K ꓘ 190 - Burning Questions
2026/08/06
Keep or Kut - Pete and Chad are FINALLY back! They ask and answer some difficult questions about a myriad of players as we enter trade deadline season.
8:04 - What is JJ Bleday's trade value?
21:00 - How does Josh Jung stack up compared to Bleday?
25:26 - Bryce Eldridge or... Vladimir Guerrero Jr.. going forward?
45:45 - It has been an interesting season for Fernando Tatis Jr. Jr. What's a fair return for an expensive Tatis Jr. at this deadline?
53:13 - Who is a prospect in keeper leagues that you are targeting? For Chad, it is Kade Anderson. Pete has been keeping his eye on Josue De Paula. A larger conversation about a potential lockout next year, Joshua Baez, Ethan Salas, and more follows.

K ꓘ 189 - OPL High Rate Adds
2026/04/30
Keep or Kut - Pete and Chad examine some of the significant pickups across competitive and active OPL leagues.
2:39 - Pete’s H2H Hero of the Week is Seiya Suzuki
4:56 - Chad’s H2H Hero of the Week is the now-injured Pete Fairbanks
23:30 - Randy Vásquez, Michael Soroka, and Emerson Hancock are off to hot starts
34:37 - Keaton Winn has been tearing it up for San Francisco, but he doesn't have the closers job. Does that put him behind Bryan Baker and Jakob Junis?
51:35 - Mauricio Dubón's position flexibility is getting him added in a lot of spots. How does he compare to Jeremiah Jackson?

K ꓘ 188 - Using the Wire in Keeper Formats
2026/04/06
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad (chadyoung.bsky.social) couldn't get together this week, so Chad went solo, talking about how he thinks about waivers and FAAB in keeper leagues as compared to redraft. With so much waiver wire content out there, how can you, the keeper-league-playing Keep or Kut listener, use that content for a different context than it was intended.
0:42 - H2H Heroes starts with a couple of bats, and while Chad picked Cam Smith, C.J. Abrams was worth a look, too.
10:05 - Chad planned on one hitter and one pitcher, but how do you decide between Sandy Alcantara and Cam Schlittler?
1949 break 1
19:50 - When it comes to hitters on the wire, Chad will prioritize long-term value because the upside (multiple seasons worth) is so much higher than for a one-year rental type. And that influences how he reads waiver content.
2935 break 2
29:36 - Pitchers, on the other hand, Chad is more inclined to focus on the present, at least relative to hitters.

K ꓘ 187 - Overreactions
2026/03/31
Keep or Kut - Chad and Pete react to some of their listeners' "overreactions."
2:30 - Chad’s H2H Hero of the Week: Chase DeLauter
4:53 - Pete’s H2H Hero of the Week: Wilyer Abreu… both homer picks!
9:09 - Is it too early to think “my team isn’t going to be very good this year?”
20:08 - ThecretThauce’s “overreaction” to debate is that Jacob Misiorowski leads MLB in BBs and Ks.
25:35 - Just how bad is the Giants’ offense?
33:34 - Skubal Trouble thinks Shea Langeliers will be C1 this year.
40:22 - Kevin Gausman and Dylan Cease have career years? Dylan Cease Cy Young? What about Bryan Woo?
50:50 - Rookie stuff! Sal Stewart over Konnor Griffin this year? What about some other rookies? Pete and Chad predict their AL and NL Rookies of the Year.

K ꓘ 186 - Guys We Have to Have
2026/03/16
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad (chadyoung.bsky.social) go three three ADP tiers and identify players they simply have to have in keeper leagues. These are players whose ADP represents a value this year and have potential to be great keepers, even if you have to pay an increasing cost for them, next year. We used FanTrax ADP and here are the rules we followed:
One player each from inside the top 100 ADP, one from ADP 101-200, and one outside the top 200.
Players should have keeper value, but they also have to be valuable this year. You are competing, so you aren't going to punt a pick and a roster spot to stash Jesús Made for a year or more.
4:35 - Pete goes pitching in the top 100, targeting Logan Gilbert for the possibility to combine his history as a 200-inning workhorse with his newfound 2025 K-rate.
10:04 - Chad wants to buy the dip on Jackson Merrill, whose ADP would make him a multi-year keeper if he rebounds like we expect.
18:06 - Chad sticks in the outfield, this time going for Heliot Ramos, whose ADP is just straight too low.
26:55 - Another outfielder, this time from Pete who loves the power from Daulton Varsho, even if you get nothing else from him.
36:39 - Once we get outside the top 200, a lot of prospects are interesting, but we tried to stay away from them, and Pete finds himself targeting Francisco Alvarez.
43:21 - Chad wraps things up with a look at why Jackson Holliday is on multiple of his rosters.

