JR also sits 5th in the list of all-time BSB race winners, 3rd overall in terms of podium finishes and also won a World Superbike race as a wildcard.   John retired at the end of the 2005 due to serious injuries but remains a welcome face at races and events as a Suzuki ambassador. For the fourth episode of our Torqueing Heads - Superbike Sunday series we talk to the extremely likeable and cheery, John Mowatt - Team Coordinator for the reigning Bennetts British Superbike champions, the VisionTrack PBM Ducati team. Former Crew Chief to Shane Byrne and Glenn Irwin, John assumed the responsibility of Team Co-ordinator in 2018. He has worked for PBM for over 12 years and has been responsible for much of the team’s success in recent years with Shane Byrne (champion in 2016 and 2017), Scott Redding (2019) and Josh Brookes (2020). He's also worked with the likes of Tom Sykes, Noriyuki Haga, Ben Bostrom, Michael Rutter and John McGuinness in the past.

He was fighting for the 2020 championship up until the final round in the debut season for the radical new Fireblade, Northern Ireland’s Glenn Irwin was still proud to walk away knowing he could push the pre-season favourites of Brookes and Iddon all the way. Exclusive interview as Michael Mann asks Triumph's Chief Engineer, Stuart Wood, about the heavily updated 2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. The entire bike is new from engine capacity to gearbox ratios, chassis, riding position, and most importantly the power-to-weight increase of 26% over the previous generation (2018). 177bhp vs. 198kg (wet).
