Knock, Break, Pick, or Find the Key!
2026/09/02
Week 171! What does the way you deal with a locked door say about your personality? Apparently, quite a lot — especially if your answer is “break it down.” This week on Deaf Dialogue, Davi, Wes VA, and Quiet K somehow turn a simple locked-door hypothetical into a full-blown Hogwarts house personality test. Would you knock? Search for a key? Pick the lock? Or just destroy the damn door? The answers lead to an unexpected debate over Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff — and, naturally, everyone immediately forgets what Slytherin is actually supposed to represent. The conversation also gets a little more serious as Wes talks about his ongoing back problems, the frustrations of trying to get medical care, and his upcoming MRI and specialist appointment. Then L’Oreal shares a scary experience involving flashes and dark spots in her vision that sent her to the ER and ultimately revealed a change in the vitreous of her eye. Throw in some ridiculous guessing games, random tangents, and the usual Deaf Dialogue chaos, and you've got another episode that somehow manages to go from Harry Potter to back pain to eye anatomy without making any sense at all — which is exactly how we like it. Enjoy!
When the House Gets Quiet!
2026/08/27
Week 170! This week on Deaf Dialogue, we return from Spain and immediately find ourselves dealing with something much heavier. Dave shares the heartbreaking loss of Minnie, his dog of 14 years, and the guys talk about grief, aging, the strange emptiness left behind when someone is suddenly gone, and the difficult decisions that come with saying goodbye. From there, the conversation moves into getting older, dealing with physical pain, navigating the healthcare system, and the realization that sometimes you can't fix everything. It's an emotional episode, but there are still plenty of the usual laughs, stories, and side conversations along the way. A conversation about loss, acceptance, pain, and learning to appreciate what we have while we still have it. Enjoy!
Spain, Burning Cities & Making New Friends!
2026/08/25
Week 169! This week on Deaf Dialogue, Dave is officially headed to Spain—and the excitement, nerves, and chaos are all setting in. After completing the civil ceremony for the couple he's marrying, the guys talk about the upcoming trip to Valencia, navigating a foreign country without speaking much Spanish, and the incredible Las Fallas festival, where massive works of art are literally set on fire. But the conversation takes a turn when the bride-to-be points out something the guys hadn't really considered: they don't have many local friends they actually hang out with. That sparks a conversation about friendship, adulthood, making connections, and why finding people you genuinely want to spend time with can become surprisingly difficult as you get older. Plus, a foul ball at the Little League World Series, questionable geography knowledge, 19-hour train rides, blood rain from the Sahara, and Dave's apparently terrible idea for a guys' night. Enjoy!
The Unlock: Why Failure Can Be the Best Part!
2026/08/24
Week 168! This week on Deaf Dialogue, Kyle is officially hooked on bouldering—and discovers that sometimes the only way to figure something out is to fall first. The guys talk about fear, perseverance, problem-solving, and the incredible feeling of finally finding “the unlock” after struggling with something that seemed impossible. From hanging off overhung walls and learning the difference between brute strength and proper technique to realizing that watching someone else succeed doesn't necessarily take away from your own journey, the conversation explores what happens when you stop avoiding failure and start learning from it. Plus: old songs that somehow remind Dave of Kyle, questionable basketball accolades, and the strange realization that sometimes the hardest thing isn't impossible—you just haven't figured out how to approach it yet. Enjoy!
The Climb Begins!
2026/08/05
Week 167! ave is getting ready to officiate a wedding in Spain... and somehow that includes learning Spanish, writing the perfect ceremony, and possibly showing up with brightly colored hair. This week, the guys catch up on wedding preparations, Epic Universe adventures, and the surprising differences between a 15-minute ceremony and an hour-long one. Then the conversation shifts to trying new things as Kyle shares why he finally stepped into a bouldering gym after years of putting it off—and how climbing has unexpectedly become a way to quiet his mind, face fear, and stay present. It's an episode about embracing new experiences, stepping outside your comfort zone, finding unexpected passions, and realizing that sometimes the hardest part of any climb is simply deciding to start. Enjoy!
