Description

Strength to Strength offers resources that will strengthen your obedient love-faith relationship with King Jesus and give you solid footing in a shaky world. VISION: Inspire flourishing communities of faithful Jesus-followers around the world. MISSION: Advance Jesus’ kingdom by assisting the church in earnestly contending for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints, through tackling thought-provoking topics, by stimulating candid discussions, and by sharing faith-building testimonies. ACTION: We do this by providing multimedia resources including podcasts, videos, and books, and by pointing people to local communities of believers. Our speakers and writers are supportive of a Christ-centered, kingdom-focused, Scripture-based way of life, specifically as modeled by the Anabaptist tradition. However, we will sell books not written by kingdom Christians when they are able to share a unique or challenging perspective. In engaging with any of our resources we encourage you to be a Berean.

Sue Kauffman has experienced living with and loving people with a bipolar disorder—first her father, and then her husband. Can mental illness and beauty fit into the same narrative? "Peter Stepped Out of the Boat. Should You?" by Glenn Martin
2026/10/03
Strength to Strength welcomed Glenn Martin to revisit a familiar story recorded in the Gospels. Matthew recounts Jesus walking on the troubled waters to the disciples in the boat; perhaps more astounding, Peter famously stepped out of the boat to walk to Jesus, too. Though everyone acknowledges that this story has a lesson to teach us, what is that lesson? Most commonly, Peter is commended for his courage to step out of the boat; we are encouraged to learn from Peter to keep our eyes on Jesus—not the circumstances around us—to prevent us from sinking. But is that view supported by the text? In this presentation, Glenn Martin challenges this view and offers a different conclusion. An interactive question-and-answer period follows.
"A Stumbling Journey Into God’s Kingdom" by Steve Meres
2026/09/16
September 12, 2026 Strength to Strength welcomed Steve Meres to share his life story. Join Steve as he describes how he has stumbled and fumbled his way through growing up a Catholic, falling into the world, finding Christ through tragedy with the help of a Seventh-Day Adventist and a Calvary Chapel radio broadcast, spending nine years in a Baptist church, and finally landing in a conservative Anabaptist congregation with all its cultural intricacies and anomalies. An interactive question-and-answer period follows. https://strengthtostrength.org/stumbling-journey-into-gods-kingdom/
S2S Sisters: "The Power of the Hidden Woman" by Patty Miller
2026/09/15
September 12, 2026. Strength to Strength Sisters welcomed Patty Miller to discuss the behind-the-scenes experience of one who supports others’ ministries. Serving from behind—what does that mean in today’s world of women’s rights and strident individualism? A woman of God has value and merit in the eyes of God regardless of her place in society or degree of visibility. Instead of oppressing women, Christianity gave women freedom and dignity that was unknown in the culture of the day. This responsibility comes with instructions on how to use this strength in a Christlike way, from a specific position in relation to Christ, His Church, and the men who are our authority. When we occupy that position in its fullness, we find peace, joy, and fulfillment. The speaker will share biblical examples and personal experiences of serving God from behind. S2S Sisters: "The Power of the Word of God to Renew Our Minds" by Christy Kenaston
2026/09/10
September 5, 2026 Strength to Strength Sisters welcomed Christy Kenaston to discuss how to use the power of the Word to renew our minds and stabilize our hearts. Whether at home or abroad we women often face a battle in our minds. There are days when thoughts fight against our very soul and threaten to undo our faith and our confidence in Christ. But the Word of God is powerful! It can transform our minds and cut through confusing lies. “Your word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” —Psalm 119:11 An interactive question-and-answer period follows. https://strengthtostrength.org/the-power-of-the-word-of-god-to-renew-our-minds/
"The Power of Faithfulness in the Mundane" by Carol Myer
2026/08/15
August 1, 2026 Strength to Strength Sisters welcomed Carol Myer to encourage faithfulness in the little things. When we consider the power of Faithfulness, we have to first step back and recognize that we are stewards. Can anyone know what to steward if we don’t recognize our gifts? We will look at some amazing but practical ways that Faithfulness is part of our everyday, turning mundane moments into stepping stones to an extraordinary life. S2S Author Interview: "The False Equation" by Ryan Roth
2026/08/06
Does secularism truly deserve credit for rationality, scientific progress, and tolerance? In this S2S Books interview, author Ryan Roth discusses his new book, *The False Equation: Challenging the Claim that Secularism Equals Rationality and Tolerance*. Ryan examines the historical narrative that equates secularism with reason and progress. The conversation explores objective truth, the relationship between faith and reason, historical revisionism, the scientific revolution, authoritarianism, and what Ryan calls the “moral liberty principle.” Topics include: • The meaning behind the false equation “2 + 2 = 5” • Whether secularism produced modern science and rational thought • The religious convictions of influential Greek philosophers • The Reformation’s relationship to literacy and scientific discovery • The contrast between the American and French Revolutions • Why authoritarianism—not religious faith—is the true enemy of liberty • How Christians can confidently contend for truth today Merle Burkholder, who wrote the book’s foreword, joins the conversation and helps explore the book’s central arguments. https://strengthtostrength.org/product/the-false-equation-ryan-roth/
"The Power of Limits in an Age of Distraction" by Kristi Mast
2026/07/16
July 4, 2026 Strength to Strength Sisters welcomed Kristi Mast to discuss the power of a focused life. Most of us understand that our phones are stealing our attention and sometimes even our fruitfulness. But how do we practically master our devices instead of letting them master us, especially when we are drained or looking for escape? Embracing our human limits frees us to employ technology as a tool, rather than something that dehumanizes and distracts. Come talk about practical ways to master the screens in your life. An interactive question-and-answer period follows. Downloadable resource on our website: https://strengthtostrength.org/the-power-of-limits-in-an-age-of-distraction/

