THE US SOLDIERS LEAVE IRAQ - But American Companies Are Moving In
2026/10/02
The U.S.-Iraq relationship is entering a major transition.https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/from-bases-to-companies-iraqs-new.htmlThe U.S.-led international coalition's military mission in Iraq is scheduled to conclude at the end of September 2026, marking the end of a major chapter in the two countries' relationship. Iraqi officials have described September 30 as the fixed deadline for the conclusion of the coalition's military presence. But while the military relationship is changing, the economic relationship has been expanding.During Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's July visit to Washington, Iraqi and American companies and government entities announced dozens of agreements, memoranda of understanding and cooperation arrangements. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce said the announced agreements and partnerships were worth more than $60 billion and involved companies including Chevron, ExxonMobil, GE Vernova, Google, JPMorgan Chase, KBR, PepsiCo, Shell and others.Iraqi government reporting separately put the number of agreements and other arrangements at 48, covering sectors including oil, electricity, industry, technology and finance. That creates an important question:If the U.S. military presence is shrinking, what will the American presence in Iraq look like next? This episode examines the shift from:🇺🇸 Military cooperation➡️ Economic partnerships➡️ American companies➡️ Energy investment➡️ Banking and finance➡️ Infrastructure➡️ Technology➡️ Diplomatic relationsThe transformation doesn't mean security and political issues disappear. Those remain part of the relationship. But economically, Iraq is clearly trying to attract more foreign investment and bring major international companies into projects involving energy, infrastructure, finance and other sectors. The bigger story may be that the U.S.-Iraq relationship is moving from bases and forces toward contracts, companies and capital.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. U.S. DOLLARS HEADED TO IRAQ AGAIN - Why This Matters
2026/09/27
MORE U.S. CASH DOLLARS ARE COMING TO IRAQ. https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/us-dollars-headed-to-iraq-again-why.html Iraq's government says a new shipment of U.S. dollar banknotes will arrive in the country in the coming days following understandings reached between Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi's government and the United States. Government spokesman Haider al-Aboudi said the continuation of cash-dollar shipments is intended to help meet legitimate foreign-currency needs. According to the statement, the understanding comes as Iraq strengthens controls over the distribution and use of dollars, expands electronic payment systems and moves toward a more digital economy. 💵 WHY DOES THIS MATTER? Cash-dollar shipments have been an important part of Iraq's financial system. Earlier in 2026, shipments were temporarily interrupted before resuming. A $500 million shipment was reported as arriving in Iraq in August for transactions involving travelers and foreign remittances. Financial adviser Mazhar Mohammed Saleh has previously described these shipments as being drawn from Iraq's dollar reserves held with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York rather than representing newly created Iraqi wealth. 🏦 BUT THERE'S A BIGGER STORY The government is linking the continuation of shipments to improvements in Iraq's financial controls. The statement specifically points to: Better control over dollar distribution Reducing misuse of foreign currency Expanded electronic payments Greater financial transparency A gradual move toward a digital economy That means the story isn't simply about another shipment of physical dollars. It's also about how Iraq is changing the way dollars move through its financial system. 🇮🇶 WHAT COULD THIS MEAN FOR THE DINAR? A larger and more predictable supply of physical dollars can matter for parts of Iraq's foreign-currency market. But the announcement itself does not state that Iraq is changing its official exchange rate. That's an important distinction. The new shipment is about dollar availability and distribution—not an announced revaluation or change to the official dinar rate. 👀 WHAT WE'LL BE WATCHING We'll be watching: 💵 When the new shipment actually arrives 🏦 How the dollars are distributed 📊 What happens in the parallel market 💳 Whether electronic payments continue expanding 🇮🇶 How Iraq's banking system handles foreign-currency demand And whether future U.S.–Iraq financial cooperation leads to additional changes. https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswers 📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. The Dollar Enters Iraq’s 2027 Budget Debate What Happens Next?
