Faithless | Malachi 2:10-16
2026/10/18
#restorationtx Oct 18, 2026 • Ryan Welsh • Malachi 2:10-16 Malachi is the concise last book of the Old Testament, but its message is anything but small. The message of Malachi is loud. God brings charges against His people who have grown apathetic in half-hearted faith. The people had returned from exile, rebuilt the temple, and resumed the rhythms of worship, yet their hearts had cooled. Priests offered the Lord their sick and blemished leftovers, husbands broke covenant with their wives, and families withheld their offerings. Underneath it all, lay a corrosive doubt— a suspicion that God’s love and justice could no longer be trusted. The Lord, through the prophet Malachi, refuses to let this apathy go unnamed. He confronts His people’s excuses point by point, exposing worship that costs them nothing. Yet judgment is not the final word. God reaffirms His unchanging love and calls His people to return, promising that a messenger will come to prepare the way — a forerunner of the Lord Himself, bringing the “sun of righteousness” and healing in His wings. -- At Restoration Church, we preach through books of the Bible, alternating between books from the Old and New Testaments. Occasionally, instead of preaching through a single book, we’ll focus on a specific topic that our elders feel is important for our church family. Restoration Church is a Southlake, Texas, authentic, Gospel-centered church community focused on loving God, loving others, and making disciples everywhere. I Am the True Vine
2026/09/20
#restorationtx Sept 20, 2026 • Ryan Welsh • John 15:1-6 The Gospel of John presents seven I AM statements of Jesus Christ. Echoing God’s self-revelation as the great I AM in Exodus, these declarations reveal Jesus’ divine character and saving work. As each statement announces a different facet of his person and mission – the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and the True Vine – Christ repeatedly demonstrates that he alone satisfies the deepest needs of humanity. Psalm 112

#restorationtx #psalms Aug 2, 2026 • Bryan Smith • Psalm 112 Wisdom psalms instruct God’s people in faithful living. Drawing on themes prevalent in Proverbs and other wisdom literature, authors emphasize reverence for God and obedience to His Word. These reflective psalms are didactic in nature as they seek to shape the mind and heart through clear argumentation and edification. Wisdom psalms guide God’s people toward a life rooted in confidence, humility, and trust in the Lord. -- At Restoration Church, we preach through books of the Bible, alternating between books from the Old and New Testaments. Psalm 34
2026/07/19
#restorationtx #psalms July 19, 2026 • Mark Miller • Psalm 34 Psalms of thanksgiving respond to God’s deliverance with devotion and reverence. Typically recounting times of distress, the psalmist then details how the Lord provided and candidly acknowledges His steadfast love and faithfulness. Unlike psalms of lament, which cry out for assistance, these songs look back on God’s saving works and afterwards celebrate His deliverance. Authors often invite their audience to join them in giving thanks, turning personal experience into corporate worship. By remembering and proclaiming God’s goodness, a posture of gratitude is developed in God’s covenant people. -- At Restoration Church, we preach through books of the Bible, alternating between books from the Old and New Testaments.
