Youth Traffic Safety Town Hall  is led by CDMA Business Model Youth Leaders in the District of Columbia & New York. Now! The Transportation Industry is met with  the opportunity to build on research from a  fresh perspective amid the Covid-19 Pandemic  to help educate and inform the general public creatively through Visual Arts.   This year, CDMA Business Model Youth Traffic Safety Town Hall is presenting #TrafficSafety2021 by partnering with Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program and Garfield Elementary School (also known as  #GarfieldPrep) to support all Vision Zero initiatives. In 2018, Mayor Bowser kicked off National School Safety Week and Vision Zero Week by leading community members and volunteers in a Slow Down campaign at Garfield Elementary School in Ward 8. She highlighted the importance of driving safely in and around school zones, in addition to discussing the Administration’s investments and efforts to ensure traffic safety for children and families getting to and from school. Youth Traffic Safety Town Hall is proud to give all families a chance to learn more about Garfield Elementary School and helping you sign up to ENROLL YOUR CHILD for Fall 2021 on August 3rd from 10:00am-2:00pm.  THIS EVENT IS FREE!  COME ONE COME ALL! It's all about building community through positive initiatives such as joining forces with organizations throughout Ward 8 and beyond to serve and support Seniors and more! Beyond a traditional bicycling group, Pedal Pushaz is pushing the envelop as these youngsters are adamant about finding new ways to commute and travel in Ward 8 safely. Honesty shares insight into how we can truly learn more from our Black Inventors in Traffic Safety in Celebration of Black History Month. 

Safe Routes Partnership is helping the community amid the Covid-19 Pandemic.  In many communities, altered traffic patterns are undermining active transportation progress in neighborhoods and near schools, parks, senior centers, community centers, and other community hubs. Safe Routes of Health is aimed at working with five communities across the country to understand the effects that navigation apps are seeming to have on walkability, bikeability, and overall livability. Through conversations with local stakeholders including residents, community organizations, government agencies, and others, we will hear firsthand how navigation apps have influenced traffic patterns and created concerns for health, safety, and equity. We will also learn from stakeholders about any previous attempts to address the concerns through policy and other strategies.  Parallel with engaging community stakeholders, our team will be developing an understanding of what data may be available and useful to validating and quantifying the effects of navigation apps. Our team will also be conducting a legal and policy analysis to identify potential strategies. Learnings from the five communities and parallel analyses will be compiled into a policy framework and report with recommendations for the local communities and other communities around the country to consider in addressing this challenge. The Youth Traffic Safety Town Hall: Virtual Edition is led by participants in CDMA Business Model: Be About Business Together-Summer Youth Employment Program provides insight on how we empower others to identify their skills in the workforce.

CDMA  Business Model:  Youth Traffic Safety Town Hall is designed to engage the Transportation Industry in ways that supports safe passage in Traffic Routes to Schools while addressing concerns proposed by all stakeholders  in collaboration with organizations that are committed to youth leadership.  It also features Visual Arts Showcases to help young leaders make real world connections through Photography, Music, Fashion and Entrepreneurship.