2026/09/24
Iraq's 2027 budget is moving toward Parliament — and the exchange rate is now part of the discussion. 🇮🇶💵My FX Buddies Blog Iraq's Parliamentary Finance Committee is preparing for the expected arrival of the 2027 federal budget draft on October 15, according to committee members and other Iraqi reporting. One of the major numbers being discussed is a potential budget deficit of approximately 65 trillion Iraqi dinars. Finance Committee member Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi said the committee will examine the exchange-rate issue as part of the measures and solutions proposed by the Ministry of Finance to address the deficit. But there is an important distinction: The exchange rate is being discussed — that does NOT mean a new official exchange rate has been announced. The actual budget draft and its financial tables are expected to provide much more detail about: Government revenues Government spending The projected deficit The assumed oil price Oil-export assumptions Deficit financing The exchange-rate issue The oil-price assumption is also still being debated. Earlier reporting put proposals in a range from approximately $50 to $65 per barrel, while other discussions have considered different assumptions depending on market conditions and export expectations. The Iraqi Parliament's Finance Committee has also been working through final-account requirements ahead of consideration of the 2027 budget. And the exchange-rate discussion is not happening in isolation. Iraq's Finance Committee has been examining broader questions involving spending, revenue diversification, oil dependence and financial management. So the big date to watch is: OCTOBER 15, 2026 That's the expected date for the draft 2027 budget to reach Parliament. Once the actual budget tables are available, we'll have a much clearer picture of what Iraq is assuming about the dinar, oil, revenues, spending and the deficit. This is a budget discussion — not an announcement of a new exchange rate. https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswers 📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. No More Paper Iraqi Dinar? Iraq Expert Reveals Radical Plan
2026/09/16
Could Iraq eventually move away from paper currency altogether?https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/iraqs-radical-dinar-proposal-abolish.htmlA new proposal from Iraqi economic expert Safwan Qusay is putting an extraordinary idea into the currency and banking debate: instead of removing zeros or simply issuing larger denominations, Iraq could move toward electronic payment cards and eventually eliminate paper currency.Qusay argues that Iraq has approximately 106 trillion dinars issued, with around 40 trillion inside the banking system and more than 60 trillion remaining as cash outside it, according to the figures cited in the article. His proposal would give citizens time to deposit their cash savings into the banking system, with electronic payments eventually replacing paper-money transactions. He argues that this could help identify and bring back buried, stolen, smuggled, or otherwise undocumented funds. The proposal also includes a controversial idea: closing Iraq's borders during the transition to prevent Iraqi currency held outside the country from remaining in circulation. But is this actually happening? No decision like this is presented in the article as an announced Central Bank of Iraq policy. This video examines the expert's proposal, why he believes it could address Iraq's liquidity problem, and how it fits into the country's much broader banking and currency-reform debate.💰 Is Iraq's real problem the currency—or the huge amount of cash outside the banking system?Subscribe for more Iraq banking, currency, economic and dinar news. Thanks for Watching! BIG WARNING for Iraq: Could Losing US Financial Protection Hurt the Dinar?
2026/09/13
Could changes to Iraq’s relationship with the US Federal Reserve put pressure on the Iraqi dinar? https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/big-warning-for-iraq-could-losing-us.htmlNew warnings from Iraqi economic experts are raising important questions about what could happen if Iraq were to move away from the current US financial protection surrounding its oil revenues and reserves. The experts quoted in this report say Iraq could theoretically manage its oil revenues and reserves without American protection, but they warn that a sudden transition would be extremely risky under current conditions. And this isn't simply about moving Iraqi money from one bank to another. It involves the global dollar system, correspondent banks, international trade settlements, foreign currency liquidity, oil revenues, and the Central Bank of Iraq's ability to manage the exchange market. One expert warns that the greatest risk may ultimately be felt through:🇮🇶 The Iraqi dinar💵 The exchange market🏦 Iraqi banks🚢 Import financing📉 The official/parallel exchange-rate gap💰 Iraq's oil revenuesThe article also raises an important alternative: rather than suddenly abandoning the dollar system, Iraq could gradually expand relationships with European, Asian, and Gulf banks, increase the use of other currencies in trade, and strengthen Iraqi banks and their correspondent-banking networks. But experts emphasize that simply making a political decision to move away from US financial protection would not be enough.Iraq would first need to build a credible alternative financial system. We'll break down what these warnings actually mean, why the dollar remains so important to Iraq, how this could affect the dinar and exchange market, and what a gradual transition could look like.⚠️ Important: This report discusses expert warnings and potential risks. It does not mean that Iraq is currently removing US protection from its funds or that a specific dinar event is guaranteed. If you're following Iraq's banking reforms, oil revenues, exchange-rate developments, and the future of the Iraqi dinar, subscribe and follow along.👍 Like the video💬 Comment below: Do you think Iraq should gradually diversify away from dependence on the dollar—or would that create more risk? Thanks for Watching! IRAQ'S NEW CURRENCY: Could 50 & 100 Iraqi Dinar Notes Return?
