On average, nearly 20 people per MINUTE are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. To say, much more needs to be done to help victims of domestic Violence is an understatement. The only strides made since the 1980's, is that NOW, the police are arresting BOTH people involved, and letting the courts sort it out, so now, not only is a victim being physically abused, she/he is having to go through the ordeal and humiliation of being arrested, and thrown in jail. This episode talks about the abuse, both physically and mentally, the aftermath, both in the present and future, the long-term effects for the victim, and the families of the victim, the police who show up at the doors as first responders, then to the courts, and the justice system.
