Episode 65: The Worst Haircut in Halifax, Identity Theft at Sunday School & Rec Hockey Donnybrooks
2026/01/19
In Episode 65 of The Island Green, Len, Chris, and Todd dive into the absolute chaos of Prince Edward Island life, both on and off the course. Todd finally comes clean about a year-long case of identity theft at Sunday school (sorry, "Patrick"), while Len recounts a rec hockey game that ended in a "Hextall chop" and an ice-skating skirmish. In this episode: What the hell does "six-seven" mean? (We still don't know)New Year's resolutions that start on January 10th (Chris has his reasons)Wayne Gretzky rookie cards Todd cheats on his barber and pays the price in HalifaxThe legendary story of their Len Sr. expecting VIP seating at Christmas MassAnd some golf stuff too mixed in there - come on, it's not exactly Golf Season. Pull up a chair, a beer, and enjoy.
Episode 64: Wrapping 2025 and Swinging Into 2026
2026/01/02
The Island Green crew is back for their first episode of 2026, broadcasting once again from the Basement of Dreams with beers in hand and zero distractions, allegedly. Len, Chris, and Todd wrap up their golf year with laughs over Golf Canada “wrapped” stats, travel stories, rounds played across the country and abroad, and what it really means to be in the top one percent of golf supporters. The conversation drifts into private club board life, pace of play complaints, why volunteering sounds great until it involves effort, and how to instantly silence a frustrated member. Along the way, the boys reflect on podcast life, listener dedication, viral moments that may or may not exist, and officially kick off sim season while raising a glass to more golf in 2026.
Episode 63: The Broncos Santa Suit, Simulator Season & The Belfast Open Debate
2025/12/09
The boys are back in the basement with Chris sporting an aggressive Denver Broncos Santa hat and sweater combo. In this episode, the crew recaps a chaotic ping pong tournament where Todd dominated and Len treated his paddle like a 60-degree wedge, nearly taking out the ceiling. Chris airs his grievances in a new "Marketplace Controversy" involving a pair of "brand new" shorts that turned out to be DIY cut-off pants. Plus, the guys discuss the start of winter simulator season, controversial talk about the addition of the "Belfast Open", and share thoughts on Tiger and Charlie Woods. Episode Highlights: Chris's "aggressive" Broncos Christmas outfit. Recap of the Island Green Ping Pong Championship (and Len's lack of backhand). The "Marketplace Controversy" Embracing winter golf and simulator season. The new Belfast Open on the Tournament Calendar
Episode 62: Featuring - Hunter Burke
2025/11/21
The boys take Island Green & Beyond on the road again, this time recording right inside the Belvedere Golf Club simulator bay. The vibes are high, the taps are flowing, and the chirps are elite. Episode 62 features an awesome sit-down with one of PEI’s brightest young athletes, Hunter Burke, fresh off his run at the Notah Begay World Junior Championship. Hunter talks pressure, putting, playing with Tony Finau’s son, and what it’s like dropping a par four hole-in-one (as your first). The guys swap stories about birthday weeks, inversion tables, photography chaos, and how juniors today somehow handle pressure better than grown men. A fun mix of golf, laughs, life, and one seriously impressive young talent.
Episode 61: Halloween Chaos & Blue Jays Heartbreak
2025/11/03
Episode 61 dives hard into the “Beyond” part of Island Green & Beyond. The boys set up shop in Todd’s legendary basement: From there it’s pure chaos in the best way possible. They swap stories about daylight savings confusion (including parents with two watches and clocks set 20 minutes fast), memory hacks from Jim Kwik, and how brain tricks might actually help you remember names in your weekend foursome. Then it’s all-in on PEI Halloween drama: trick-or-treating getting moved for weather, being the “big chocolate bar house,” potato and apple handouts, UNICEF money mysteriously “compounding,” and kids running complex candy-arbitrage routes across counties. Eventually, they stumble back toward sports with a cathartic breakdown of the Blue Jays–Dodgers World Series: superstition, blown leads, wild moments, payroll rants, and the eternal debate of loyalty vs ring-chasing. There’s even a quick nod to King of the Hill at Glasgow to remind everyone this is still technically a golf podcast. Grab a Coffee Crisp, steal a Reese’s from the kids’ bag, and come hang in the basement.