2026/09/07
Could Iraq eventually see the return of smaller currency denominations—including 50 and 100 dinar notes? https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/new-50-100-dinar-notes-heres-what-iraqs.htmlAn Iraqi economic expert has suggested that if Iraq moves forward with changing its currency, the Central Bank of Iraq could potentially introduce new banknotes with stronger security features and denominations smaller than the current 250-dinar note.According to the expert's comments, possible denominations could include:💵 50 dinars💵 100 dinars💵 Smaller units, potentially including filsHowever, he also stressed that the Central Bank has not made a final decision, and the government is reportedly still working through the issue.Meanwhile, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Nizar Nasser Hussein, has released a much broader update on the direction of Iraq's banking and financial system. The Governor emphasized continued banking-sector reform, stronger international integration, improved oversight, protection of depositors' funds, and new lending initiatives designed to support investment and economic activity. He also made an important statement regarding Iraq's money supply, explaining that approximately 107 trillion Iraqi dinars have been issued for circulation, and that changing the currency could help determine the true amount of money actually circulating in Iraq's markets. So what does this mean?Is Iraq preparing for smaller currency denominations?Could 50 and 100 dinar notes eventually return? And how does the discussion about changing Iraq's currency fit into the Central Bank's much larger banking reform program? In this video, we break down the difference between economic expert speculation and official Central Bank policy, while looking at what the CBI Governor is actually saying about Iraq's banking future.⚠️ Important: The comments about possible 50 and 100 dinar denominations are suggestions made by an economic expert. IRAQ'S 3-ZERO PLAN HIT THE BRAKES? Parliament Sets NEW Conditions!
2026/09/06
Is Iraq slowing down the plan to remove three zeros from the Iraqi dinar? https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/iraqs-3-zero-plan-hit-brakes-parliament.htmlAfter a series of recent reports discussing new Iraqi currency, redesigned banknotes, and possible legislation to remove zeros, a member of Iraq's Parliamentary Finance Committee is now emphasizing that the process cannot move forward quickly.According to the latest report, Parliamentary Finance Committee member Amer Rahim says that removing zeros from the Iraqi currency would require extensive discussions inside Parliament, along with amendments and the passage of supporting financial laws and regulations. The committee member reportedly warned that raising the issue at the present time may be premature, especially while Iraq continues to face financial and economic challenges. Before any major structural change to the currency, the article says Iraq would need a more complete economic and banking environment designed to support market stability. The report also raises an important concern for Iraqi citizens: Could a major currency reform negatively affect purchasing power if it is implemented without careful preparation? For now, the focus being emphasized is:🏦 Banking reform📈 Economic stability💵 Protecting the Iraqi dinar🏛️ Legislative preparation📜 Supporting financial lawsThis is especially significant because viewers have recently seen very different headlines about the removal of zeros from the dinar. So what is really happening? Is Iraq moving toward implementation?Or is the country still in the discussion and preparation stage? In this video, we break down the latest statements and look at why Parliament may believe the economic foundation must be in place before Iraq makes such a major currency transition.⚠️ Important: The removal of zeros, currency redenomination, and an actual increase in the value or purchasing power of the Iraqi dinar are not automatically the same thing. Any implementation would depend on official decisions, legislation, and instructions from the appropriate Iraqi authorities.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. Banking Ready 2026: A NEW Banking Era for Iraq? Here's What's Happening
2026/09/03
Iraq has launched the fourth edition of Banking Ready 2026, a free banking training program https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/09/banking-ready-2026-what-is-iraq.htmldesigned to help young Iraqis develop professional skills and prepare for careers in the banking sector. The program is fully funded by the National Bank of Iraq and is being offered in cooperation with the Center of Excellence for Innovation and Development and the American University of Iraq – Baghdad. On the surface, this may simply look like a youth training initiative. But when we place it alongside Iraq's broader banking reforms, digital payment initiatives, efforts to strengthen financial compliance, and attempts to modernize the country's financial system, it becomes an interesting piece of the bigger picture. Is Iraq preparing for a fundamentally different banking environment? In this video, we're going to start with this announcement and then connect it to several other recent developments in Iraq's economy and banking sector. As always, we'll separate what is actually being reported from speculation and expectations, because there is a LOT of information circulating about Iraq's currency and banking system right now.Stay with me as we connect the dots.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. 2027 DINAR CHANGE? Iraqi MP Gives New Update
2026/09/01
