The guest on this episode is a great example of constantly innovating and moving with the times whilst continuing to create outstanding work.  Jeff Wood is a wedding filmmaker who started capturing weddings back around 2008 and has worked with celebrity and luxury clients as well as being an influence for many UK wedding videographers over the past decade.  But rather than just sticking with the status quo, Jeff has embraced the way technology has started to change the industry and has started using his iPhone to provide new opportunities to be creative.  We discuss everything from keeping the name of his business and his choice of equipment open so he could do either photo or video. To sitting on private jets with celebrities, judging awards, monitoring the next generation of wedding filmmakers and what the future holds for wedding filmmakers. On this episode I get to chat with a brilliant, multi award wining documentary style wedding photographer Erica Hawkins who originally came from a background in filmmaking.  Some of Erica's awards include Nine Dots Photographer of the Year 2024, This is Reportage Top 10 photographers in the UK, Fearless Top 50 Photographers of the World, TWIA regional winner and the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize which provided Erica with the opportunity to see her work exhibited in the national portrait gallery! In this milestone episode (number 100!) I am speaking with Martin & Daiga Cheung who are a married couple providing photography and videography. Although they have separate businesses they are able to offer a combined photo and video package to couples as well as having their own clients, a really great business model to consider for any of you working with a spouse! In this episode I go through why I think this year is the year that Hybrid Photography and Videography shooting will completely blow up. Sure, the past few years there has been a rise of people using both photo and video to tell stories, particularly to market themselves and we have seen the popularity of content creation becoming an integral part of all our businesses.  But I really believe we are at a tipping point where video is no longer an afterthought or a tag on to what consumer / clients / couples want and what businesses need to offer. I feel this year is when it becomes integral to being a creator and technology is almost at a point where there is no longer a reason to not capture both still and moving images as a part of your work.  It's the start of a New Year, so a great time to consider how you want to take your business and your storytelling skills forward into the future. For this episode I wanted to revisit a topic from episode 81 where I talked about how the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 could be a game changing cameras for hybrid shooters. Now I have had the opportunity to use it for a few more months on a variety of projects I wanted to give you a more up to date view of how useful it is as a tool for hybrid content creation or as a pure filmmaking tool for weddings and commercial work.  I discuss the positives and negatives, how I have been using it.