Episode 60: Atlantic & Capital Reunion, Jays Fever, and Ryder Cup Chaos!
2025/10/22
The boys are back with new audio gear and the same kitchen-table energy! Len digs up Todd’s secret rap past (yes, Atlantic & Capital was real), then we dive into Jays mania, Todd’s wild elevator run-in at the playoffs, and his VIP Ryder Cup adventure that somehow involved Trump, fake lanyards, and “I’m an 01” security clearance. We wrap up with the Cavendish Cup victory recap, golf season debates, and a few classic Island chirps along the way. Grab a beer, hit play, and enjoy a laugh with the Island Green crew.
Episode 59: Grips, Trips & The Atlantic Cup Battle
2025/09/24
We’re back in the kitchen and back on track after last week’s audio hiccup (fired the whole audio staff… they’re working for Kimmel now). This one’s packed: • Tales of regripping gone wrong, fat grips vs skinny grips, and a little mix-up you won’t believe. • Chris’ Whistler adventure - golf at Nicklaus North, Big Sky, and a zipline that nearly had him passed out mid-air. • Inside the Atlantic Cup at Osprey Ridge - PEI’s sharp quarter-zips, top competition, wild formats, and Michael Kiley’s coming-out party against some of the region’s best. • The eternal debate: how many golf balls do you carry, when do you swap one out, and does anyone actually mark them the same way every time? • Ryder Cup hype - Todd’s heading to Bethpage, and we dig into what makes this event unlike anything else in golf. • Plus: the PEI men’s senior baseball team winning nationals, Belvedere’s lifetime membership draw, and the latest Currie Controversy It’s golf, stories, laughs, and a little Island flavour - exactly what you expect from Island Green & Beyond.
Episode 58: Around the Kitchen Table
2025/09/12
First things first – our apologies. The audio gremlins showed up in this one, so you’ll notice a few rough patches. Thanks for sticking with us, because this episode is a special one. For the very first time, all three of us – Len, Chris, and Todd – are gathered around the same table in Len’s kitchen, coffees in hand. The conversation flows from Island golf to family chaos, with plenty of laughs and detours along the way. Highlights include: A “Top Notch Golf” check-in and tales from recent rounds.Scramble season winding down and fall finishes on PEI.A wild story about stolen clubs and the surprising role of an AirTag.Travel plans, kids’ sports, and a few classic Currie tangents that you’ve come to expect. It’s part golf podcast, part kitchen-table hangout, and 100% Island Green.
Episode 57: Welcome Todd Gregory
2025/09/04
The mics are hot again as Len and Chris roll into Episode 57 with a brand-new intro and plenty of fairway chatter. This one brings the laughs, the stories, and a special guest: Kicking things off with Top Notch Golf updates and a few gear steals you won’t want to miss. Welcoming Todd Gregory to the pod: scratch golfer, three-time Fox Meadow champ, and maybe the Island’s best table tennis player. Local golf talk: Strathgartney’s updates, Fox Meadow memories, and what’s next for the Island’s courses. Todd’s take on tournament play, pressure golf, and how he balances it with the Tuesday crew. The usual side-banter that veers from golf to laughs to a few digs at each other. Another mix of golf insights and good fun - exactly why Island Green and Beyond is back in your rotation.
Episode 56: Shanked the Schedule, Flushed the Return
2025/08/29
After a long layoff, Len and Chris are finally back on the mics, shaking off the rust and diving straight into golf, gossip, and plenty of side-banter. This episode has it all: Welcoming Top Notch Golf as the show’s new sponsor (and hyping their big blowout sale). Catch-up chatter from Clyde River discounts to TayTay + Travis Kelce engagement jokes. The state of Island courses after the driest summer in years, and a big shoutout to the superintendents keeping greens alive. PGA Tour talk: Tommy Fleetwood finally gets his win, Brooke Henderson delivers, and why even Glenda is a Fleetwood fan. Wrapping it up with the Marty Koughan Memorial Scramble, a few laughs about Amazing Race Canada, and the new segment of “classic Currie controversy.” It’s the return of Island Green and Beyond… if you missed the green, we’re now back in play.