Is 2027 really the year Iraq will begin removing the three zeros from the Iraqi dinar?https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/when-will-iraq-remove-3-zeros-new-update.htmlA new statement from Iraqi MP Murtadha Afween provides an important update on the long-discussed currency reform project.Afween says the removal of zeros has not yet reached the implementation phase and cautions that removing zeros would not, by itself, solve Iraq's broader economic problems. However, an earlier report cited in the article stated that the Iraqi government could begin issuing a new currency with the zeros removed at the beginning of 2027.So where does the project actually stand? In this video, we look at what the latest statement says, the 2027 timeline being reported, and why the difference between planning, legislation, preparation and actual implementation matters.Removing three zeros is also not automatically the same thing as increasing the value or purchasing power of the Iraqi dinar. The latest statement is therefore worth paying attention to — especially because Iraq has been discussing currency reform for years. The big question:Will Iraq actually begin the currency transition in 2027, or is more legislation and preparation still required?I'll continue following the official developments as more information becomes available.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. CBI CRACKDOWN? Iraq Tightens Controls on Politicians’ Money
2026/08/29
Iraq's Central Bank is tightening its oversight of politically exposed https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/cbi-crackdown-iraq-tightens-controls-on.htmlpersons, their relatives, close associates, and companies connected to them.According to documents obtained by Al-Ahd News, the Central Bank of Iraq has issued new instructions requiring banks and licensed non-bank financial institutions to strengthen due diligence and monitoring procedures involving politically exposed persons as part of broader anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing measures. The new approach reportedly requires financial institutions to assess risk based on factors including a person's position and influence, financial activity, related countries, and transaction patterns.Banks are also being instructed to determine whether customers, beneficial owners, authorized signatories, or associated individuals qualify as politically exposed persons—whether Iraqi or foreign. And it doesn't stop with individual bank accounts. The instructions reportedly call for greater scrutiny of companies in which politicians or their relatives may hold shares or exercise direct or indirect control. Financial institutions are also expected to identify the ultimate beneficial owner, particularly when companies have complicated ownership structures. One of the most significant changes is the emphasis on continuous monitoring rather than simply checking a list of politicians' names when an account is opened. The Central Bank reportedly wants financial institutions to use reliable local, regional, and media sources to help identify financial activity connected to officials and their wider circles. So what does this mean for Iraq's banking reform?⚠️ Important: Increased scrutiny does not mean that every politically exposed person, relative, or associate has committed a financial crime. These measures are designed around risk assessment and financial transparency.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. IRAQ IN THE CROSSHAIRS? As Washington Turns Up the Pressure on Tehran
2026/08/26
Could Iraq's economy become collateral damage in Washington's escalating pressure on Tehran?https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/iraq-caught-in-middle-us-sanctions.htmlA new warning surrounding US sanctions against Iran is raising concerns in Baghdad, where Iraq maintains deep commercial, financial and energy ties with its neighbor. The situation could put Iraq in a difficult position. The Central Bank of Iraq faces the challenge of protecting the domestic exchange market while also controlling hard-currency transfers and ensuring that financial channels remain compliant with international requirements. At the same time, Iraq depends heavily on Iranian gas and electricity supplies to help keep its national power system operating. If Washington tightens secondary sanctions against entities dealing with Iran, Iraqi banks, businesses and financial institutions could face increased scrutiny and potentially greater restrictions. That leaves Baghdad facing a difficult balancing act:Protect Iraq's banking system from US financial restrictions.🇮🇷 Maintain critical economic and energy relationships with Iran.Key Moments and HighlightsProtect Iraq's economy, currency and financial stability. In this video, we examine what the latest warnings could mean for Iraq, the Central Bank, the Iraqi banking system, the dollar market, energy supplies and everyday prices.Could Iraq be caught in the middle? And perhaps most importantly—how much pressure can Iraq absorb before ordinary Iraqis begin feeling the effects? This video discusses the information and claims presented in the referenced report and is intended for news commentary and analysis. IRAQ’S BANKS STOP LENDING?! WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON
2026/08/25
