This week we welcome Jordan Volz, Field Engineering Lead at Continual.ai. Jordan has been working in the data and machine learning space for over a decade at companies like Cloudera and Dataiku. A mathematician by training Jordan found himself at the forefront of the big data and machine learning revolution and speaks about the waves of adoption in data science and machine learning.

Ahmed is the co-founder and CEO of Narrator.ai, a startup that standardizes all data into a single format. He previously built out WeWork’s data infrastructure and has also worked as an AI engineer at Raytheon. Not only that, he was also selected as one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 this year. Ahmed chats with us about what it takes to be truly data driven, shares his learnings from WeWork in a high scale/competitive market, and what led him to create his own company, Narrator.ai.

This week we welcome Joseph Arriola. He is the Data Engineering and AI lead at Yalo Chat and he is also the host of Big Data Guatemala Meet-up group. Joseph is passionate about technology related to the power of the data . His experience as an engineer started in development in different languages and he later found interest in how technology met business with data, so he migrated to the world of analytics. Joseph chats with us about chatbots, Tensorflow models, and the handoff between his engineering team and the data science team. Follow us for more great data engineering conversations.

This week's guest is Naveen Siddereddy. Naveen is a Data Solutions Architect, at Sony PlayStation. His work is aimed at helping studios across the world plan better for the next game release. His role requires using the right data frameworks to enable analysts, and coordinating with business line planners make wise financial decisions.

Banjo chats about using machine learning to identify low latency DDOS attacks and generating data to feed the models. He can routinely be found creating infrastructure components needed to store artifacts, monitor clusters and orchestrate deployments to meet the project needs. Banjo is also head operator at Grimoire Blogs an interactive blogging platform that allows you to embed data, graphs, APIs and more without any coding (Think of it as Wordpress for Data Scientists). And lastly, but no less important, Banjo is the host of his own The DataOpsDC Meetup which has showcased amazing talent including illuminating data architects, data engineers, and cloud engineers.

Twice monthly we are going to be chatting about all things data engineering. Today it’s just dash and myself but in future podcasts expect to see a litany of guests from across the globe. We will be welcoming our friends, co-workers, partners, and industry heavyweights to the show and asking them about what they are seeing on the front lines of modern data integration. We will have a specific focus on ecosystems like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and popular cloud data tools and platforms.
