Colossians 1:24–29
2026/09/27
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on September 27, 2026.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:24–29, we consider the God-given mission of Christian ministry. Paul rejoices in suffering for the sake of Christ's church and explains that God has entrusted him with the proclamation of a once-hidden mystery now revealed: Christ in you, the hope of glory. The heart of faithful ministry is not human wisdom or personality but the faithful proclamation of Christ, warning and teaching every believer so that they may be presented mature in Him. This passage reminds us that all true spiritual growth is accomplished through Christ's power at work within His people and that every believer should labor toward the maturity of the church for the glory of God.

Colossians 1:21–23
2026/09/20
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on September 20, 2026.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:21–23, we rejoice in the transforming power of the gospel. Paul reminds believers of what they once were—alienated from God, hostile in mind, and engaged in evil deeds—but also declares what Christ has accomplished through His death. By His sacrificial work on the cross, Jesus has reconciled His people to God so that they might stand before Him holy, blameless, and beyond reproach. This passage calls Christians to persevere in the faith, remaining firmly grounded in the hope of the gospel, confident that the God who reconciles sinners is faithful to keep them to the end.

This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on September 13, 2026.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:15–20, we behold the unrivaled glory of Jesus Christ. Paul presents Christ as the eternal Son of God, the Lord of creation, and the head of His church. All things were created through Him and for Him, and in Him all things hold together. Through His death on the cross, He has reconciled sinners to God, securing peace by His blood. Because Christ is supreme over all creation and supreme over His redeemed people, He alone is worthy of our worship, our trust, and our wholehearted devotion.

Colossians 1:9-14
2026/09/06
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on September 6, 2026.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:9–14, we consider Paul's prayer for the spiritual growth of God's people. Rather than focusing on earthly success or comfort, Paul prays that believers would be filled with the knowledge of God's will, walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, bear fruit in every good work, and grow in the knowledge of God. He reminds us that God Himself supplies the strength we need to endure with joy because He has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints, delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us into the kingdom of His beloved Son. This passage encourages every Christian to pursue spiritual maturity with confidence in the saving grace and sustaining power of Christ.

Colossians 1:3–8
2026/08/30
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on August 30, 2026.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:3–8, we discover the marks of a healthy church and a thriving Christian life. Paul begins his letter by thanking God for the Colossians because of their faith in Christ, their love for all the saints, and the hope laid up for them in heaven. These graces are not produced by human effort but grow from the transforming power of the gospel. As the Word of truth bears fruit throughout the world, it also bears fruit in the lives of those who truly know the grace of God. This message calls believers to examine the fruit of the gospel in their own lives and to rejoice in God's ongoing work through His Word.

Colossians 1:1–2
2026/08/23
This is the morning sermon from Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on August 23, 2026, and the first message in our new series through the book of Colossians.
In this sermon from Colossians 1:1–2, we see that the opening of Paul's letter comes with the authority of Christ, displays the fellowship we share in Christ, and reminds us of the blessings we have received in Christ. Though Colossae was a small, fading city in Paul's day, it received one of the most glorious portraits of Jesus in all of Scripture—Lord of creation and of the new creation, supreme over all things, and a completely sufficient Savior. Nothing needs to be added to Christ for the Christian to be complete: no festival, no diet, no special experience. The fullness of God dwells in Him, and in Him we have been filled. This message calls believers to submit to the authority of God's Word, to treasure the grace and peace that come from God our Father through Jesus Christ our Lord, and to daily walk toward maturity through Christ alone.

Psalm 119: Oh, How I Love Your Law
2026/08/16
This is the morning sermon from Ramah Baptist Church's Homecoming service in Palmetto, GA on August 16, 2026.
We were honored to welcome John Miller, pastor of Redeemer Baptist Church in Macon, GA, as our guest preacher. In this sermon from Psalm 119, Pastor Miller calls us to delight in God's Word with the same affection as the psalmist, who declares, "Oh, how I love your law!" Rather than viewing Scripture as a burden, believers are reminded that God's Word is perfect, trustworthy, life-giving, and sufficient for every season of life. This message encourages Christians to cultivate a deeper love for God's truth and to joyfully submit every area of life to His Word.

