How can we enchant and delight our lives using the Metaverse

This episode features the recent Smart Cities World webinar in association with IOTICS which saw some fascinating discussions around the topic of smart places. “How can we use data and technology to make our cities and places smart?” IOTICS brought together an amazing panel of experts to discuss this topic. Melissa Zanocco OBE is head of programmes for the Infrastructure Client Group. She discusses the importance of “Enabling people and nature to flourish together”. Molly Blatchley-Lewis, Global Cities, Transport & Infrastructure - Europe Lead for Accenture emphasised the importance of making data-driven decisions.  IOTICS’ own Head of Engagement, Ali Nicholl, suggested cooperation could be the key to building smart, “enchanted” places in the natural and built environment.

Digital Reflections is back for another season. In this episode, Lindsey discusses innovating at scale with leaders in the digital transformation space. With expertise from Mark as a strategic advisor for Mott MacDonald, he discusses the complexities of understanding systematic issues such as climate change and solving them at scale. Giuliano shares his experience as an innovation manager alongside founding member of IOTICS, Ali Nicholl. They discuss how to turn the tide when it comes to old fashioned ways of thinking when it comes to leadership and how to make changes that have the potential to transform the way we innovate.

This week on Digital Reflections, Ali and Marcus are chatting with Tom Henderson, the Program Manager at techUK, the UK’s Technology Trade Association. Tom focuses on smart infrastructure and systems, including digital twins and smart cities. So, as you can imagine, Tom’s ideas and vision are right up our alley. Our opportunity to speak with Tom couldn’t be better, as techUK launched a report last week called “Unlocking Value Across the UK’s Digital Twin Ecosystem,” which shifts the focus on digital twin technology from whether we use them, to how we use them.
