What do we do with all of this?
1. Hold on to God's word.
2. Don't panic, Don't fear, Don't worry.
3. Live like you are eagerly awaiting Jesus' return.
Offer help and hope to a world that needs it.

Mark - Week 18
2026/09/13
Every aspect of who we are is completely and totally his. A shallow version of Christianity will fail 100% of the time. Offering who we are is a greater sacrifice than offering what we do. Sacrificial worship weighs more than comfortable worship.
- Am I spending time and resources where I shouldn't?
- How should I be spending them?
- What is my plan to make these changes happen?

Mark - Week 17
2026/09/06
Imagine Jesus walking into this room right now the same kind, yet stern authority. What does he actually find in you?
What can Jesus cleanse you of today?
A Practical Step:
- Let Jesus in — invite him, in his full authority, to work on your heart.
- Revisit the "Forgiveness 101" on GFC's YouTube channel.
- Ask: to who, or for what, is Jesus calling me to forgive?
What is one thing God is speaking to me through this passage?
Who or what do I need to bring to Jesus for forgiveness or cleansing?

Mark - Week 16
2026/08/31
Eternal life is found in what Jesus has done, not what we can do. There's a reason the first commandment is the first commandment... It is impossible for any person to save themselves. It is only by the grace of God. How have you placed what you want ahead of what Jesus wants?

Mark - Week 15
2026/08/23
Jesus was not here to be efficient, He was here to be effective. Moses reflected God's glory. This is the real glory of God on display. We are all on a journey with Jesus. Your journey should not be compared to others. Knowing who Jesus is makes what He did meaningful. Jesus expects us to be working while He is away. Jesus gave the disciples power and authority before sending them out. Do you know Jesus and are you sharing Jesus with others and introducing them to Him?
Application:
Point someone to Jesus.
Spend time in prayer thanking Jesus for His faithfulness - 3 separate occasions.
Share a moment Jesus showed up in your life with someone.
Bring Jesus up in a conversation.

Mark - Week 14
2026/08/16
Faith is not immune to influences. Faith is not a blind step in the dark, but it is a walk in a dark world. Faith does not require mastery, but it does require trust in the master.

Mark - Week 13
2026/08/10
Traditions can easily become defining principles. It is always easier to dress up the outside rather than evaluating the inside. If your lips say it but your heart isn't in it, then it's not worship. Both sin and worship are acts of the heart.
What kinds of words, actions, and attitudes naturally flow from your heart?

Real Rest - Week 5
2026/08/02
How do we really find rest in all that life requires? Rest is illusive when life isn't fulfilling. Taking time off can't fix the way we spend our time on. Finding joy in the experience of a relationship with the God of heaven will give your life meaning. We serve a God who can take meaningless tasks and make meaningful moments. Real rest experiences the goodness of God and savors the moment.
Challenge: Slow down during meaningful moments.

Real Rest - Week 4
2026/07/26
Rest is a gift and commandment from God. Real Rest is seeing ourselves as the objects of God's favor, grace, peace, and mercy. Real rest is living at a pace and in a place sustained by Jesus. Have we concerned ourselves with what matters? We can be so worried about the details that we miss the big picture. Following Jesus means choosing Him over our to-do list. Have you spent time beholding God recently? Why do we behold tiny screens with useless details rather than the greatness of our creator and savior? Real Rest is taking time to behold Jesus. See. Reflect. Transform.
Challenge: Find a time this week to behold God in a real way.
