Eyes on Jesus
2026/05/27
Welcome to the 412 Students Podcast! In this episode, we explore Gospel of Mark 9:1–13 and the incredible moment known as the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. On the mountain, Jesus reveals His glory before Peter the Apostle, James the Apostle, and John the Apostle, showing that He is far greater than a prophet or teacher—He is the Son of God. We’ll talk about why the appearance of Moses and Elijah matters, what God meant when He said, “Listen to Him,” and how this passage strengthens our faith in who Jesus truly is. We’ll also discuss how the disciples struggled to understand Jesus’ mission and resurrection, just like many people do today. Join us as we unpack the glory of Christ, the importance of listening to His Word, and the hope believers have because Jesus is King. “This is my beloved Son; listen to him.” — Mark 9:7
More Than a Name: Knowing Jesus and What It Costs to Follow Him
2026/05/27
Welcome to the 412 Students Podcast! In this episode, we dive into Gospel of Mark 8:27–37 and one of the most important questions ever asked by Jesus Christ: “Who do you say that I am?” We’ll explore Peter the Apostle’s bold confession that Jesus is the Christ, and why following Jesus means more than knowing facts about Him—it means surrendering your life to Him. Jesus teaches that true discipleship requires denying yourself, taking up your cross, and following Him no matter the cost. This episode challenges students to consider what they are living for and reminds us that gaining the world is worthless if we lose our soul. Join us as we talk about identity, sacrifice, and what it really means to follow Jesus in today’s world. “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” — Mark 8:36

We’ll discuss the danger of spiritual blindness, the importance of trusting Jesus fully, and how the disciples struggled to understand who He truly was—even after witnessing miracle after miracle. This episode challenges students to examine their own hearts and ask: Are we truly seeing Jesus clearly? Join us as we unpack what it means to grow in faith, depend on Christ daily, and recognize that Jesus is still transforming lives today. “Do you not yet understand?” — Mark 8:21

Spy Wednesday
2026/04/02
In this episode, we examine the sobering moment when Judas Iscariot agrees to betray Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver and later carries out that betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Gospel of Matthew 26:14–16 and 47–50, Judas moves from secret agreement with the chief priests to the chilling act of identifying Jesus with a kiss. This passage highlights the depth of human sin, the tragic reality of betrayal, and the sovereign plan of God unfolding even in the darkest moment. While Judas acts out of greed and hardened unbelief, Jesus responds with calm authority and even addresses him as “friend,” showing His willingness to submit to the Father’s will. In this episode, we discuss: The motives behind Judas’s betrayalThe significance of the thirty pieces of silverThe shocking moment of betrayal in the gardenJesus’ response and what it reveals about His missionThis passage reminds us that even betrayal and evil cannot stop God’s redemptive plan. The arrest of Jesus sets in motion the events that lead to the cross—the very means by which salvation would be accomplished. Join us as we reflect on this powerful moment in the passion narrative and consider what it reveals about the human heart, loyalty to Christ, and the unfolding plan of redemption.
The Problem Within
2026/04/02
In this episode, we dive into Mark 7:1–23, where Jesus confronts the Pharisees and scribes over their obsession with outward religious traditions. When they accuse His disciples of eating with “unclean hands,” Jesus exposes the deeper problem: a heart that is far from God. Quoting Book of Isaiah, Jesus declares that empty traditions can replace genuine worship. He challenges the religious leaders for elevating human rules above God’s Word and calls His listeners to understand that true defilement does not come from external things, but from the sinful condition of the human heart.
Seeing the Savior in the Storm
2026/03/23
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we dive into Mark 6:45–56 and witness Jesus walking on water—revealing His authority over creation and His presence in the middle of life’s storms. As the disciples struggle against the wind, Jesus comes to them in a way they don’t expect. Instead of recognizing Him, they are terrified. Why? Because their hearts were hardened—they had just seen the miracle of the loaves, yet they still didn’t fully understand who He was. We unpack how easy it is to miss Jesus, even when He’s right in front of us. Like the disciples, we can experience His work but still fail to truly know Him. But in the middle of fear, Jesus speaks clearly: “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” This episode challenges students to consider:Are you recognizing Jesus in your life, or missing Him?Is your heart soft and responsive, or slowly becoming hardened? We also see the contrast as people in Gennesaret respond with faith—running to Jesus, bringing the sick, and believing even touching His garment could heal. The difference? They didn’t just see Jesus—they trusted Him.
Jesus, the Compassionate Shepherd Who Provides
2026/03/23
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we explore the powerful story of Jesus feeding the five thousand in Mark 6:33–44. What begins as a problem of scarcity becomes a powerful display of Christ’s compassion and provision. The disciples saw a crowd and a lack of resources—but Jesus saw an opportunity to shepherd people and reveal His power. With just five loaves and two fish, He provides more than enough for everyone, leaving no one empty. We unpack what this teaches us about who Jesus is: a compassionate Shepherd who cares deeply for His people, and a powerful Savior who provides beyond what we can imagine. When we feel like what we have isn’t enough—our time, our gifts, our faith—Jesus invites us to trust Him with it. This episode challenges students to ask:Will you focus on what you lack, or trust Jesus with what you have?Do you believe Jesus is truly enough in your life?
The Cost of a Guilty Conscience
2026/03/23
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we step into one of the most intense and sobering passages in the Gospel of Mark—Mark 6:14–32. The story of John the Baptist’s death forces us to wrestle with a hard question: What does it cost to stand for truth? We explore the guilt and fear of King Herod, the boldness of John the Baptist, and the tragic consequences of a compromised life. John spoke truth without fear, even when it meant confronting power—and it ultimately cost him his life. Meanwhile, Herod heard the truth, was intrigued by it, but refused to fully submit to it. This episode challenges students to think deeply:Are you just interested in truth, or are you committed to it?Do you stand firm when it’s hard, or shrink back when it costs you something? We also reflect on the disciples returning from ministry, showing us that while the mission is powerful, it can also be costly. Following Jesus isn’t always easy—but it is always worth it.
Sent, Rejected, Empowered
2026/03/23
In this episode of the 412 Students Podcast, we dive into Mark 6:1–13 and explore what happens when people become too familiar with Jesus to truly believe in Him. Why did Jesus face rejection in His hometown? And what does that teach us about our own hearts? We unpack how unbelief can blind us to the power of Christ, even when He’s right in front of us. Then we shift to Jesus sending out the twelve disciples—ordinary men entrusted with an extraordinary mission. What does it look like to live sent? How do we trust God when we step out in faith? This episode challenges students to examine their response to Jesus:Will you reject Him because He’s familiar, or trust Him as Lord? Will you stay comfortable, or step into the mission He’s given you? Jesus Is In The Boat
2026/02/01
In this episode, we walk through Mark 4:35–41, where Jesus calms the storm on the Sea of Galilee. As the disciples battle fear and exhaustion, Jesus sleeps—until He is awakened and speaks peace into the chaos with a word. This passage reveals not only Christ’s authority over creation, but also exposes the hearts of His followers. The storm outside mirrors the storm within, and Jesus’ gentle rebuke calls His disciples—and us—to deeper faith and trust. Ultimately, this text confronts us with the question that echoes across the boat: “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” This episode encourages believers to trust Christ’s sovereign power, even when He seems silent, and to rest in the assurance that the Lord of the storm is present in the boat.
