hello my little creative creatures. A couple weeks ago, I released a new part of the Inglorious series on Valentine’s Day. It’s a short book with a short episode with the detail about the details.  Thanks for listening and happy Friday :) The Sami Store -https://thesamishow.storenvy.com/ My Inglorious Ink Series! - https://www.amazon.com/stores/Samantha-Parrish/author/B0BNQ2D7D1?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

Just like John McClane, I got this just in time for Christmas.  So as a head’s up, I had to record some of this in a different room which is why my voice and the background noise is gonna be uncomfortably noticeable, and as much as I hate it. I would rather it get out there than not pursued.  But with that said, I hope everyone enjoys this lil’ in depth look at the story moments I loved.  Take care and MERRY CRIMBUS -Sami Parrish  My Inglorious Ink Series! - https://www.amazon.com/stores/Samantha-Parrish/author/B0BNQ2D7D1?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

I’ve teased this episode to death and now it’s finally FINALLY here. Ironically, the day I published the prequel, I was so excited that I made this new book that I recorded this tell-all episode. But after its debut in September 23rd 2023, I felt something was wrong. I read it and nothing seemed right when I first published it. (Not a good feeling to have, but it’s not my first rodeo).  I’ve been writing for a decade now and I’ve been published for seven of them. There’s going to be highs and lows, but not many people know about how low my lows have been. But I did find a way to get back up and here I am.  In this special featurette, I had the pleasure of sharing what process of the prequel was like (before and after it’s publishing—you’ll find out why). I shared what chapter became my favorite, and some of the various Easter eggs that I sprinkled in there.  Thank you for staying along for the ride  The Company Of Crime is Available on Amazon. I got a super fast link in the bio below (because I like to make things easier, even if I d on’t make them easier for myself). Fanfictions has taken a fascinating journey over the years. I'm glad it's still a creative outlet, but it took time for it to get to the point that it wasn't the butt of the stereotype joke (well it still is, but in better taste). It still gets to me that I've been reading fanfictions for almost two decades, and they don't get enough credit for being the leading way to a writing career (and whatever it was that EL James made.)  part 1: Intro Part 2: The History & Impact of fanfiction Part 3: My time as a fanfiction writer Part 4: Is fanfiction still in my life? This episode gets personal. After releasing my prequel to Inglorious Ink, I had to stop and have a vibe check with myself. I asked myself, "Am I putting too much of myself? Are there any characters that show my dialect or personality?" I ran into that problem with the redux after cleaning up the story. I have to say, I still put the majority of my life in the book, but it's sprinkled.  and OH BOY. Do I have some sprinkles to talk about.  Thank you for listening to this episode, take care and b e s a f e.  Podcast Important notes Cover art by Emily Whitacre (https://teenytinycoffeebean.carrd.co/) Credit to song creator - Drowned - Lesion X https://soundcloud.com/lesionxbeats  Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0  Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/al-drowned  Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/8kYMOn3XNOk  Thank you for listening to this episode, take care and b e s a f e.  Podcast Important notes Cover art by Emily Whitacre (https://teenytinycoffeebean.carrd.co/) Credit to song creator - Drowned - Lesion X https://soundcloud.com/lesionxbeats  Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0  Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/al-drowned  Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/8kYMOn3XNOk  My Inglorious Ink Series! - https://www.amazon.com/stores/Samantha-Parrish/author/B0BNQ2D7D1?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

On this week's episode of the Parrish Passages Podcast, your host has a special preview for you. An exclusive reading of the first chapter from the redux series. Before you get that audible version one day, enjoy the off-the-cuff raw, unplugged reading. Doing the reading was surreal, I felt like I was having an out-of-body experience. There is something unsaid about the feeling an author gets when they read their work and forget they were the ones who wrote this. After all the frustration i went through all these years, I got this moment to feel proud I WROTE THIS. I could imagine the scenes coming together just as I did years ago when I first wrote it back in 2017. This is just another step to be taken to get Inglorious Ink where I want it to be, but this was a fun little baby steps to enjoy what I wrote.  Thank you for listening to this episode, take care and b e s a f e.  Podcast Important notes Cover art by Emily Whitacre (https://teenytinycoffeebean.carrd.co/) Credit to song creator - Drowned - Lesion X https://soundcloud.com/lesionxbeats  Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0  Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/al-drowned  Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/8kYMOn3XNOk  Thank you for listening to this episode, take care and b e s a f e.  Podcast Important notes Cover art by Emily Whitacre (https://teenytinycoffeebean.carrd.co/) Credit to song creator - Drowned - Lesion X https://soundcloud.com/lesionxbeats  Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported — CC BY 3.0  Free Download / Stream: http://bit.ly/al-drowned  Music promoted by Audio Library https://youtu.be/8kYMOn3XNOk  My Inglorious Ink Series! - https://www.amazon.com/stores/Samantha-Parrish/author/B0BNQ2D7D1?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=true

The journey of an author is just like a story, there’s a brave new beginning, hardship, tears, plot twists. But before I get my happy ending an author, I need to have a beginning, and I never had that. HEY OPEN ME! I’M NOT A TRAP HA HA I FOOLED YOU. Thank you for listening to this episode, ironically I didn’t think I would be doing an episode about confidence, the one topic that took time for me to get and saw this as a test of my own confidence. Confidence takes time, be your own teacher when it comes to confidence. You know yourself, and what your capable when it comes to your story. Know that this story is yours, your fictional one and your real life one. You’ve discovered the podcast notes! As a movie buff and TV trivia fan, this was a joy to venture into using my drabbles and rambles about these writer characters for an episode. I used to tell my mom, “Oh look Ron Howard or Kevin Bacon made this movie” and my mom would say, “Sami they didn’t make it, they just told people what to do.” After cinema classes and hours of learning of the WHOLE process, it made me realize I never gave the proper credit to the storyteller.  If there is anything I’ve learned that I have to keep telling myself on days I don’t feel I’m producing good parts of the plot to my book or making constructive and conclusive articles. I have to remember that the flaws I see in myself are also present in some of the pieces of media I see. It’s comforting in a way that not every part of writing is going to be perfect and I’m glad these characters I’m talking about are accurately flawed to the process one writer has to take. It’s all apart of the evolution.  Chapter selections Part 1: Guinevere Beck from Netflix’s YOU: Beck is an ambitious writer despite the way someone is ambitiously after her to be apart of HER story in real life, how is she a different writer being one of the newest modern writer characters? Part 2: Annie Easton from Shrill, this character was based on the book Shrill: Notes from a loud woman. Fun fact: there is double the writer power in this series. With the combined forces of comediane and star Aidy Bryant with Lindy West who wrote the essay. The adaptation of a nonfiction book was portrayed to realistic perfection.  Part 3: Paul Sheldon from Misery: What happens when your biggest fan challenges everything you’ve ever known as a writer to wonder who is really reading your material? I stretched this part a little bit more to include how Annie Wilkes effected Paul Sheldon in many abusive ways of the danger Paul faced. He truly was in misery.  Part 4: Hannah Horvath from HBO’s Girls: It’s a love or hate, no inbetween matter, the episode shells out all the points about this messy millennial commentary show created and written by Lena Dunham. Many traits and commentaries about these characters will be mentioned in the next episode, you’ll find out which characters and what moments I’ll be recapping about in the next episode How Far is Too Far?  Some reading material to go with the episode’s listening material Is Shrill better then Girls? | Geeks (vocal.media) Instagram – parrishpassages tiktok – themysticalspacewitch Hey you made it this far down, why don’t you check out my book since you liked my show!
