In this episode I interviewed Liv Dawn who is a singer-songwriter from Loch Lomond. Liv was a finalist for the BBC Singer-Songwriter of the year in 2019 and she then went on to support Tom Walker on his tour in early 2020. Her style is a combination of pop, folk and country and she describes her music as 'compelling tales relating to everyday life and relationships'. We spoke about the power of networking and how many of her personal experiences led to different opportunities for her music. She shared helpful tips about how certain things inspire her writing and how lockdown is giving her the time to focus on getting into a creative zone with songwriting. We also discuss the phased reopening of the Live Music sector and one of the biggest topics this week, #KeepVATat5 in response to the potential increase of VAT on ticket sales from 5% to 20%. 

In this episode I interviewed one of my good friends ANDREW BATES, who is an electronic pop musician from Glasgow. Andrew has done particularly well for himself with his music, most notably with his top songs 'Breathe In'. and 'Something About Us.' We spoke about his personal journey with music and how he got involved in songwriting and producing, as well as his personal influences. In the later half of the interview we discuss more about issues affecting the music industry at the current moment, such as Brexit, COVID-19 and TikTok.  Hope you enjoy.