Growing Up in Christ
2026/08/09
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on August 9, 2026.
In this sermon from 1 Corinthians, we examine what true spiritual maturity looks like. The church in Corinth was richly gifted by God's grace, yet marked by jealousy, strife, and spiritual immaturity. Through Paul's words, we see that the Holy Spirit not only gives life to believers but patiently grows them into the likeness of Christ. Spiritual maturity is not measured by giftedness or knowledge but by love, obedience, and steady growth in holiness. Though the work of sanctification is often slow and uneven, God is faithful to complete what He has begun, and one day every believer will be made perfect in Christ.

Escaping Temptation
2026/08/02
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on August 2, 2026.
In this sermon from 1 Corinthians 10:1–13, we learn how God equips His people to overcome temptation. Using Israel's failures in the wilderness as a warning, Paul exposes the dangers of idolatry, presumption, and spiritual complacency. Yet this passage also contains one of Scripture's greatest promises: no temptation is unique, God is always faithful, and He provides a way of escape so that His people may endure. Rather than relying on self-confidence, believers are called to flee temptation, trust God's faithfulness, and walk in daily dependence upon Christ.

The Poison of Pride and the Grace of Humility
2026/07/26
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on July 26, 2026.
In this sermon from 1 Peter 5:5b–7, we examine one of the greatest threats to the Christian life: pride. Scripture teaches that "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Pride quietly poisons our relationships, distorts our view of God, and robs us of the peace He intends for His people. Peter calls believers to clothe themselves with humility, submit themselves under God's mighty hand, and cast every anxiety upon Him because He cares for them. True spiritual strength is not found in self-exaltation but in humble dependence upon the Lord.

Learning the Secret of Contentment
2026/07/19
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on July 19, 2026.
In this sermon from Philippians 4:10–13, we learn the biblical secret of contentment. Writing from prison, the Apostle Paul explains that true contentment is not found in favorable circumstances but in Christ Himself. Whether experiencing abundance or suffering need, Paul had learned to be content because Christ was his strength. This passage challenges the modern pursuit of happiness through possessions, success, or comfort and points believers instead to the all-sufficient grace of Christ. Through every season of life, God equips His people to endure faithfully and live with joyful confidence in Him.

Ancient Cures for Anxious Souls
2026/07/12
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on July 12, 2026.
In this sermon from Philippians 4:4–9, we discover God’s timeless remedy for anxious hearts. Writing from prison, the Apostle Paul calls believers to rejoice in the Lord, replace anxiety with prayer, rest in God’s peace, and fill their minds with what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. In a world marked by fear and uncertainty, these ancient truths remain the believer’s sure foundation. Rather than being controlled by anxious thoughts, Christians are called to trust the Lord, guard their hearts through prayer, and cultivate a mind shaped by the truth of God’s Word.

Praying for the Nation
2026/07/05
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on July 5, 2026.
In this sermon from 1 Timothy 2:1–8, we consider God’s call to pray for those in positions of authority. At a time when political division often fuels anxiety, anger, or apathy, Paul reminds believers that prayer is our first response. Christians are to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for kings and all who are in authority—not because every ruler is righteous, but because God is sovereign over every nation. This passage also directs our attention to the heart of the gospel: God desires people from every nation to be saved, and there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Spiritual Sluggards
2026/06/28
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on June 28, 2026.
In this sermon from Proverbs 6:6–11 and 24:30–34, we examine the danger of spiritual laziness. While Scripture certainly condemns physical slothfulness, these passages also expose a deeper problem: neglecting the things that matter most. Like an untended vineyard, a neglected soul gradually becomes overgrown with sin, apathy, and spiritual decay. God calls His people to diligent obedience, disciplined living, and faithful stewardship of the grace He has given. This message challenges believers to recognize the subtle drift toward complacency and to pursue Christ with intentional faithfulness.

Be Angry and Do Not Sin
2026/06/21
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on June 21, 2026.
In this sermon from Ephesians 4:21–32, Paul shows that the gospel not only changes what we believe but also how we live. Having put off the old self and put on the new self in Christ, believers are called to walk in holiness, truth, and love. Paul addresses the proper place of anger in the Christian life, warning against sinful anger that gives opportunity to the devil while calling believers to pursue forgiveness, kindness, and unity. These verses remind us that righteous anger must be governed by God’s Word and that the grace we have received in Christ should shape the way we treat one another.