Iraq's three-zero currency story just became even more complicated.https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/us-pressure-to-remove-3-zeros.htmlFour reports emerging today are putting new attention on Iraq's long-discussed plan to remove three zeros from the Iraqi dinar — but the reports don't all tell exactly the same story. One report claims that US pressure is being applied to Baghdad to accelerate the process, allegedly as part of efforts to combat money laundering and bring cash back into the formal banking system.Other reports focus on discussions between Iraq's Parliamentary Finance Committee and the Central Bank, preparations for redesigned banknotes, possible legislation, and the potential timeline for a gradual currency transition. Some reports even state that a decision has already been made, while the Central Bank of Iraq has not publicly provided a formal implementation timetable. So what should ordinary Iraqis believe? In today's video, we're putting all four reports side by side and looking at what they actually say — where they agree, where they differ, and what questions still need official answers. Most importantly, we'll discuss the difference between removing three zeros from the currency and actually increasing the value or purchasing power of the Iraqi dinar. This is not a prediction that a currency revaluation is about to happen. It is an examination of the information being reported today and the questions Iraqis deserve clear answers to.The biggest question may be the simplest: What will the Central Bank of Iraq officially say?https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. IRAQ’S BANKS STOP LENDING?! WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON
2026/08/23
Are Iraq’s government banks pulling back from lending?🏦https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/iraqs-banks-stop-lending-whats-really.htmlA new report says that most government banks in Iraq have ceased or significantly reduced their credit activity, with some reportedly lacking clear credit plans for the current year.According to the source, this decline has affected a range of lending programs, including construction and renovation loans, small and medium-sized business financing, investment loans, housing projects and electronic personal loans. That raises a much bigger question:If Iraqi banks aren't actively providing credit, how can businesses, investors and productive sectors get the financing they need to grow?In this video, we examine the latest report and what it could mean for Iraq's economy and banking sector. We'll look at:🔹 Why lending activity has reportedly declined at government banks🔹 The absence of clear credit plans at a number of banks🔹 Construction and renovation financing🔹 Small and medium-sized business loans🔹 Investment and housing financing🔹 Electronic personal loans🔹 Why reduced bank lending could affect economic activity🔹 The role government banks are expected to play in supporting investment🔹 Why Parliament and the Parliamentary Finance Committee are being urged to examine the issue🔹 Why clear, measurable credit plans could be important for Iraq's economic developmentThe report specifically raises concerns about whether government banks are fulfilling their role in financing productive and investment sectors and supporting Iraq's economic activity. At a time when Iraq is trying to strengthen its banking system, diversify the economy and increase investment, access to credit matters. So is this simply a temporary slowdown - or is Iraq facing a much bigger banking and credit problem?https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. IRAQ’S 2027 BUDGET: 1320 DINAR RATE HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
2026/08/21
Iraq’s 2027 budget is reportedly being prepared using an exchange rate https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/1320-again-iraqs-2027-budget-dinar-dont.htmlof 1,320 Iraqi dinars to the U.S. dollar — but should dinar watchers panic? Not so fast. 🇮🇶💰New information indicates that the Iraqi government is moving forward with the 2027 budget draft based on the current 1320 dinar exchange rate, with no current intention to change the adopted exchange rate. But there is an important distinction here: this is a draft budget, not a final decision on the future value of the Iraqi dinar. In this video, we break down what the reported 1320 exchange rate means for Iraq’s 2027 budget, why the government continues to use the current official rate in its financial planning, and why this does not necessarily close the door on future monetary or currency changes.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion. JPMORGAN & IRAQ: A FINANCIAL POWER SHIFT?
2026/08/20
Is JPMorgan taking a larger role in Iraq's financial system—and could https://www.myfxbuddies.com/2026/08/iraqs-treasury-is-running-out-of-time.htmlthat change how Iraqi money and foreign trade move through the banking system?A new warning from political researcher Hussein Al-Shalakh is raising questions about the expanding role of JPMorgan Chase in Iraq's financial transactions, including imports, foreign trade and the movement of Iraqi funds.According to the report, Al-Shalakh argues that greater reliance on JPMorgan could potentially shift a significant portion of Iraq's financial activity toward a new international banking route, raising concerns about Iraq's financial sovereignty and the role of the Central Bank of Iraq. The discussion comes as Iraq continues its banking and financial reforms while attempting to strengthen its banking system, improve international financial transactions and reduce vulnerabilities created by dependence on oil revenues and foreign financial systems. But there is an important distinction: the article presents these concerns as the warning of a political researcher. It does not establish that JPMorgan has taken control of Iraq's money or replaced the Central Bank of Iraq.So what exactly is JPMorgan's role?Could Iraqi oil revenues, imports and foreign trade become increasingly dependent on JPMorgan?Could this create a new financial route for Iraq—or create greater dependence on an international bank? And perhaps the biggest question:Who ultimately controls the movement of Iraq's money? In this video, we break down the claims, the concerns surrounding JPMorgan's involvement, the Central Bank of Iraq, Iraqi oil revenues, foreign trade, banking reform and what this could mean for Iraq's financial sovereignty.Iraq's banking system is changing—and this is a story worth watching.https://tinyurl.com/godhastheanswersGet a free transcript https://rss.com/podcasts/myfxbuddies📌 Disclaimer: This video is for news, commentary, and educational discussion.
