Evergreen have reached the FAI Junior Cup Final for the third time after a 3–1 victory over Castlebar Celtic. They’ll play Coachford in the final after the Cork club beat Trim Celtic on penalties in the other semi final today. Ethan Phelan put Evergreen 1–0 up in the first half, before Xoli Stafford doubled the lead in the 72nd minute. Mark Cunningham pulled one back for the Mayo men with five minutes remaining, but within a minute Mikey Clifford struck to restore Evergreen’s two‑goal cushion and seal the win for the Kilkenny side. The game was broadcast live on KCLR Plus, thanks to Laharts Garage, Waterford Road.

Carlow karate athlete Brian Keating made history when he won the Irish Martial Arts Committee Outstanding Senior Athlete of the Year award at the national ceremony in Dublin. His performances across 2025 and 2026 have set a new benchmark for Irish karate. Brian has enjoyed an exceptional run of results, including world titles both with Ireland and as an individual representing Carlow Karate Club. His younger brother Blake is also one to watch, and we’re likely to hear plenty more about him in the years ahead. Brendan Hennessy dropped in to chat with Brian about what’s coming next.

Rory McIlroy's become only the fourth golfer to retain the Masters title after winning by one shot. The defending champion carded a final round 71 to finish on 12 under-par - just ahead of world number one Scottie Scheffler at Augusta. He follows in the footsteps of Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods in securing green jackets in back-to-back years. Last year's runner-up Justin Rose was part of a group, including fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton, a stroke further back. Shane Lowry's final round 80 saw the former Open champion fall back to one-under-par. Carlow's Harry Ewing followed Rory around the course and joined us to discuss it.

Tullow are through to the Bank of Ireland Towns Cup Final following their semi final victory over Naas over the weekend. The game was live on KCLR Plus thanks to New Moon Indian Restaurant Tullow, afterwards Brendan Hennessy spoke to players, coaching staff and some stalwarts of the club.  At the time of publishing the final is due to take place in Edenderry on Sunday April 19th.