K ꓘ 185 - The Vagaries of Spring Training
2026/03/09
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad (chadyoung.bsky.social) are back at it and today they are looking at how much things can change over the course of spring training. From keeper decisions to drafts to FAAB, you need to be constantly adjusting when news - especially bad news - breaks in Spring.
2:00 - Zack Wheeler's value has moved quite a bit without much happening, and Chad and Pete aren't aligned on how much it should have moved. Plus, we discuss other injured pitchers and what we plan to do with them.
15:19 - How much did the Jurickson Profar suspension mess up Chad's outfields and what should he do about it? There aren't really any newly-interesting OF.
20:40 - Chad thinks there is real upside in the Rockies outfield, but you may not be able to roster more than one of those upside plays.
28:15 - Even as things are changing, it is much harder to trust the good (breakout performances and velocity gains) than the bad (injuries and suspensions) and that has implications for the depth of the player pool.
31:19 - In weekly lineup leagues, remember you don't need to trust everyone on your roster from day one - you can stash someone as long as you have a lineup you feel good about.
37:40 - Is this a good time to hit the trade market? It's much easier in keeper leagues than redraft.
49:28 - Looking at some intriguing Spring prospects: Spencer Jones, Joshua Baez, and Mick Abel.

K ꓘ 184 - Roto Listener League First Ten Rounds Recap
2026/02/09
Keep or Kut - Without Chad, Pete (@PeteBBaseball) breaks down his favorite and least favorite picks of each of the first 10 rounds of our Keep or Kut Listener League 1 roto draft.
2:14 - In the first round, Pete liked the one-pick discount on José Ramírez, but had to rationalize his own Matt Olson pick.
6:41 - Yoshinobu Yamamoto fell to the second round, where Randy Arozarena also got scooped up.
9:58 - While Pete wasn’t super enthused about Will Smith going in the third, Smith’s teammate, Freddie Freeman, he thought was a great pick.
15:34 - In Round 4, Pete goes on a tangent about people trying to predict injuries. Once he settles down, he shares that he loved the Seiya Suzuki pick but questions the Brandon Nimmo pick.
22:53 - More outfielders! Pete liked the Ian Happ pick in Round 5, but questioned his own move of reaching for stolen bases with Dylan Crews.
27:40 - Pete’s favorite pick in Round 6 was Jose Altuve. He mispronounces “Lowe” for the 800th time in this show’s history. He also was not a huge fan of the Teoscar Hernández pick.
32:10 - Zack Wheeler was Pete’s pick… and his favorite pick of Round 7. Is Ceddanne Rafaela worth it in Round 7?
36:39 - Isaac Paredes is still in Houston! Have faith! Munetaka Murakami has some serious power upside, but is this a little early for him?
41:50 - In Round 9, Pete really liked the Daulton Varsho pick. There were a few picks Pete wasn’t a fan of, but he ended up going with Griffin Jax.
45:05 - Round 10 included names such as Konnor Griffin, Gleyber Torres, and Dennis Santana.

K ꓘ 183 - Listener League Draft Recap - Part I
2026/01/26
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad Young (@chadyoung) just finished up a keeper league draft with 10 listeners and take some time to go through interesting picks and keeps.
4:13 - Chad and Pete pick 1-2 and the first tough calls of the draft came because Pete was "stuck" with a util-only bat at 1.1.
10:44 - Right off the start, you get guys being taken over ADP - even in the first round. But because of keepers, team structure and more, it's less a reach and more a pick that makes sense.
20:01 - Did Matt Heckman jump too early on Wyatt Langford? And how do we feel about a second round keeper price on Cal Raleigh?
23:10 break 1
23:11 - Third and fourth round keepers are high priced but generally make sense once you have context.
27:34 - George Springer is a great example of old guy value and he comes with real upside even at a high cost.
30:04 - We move into the fifth and sixth rounds, and Chad jumps into a mini-closer run, because he was committed to chasing saves because he kept a first closer.
37:40 - Eugenio Suárez is a solid pick with real upside and a deflated ADP because we don't know where he will land.
39:28 - Moving into the seventh round, we start to see teams reach for big upside and long-term keepers for the first time - and it might be happening earlier this year than last.
52:11 break 2
52:12 - Onto the ninth and tenth rounds where the draft swung back to old boring guys, but there are still a few names - even among the old guys! - with keeper upside.
59:05 - We move into the 11th and 12th rounds, and we're all reaching now, plus maybe we over-drafted closers early?