June 25, 2026 Strength to Strength welcomes Reagan Schrock to share the story of the Anabaptist Origins documentary. Anabaptist Origins is a ten-part documentary series tracing the first hundred years of the Anabaptist movement. Filmed on location across Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, and the Netherlands, the series brings viewers to the actual places where men like Conrad Grebel, Felix Manz, and Menno Simons lived, were hunted, and in some cases died for their convictions. An interactive question-and-answer period follows. https://strengthtostrength.org/anabaptist-origins-documentary-retracing-the-first-100-years/

"Does Progressive Dispensationalism Fit in Christ's Kingdom?" —an S2S rebuttal
2026/05/23
Strength to Strength responds to a recent episode by Anabaptist Perspectives. In this response video, Greg Weaver is joined by Justin Zehr and Bryant Martin to offer a rebuttal to the presentation offered by Julian Stoltzfus. In this episode, we respond to a presentation on Progressive Dispensationalism. Is Progressive Dispensationalism compatible with the Christo-centric hermeneutic or Anabaptism? Does Romans 11 actually teach a distinction between the church and Israel? What should be our prioritization in Bible interpretation? These are a few of the questions we explored. The Bible tells a single unified story. His body is both singular and undivided. The mystery revealed from ages past is that all nationalities would be fellow heirs in the same body. When Jesus broke into the pages of human history he revealed the prophetic mysteries Israel has been pondering for centuries. Join us as we discuss these realities and their implications. https://strengthtostrength.org/does-progressive-dispensationalism-fit-in-christs-kingdom/
“Finding God’s Purpose for Our Pain” by Grant Bontrager
2026/05/16
May 9, 2026 Strength to Strength welcomed Grant Bontrager to discuss lessons learned through his life story. Grant Bontrager was born as the result of a sexual assault. Although he was raised in a loving, Christian home, he still struggled intensely with identity, questions about his past, and the belief that God had a plan for his strange, confusing life. It wasn’t until he went to a counselor, took a deep look at his heart, identified the pain caused by those questions, and brought that pain to Jesus, that he was able to find his identity, and the answers to the many “Why?” questions. Grant has found his calling in life to go share his story in prisons and churches, and to walk with others who are struggling with painful things in their lives. An interactive question-and-answer period follows. https://strengthtostrength.org/finding-gods-purpose-for-our-pain/
