Originally from Syracuse, NY, Nate has been living and working in Nashville, Tennessee since 2012. Nate is the drummer for Nashville-based R&B/Soul artist, Shannon Lauren Callihan, Country/Roots artist, Kelsey Waldon, and Soul/Rock group, Amanda Broadway Band. He is also a recording and touring drummer/percussionist for Soul artist, Devon Gilfilian. With Kelsey Waldon, Nate has shared the stage on sold out national tours with Grammy Award-winning artists such as Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives, and the late John Prine. Nate is also the drummer on Waldon’s album, “White Noise, White Lines,” and EP, “They’ll Never Keep Us Down,” both of which were released on John Prine’s record label, Oh Boy Records, in 2019 and 2020 respectively. As of January, 2021, Nate has performed on the Grand Ole Opry Stage twice with Waldon. Since 2018, Nate is a founding band member with R&B/Soul artist, Shannon Lauren Callihan, actively recording and touring with her. From Callihan winning the 2018 Emerging Artist Fund through the music education & content company, Pickup Music, Nate has traveled to and played sold out shows throughout Nashville and in NYC. He is the studio drummer on all of her releases to date. Since 2017, Nate is a founding member with Rock/Soul group, Amanda Broadway Band. His is drumming on the group’s debut 2020 record, “The Ache” as well as an upcoming single, which will be released through the group’s label, Electric 3 Records, in Spring 2021. Nate has been touring part-time as a second drummer/auxiliary percussionist with Devon Gilfillian since Fall, 2017, recently becoming an official band member in Summer, 2020. He is featured on drums and percussion on Gilfillian’s latest album, “What’s Going On” and made his debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with the group in October, 2020. When not on tour, Nate is an adjunct Instructor of Jazz Drum Set at Sewanee University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He also actively collaborates with Nashville’s most renowned local musicians through session work and live in-town performances. Some of these musicians include Roy Agee (trombone for Prince), Jeff Coffin (Saxophones for Dave Matthews Band), and Mike Hicks (keyboards for Rascal Flatts). Right out of college, he toured nationally with mentor and close family friend reggae recording artist John Bayley. Dave is a founding member of Brother Kind, who opened for Merl Saunders and David Grisman at Red Rocks (7/7/97).The group still reunites every so often in Colorado. Currently a resident of Denver, Colorado, Dave relentlessly works on his many different musical projects.  When not touring with Melvin Seals and JGB, he performs with many original bands of his own creation such as Working Man’s Grass, a bluegrass Dead band; he also plays solo acoustic gigs throughout the Southwest; and finally, Dave plays lead guitar and vocals for Xtra Ticket, Arizona’s premier Grateful Dead band.