K ꓘ 182 - Listener Questions 2
2026/01/12
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad Young (@chadyoung) respond to more of our listeners' questions!
4:55 - Henry asks about $3-5 prospects in Ottoneu. Worth keeping? Cutting?
14:20 - Paul has one keeper slot for any of the following (all cost a last-round pick to keep): Konnor Griffin, Bryce Eldridge, Sal Stewart, Kyle Stowers, or Cam Schlittler.
20:35 - Ben asks about a second utility spot being added to his league. Chad is vehemently against it.
26:10 - Christian asks, when is it best to sell in Ottoneu, and what are you looking for in return?
31:45 - RoadKiehl asks about the new ABS rules and if they will have any impact on pitchers, hitters, or catchers. Chad has done his research on it!
50:00 - Christian wants to know about Guardians and Red Sox pitchers, Pete loves Gavin Williams' and Payton Tolle's fastballs

K ꓘ 181 - Listener Questions
2025/12/22
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad Young (@chadyoung) got a slew of listener questions and do their best to get through as many possible. Who has increased their value this off-season? What's up at CI? How do you balance and think about values in different formats?
2:22 - Who are risers in keeper leagues due to the transactions we have already seen this off-season? Willson Contreras is the latest transaction and maybe the biggest gainer.
7:26 - Munetaka Murakami landing in a pretty good spot, for atypical reasons.
14:46 - The Tigers bullpen is supposedly unsettled but it feels kinda settled.
22:37 - Staying in San Diego makes Michael King look at a little better to Chad, while not a ton changes in terms of how we view Shane Baz.
22:08 - Did the Tampa/Pittsburgh/Houston three-way trade hurt everyone's value? Pete says not quite everyone.
32:34 - Some quick thoughts on Adolis Garcia, Edwin Diaz, Robert Suarez, and Raisel Iglesias
36:45 - How is the lockout impacting our long-term planning in keeper and dynasty leagues?
41:06 - Would Pete trade his 21st round Corbin Carroll for a 24th round Cal Raleigh?
46:54 - How are we feeling about the state of CI at the moment?
58:01 - How do we switch our mindset as we move between different formats with different scoring?

K ꓘ 180 - Offseason Trade Analysis
2025/12/08
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad Young (@chadyoung) break down some of the trades they have finalized in the Keep or Kut listener leagues.
7:30 - After going over the Sonny Gray trade to Boston and the Ryan Helsley acquisition by Baltimore, the hosts discuss Pete's trade of Samuel Basallo and a 4th-round pick for Julio Rodríguez.
13:20 - Chad has a 4th-round Zach Neto. Should he keep him? A good conversation about Jackson Holliday follows, as Chad gave up both Trevor Rogers and Shane Bieber to acquire him.
33:46 - Chad acquired Jackson Merrill for Josh Naylor and a pick, buying low on the young Padres outfielder
44:40 - Pete traded a 15th-round pick and an 11th-round pick for a 9th-round pick. He explains why.
55:57 - Chad traded away a 16th-round Robbie Ray in exchange for a 15th-round pick.

K ꓘ 179 - Podcast Network Mock Draft Review
2025/11/24
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) took part in the Pitcher List Podcast Network mock draft in Octobter. This week, Chad Young (@chadyoung) grills Pete (nicely) on his strategy, his picks, what went well, what didn't, and what he learned. Along the way, they try to bring in some keeper league thoughts, as well.
1:40 - What makes a draft like this different from a keeper draft - and what makes this draft particularly unique?
11:09 - Picking 11th, Pete made a tactical choice to wait on pitching, knowing he could get his ace at 14, landing Fernando Tatis, Jr. and Paul Skenes.
17:43 - At the 3/4 turn, Pete went bat-arm again, this time maybe reaching for a bat he loves (Roman Anthony) and taking an unexpected 2nd ace who fell (Yoshinobu Yamamoto)
23:21 - Pitching keeps falling so in the 5th and 6th, Pete ends up with a third ace in Max Fried and fills SS with Bo Bichette.
29:24 - Are we feeling different about Bichette in keepers vs. redraft?
31:37 - In the 7th and 8th, Pete is feeling good about his three-headed ace and is looking for bats to strengthen his offense. He finds Brandon Lowe and Eugenio Suarez at two relatively weak positions.
37:34- Among a run of hitters joining Pete's team, Pete takes his first closer, and opts for Aroldis Chapman over Cade Smith, then follows that up with Spencer Torkelson in the 10th, Michael Harris in the 11th and Teoscar Hernandez in the 12th.
50:48 - Pete jumps back in the pitching market adding Tanner Bibee and Emmet Sheehan over a slew of other pitchers going in this range, before grabbing Kenley Jansen at the end of a closer run.
55:54 - On the other side of the turn after Jansen, Pete grabs Luis Robert, Jr., one of a number of buy-low bounce backs (too many, perhaps) he grabbed in this draft. Then he adds Jonathan Aranda and Mackenzie Gore, who really shouldn't be buy-lows.
1:02:06 - Pete closes out with a high upside play (Munetaka Murakami), his starting C (Drake Baldwin), a couple additional SP (Parker Messick and Brayan Bello), and a guy whose second half was better than you think (Christian Walker).
1:11:44 - A quick look at a few players who went undrafted but could be interesting.

K ꓘ 178 - Ottoneu 4x4 Roster Breakdown (Pitching Edition)
2025/11/03
Keep or Kut - Pete (@PeteBBaseball) and Chad Young (@chadyoung) discuss the pitchers on their 4x4 rosters, examining who they might keep and who they might kut.
3:07 - Conversation begins by looking at the double-digit price pitchers on Pete's roster. Conversation includes $31 Logan Webb, $15 Michael King, $14 Tanner Bibee, $14 Aaron Nola, and $13 Eury Perez.
16:04 - Chad's double-digit priced pitchers are $28 Pablo López, $27 Logan Gilbert, $25 George Kirby, $24 Corbin Burnes, $11 Connelly Early.
28:45 - Chad's less expensive starters include $8 Kyle Bradish, $7 Gavin Williams, $6 Spencer Arrighetti, $6 Joey Cantillo, $5 Ryne Nelson, $4 Nolan McLean, $4 Trey Yesavage, $4 Joe Boyle, $4 Griffin Canning, $3 Grant Holmes, $3 AJ Blubaugh.
40:00 - Pete's single-digit priced starters are $9 Gerrit Cole, $6 Bubba Chandler, $6 Jonah Tong, $5 Jacob Lopez, $5 Mitch Keller, $5 Brayan Bello, $3 Logan Henderson, $3 Shane Smith, $3 Noah Cameron, $3 Ryan Weathers, $3 Casey Mize.
55:23 - Pete doesn't carry any prospect pitchers, but his relievers include $5 Jeff Hoffman, $4 Luke Weaver, $4 David Bednar, $3 Adrian Morejon, $3 Daniel Palencia.
58:11 - Chad's relievers include $4 Ben Joyce, $4 Hunter Gaddis, $3 Abner Uribe, $4 Reid Detmers. For prospects, he has $4 Liam Doyle and $2 Gage Jump.

K ꓘ 177 - Ottoneu 4x4 Roster Breakdown
2025/10/06
Keep or Kut - Chad (@chadyoung) and Pete (@PeteBBaseball) pull up their rosters in Ottoneu league 1372, the Keep or Kut Listener League, and talk through who is a keeper, who is a cut, and who should maybe be shopped over the off-season. While trade season hasn't kicked off and it is too early to make final decisions, getting a sense of where you stand is a great place to start.
5:35 - What we're doing in our keeper leagues right now - first pass at keepers, positional eligibility, etc.
14:42 - Breaking down our Listener league rosters, starting with Pete's corner infielders, including an interesting debate on Marcell Ozuna.
23:08 - Chad's CI situation is mostly settled, but is Miguel Vargas a $3 keeper and how much does it hurt to bail on $17 Royce Lewis?
31:52 - The future of Pete's MI is pretty fun, but does he have enough MLB production? That might depend on what you think of Marcelo Mayer.
40:58 - Chad's MI looks a lot better after Jorge Polanco went off while we recorded, especially given how weak 2B is.
48:03 - Pete's OF has some tough calls, including a $16 Jarren Duran and $5 Brenton Doyle
58:03 - Chad has some tough calls on $20+ OF and that, in turn, may push some decisions on cheaper OF.
1:06:19 - We each have more prospects that we would ideally like to keep, but who gets cut loose?

K ꓘ 176 - Second Half Buy or Sell
2025/09/29
Keep or Kut - Chad (@chadyoung) and Pete (@PeteBBaseball) look at the top (and some of the bottom) performers in the second half of the fantasy season and discuss what went wrong and what that means for their keeper value and 2026 draft status. How high are we ranking Shea Langeliers? How far did Elly de la Cruz fall? And which surprise pitchers do we like best?
6:00 - Our final H2H heroes, starting with Michael Harris II
10:04 - Did a hot finish save the draft value on Fernando Tatis, Jr., and James Wood?
12:45 - Looking at second half performances starting with the number one second-half catcher in fantasy: Shea Langeliers
22:12 - Brice Turang is in elite company in the second half.
34:09 - Some surprising names among the top ten SP in the second half.
48:42 - Are we buying the second half from David Bednar?
54:09 - Turning towards players who underperformed in the second half, starting with Elly de la Cruz.
1:00:56 - What's up with Kyle Tucker?
1:04:02 - Two disappointing Jacksons.

Must Listen New Fantasy Baseball Pod Especially for Players in Deeper Leagues
I cannot stress enough how refreshing it is to listen to a pod on deep leagues. The more mainstream ones cover 10-12 team leagues and the information ...