Expect Less, Live More!
2026/07/30
Week 166! Can lowering your expectations actually make you happier? This week, the guys dive into the surprising idea of living with fewer expectations—and why it might be one of the healthiest mindset shifts you can make. They unpack anxiety, stressful workloads, avoiding risky left turns, and the strange ways our brains create unnecessary pressure. Along the way, they debate Wawa vs. Sheetz, laugh about relationship quirks, complain about endless winter, and wonder why Canadian geese insist on walking across frozen ponds when they can literally fly. It's a mix of thoughtful conversations, relatable frustrations, and the kind of everyday observations that somehow turn into life lessons. If you've ever felt overwhelmed, overthought the smallest decisions, or just needed a reminder to roll with whatever life throws at you, this episode is for you. Enjoy!
The Places We Leave Behind!
2026/07/25
Week 165! Can you miss a version of your life without wanting to go back? This week, the guys dive into nostalgia, regret, and personal growth as they explore the places, people, and chapters that shaped who they are. From missing old homes and simpler routines to reflecting on addiction, military life, and the weight of past decisions, the conversation turns into an honest look at what it means to move forward without forgetting where you came from. Along the way, they discuss the difference between happiness and longing, whether we romanticize the past, why traffic can somehow become a metaphor for life, and how becoming a better version of yourself can change the way you view everything that came before. It's an episode about perspective, second chances, and realizing that sometimes the hardest place to leave behind is the one you loved the most. Enjoy!
Leave It Behind!
2026/07/12
Week 164! As one year ends and another begins, we're talking about more than just resolutions. We kick things off by sharing the habits, fears, and mindsets we're leaving behind in 2025—from seeking approval and waiting for the "perfect time" to pretending everything is okay. Then the conversation takes a hilarious turn as we challenge each other with increasingly outrageous money dilemmas. Would you live in Walmart for 24 hours? Trade phones with a stranger? Give up sugar for a decade? Or live in a tiny house with ten random roommates for millions? Equal parts thoughtful, ridiculous, and unexpectedly revealing, this episode is the perfect way to wrap up the year and start the next one with a fresh perspective. 🎙️ Leave behind what no longer serves you... and find out what price it would take to make us question everything. Enjoy!
What Childhood Quietly Took From Us!
2026/07/11
Week 163! A rude YouTube comment unexpectedly sends us down one of the deepest conversations we've had yet. What starts as a discussion about online negativity turns into an honest look at something many of us carry without realizing it: the fear of being judged. We explore why it's so difficult to dance, be goofy, celebrate freely, or simply let ourselves be seen. Along the way, we talk about childhood experiences, parenting, emotional suppression, masculinity in the '90s and early 2000s, therapy, and the invisible moments that shape who we become as adults. If you've ever felt embarrassed for being yourself, this episode might hit closer to home than you expect. 🎙️ Sometimes the smallest comment reveals the biggest truths. Enjoy!

2026/03/04
Week 160! Tonight’s episode is one of the most powerful conversations we’ve had. Becky joins us to share what it was like being the surrogate for Jess and James — and carrying the only embryo they had after Jessica’s cancer diagnosis. That embryo was frozen for seven years. There was one chance. We talk about: Volunteering for surrogacy without hesitation IVF and the emotional weight of “one shot” Hematomas that mimicked miscarriage Hearing the heartbeat on the scariest day Managing POTS during pregnancy Waiting seven years for the right timing It’s raw. Father Dave, Bad Dogs & 20-Second Eye Surgery
2026/02/28

The Guilt of a Generous Gift (And the Disc Golf Spiral That Followed)
2026/02/26
Week 156! In this episode of Deaf Dialogue, Dave unpacks the emotional rollercoaster of receiving a massive surprise from Kyle — excitement, guilt, pressure, shoulder injuries, and the terrifying feeling of “now I have to be good at this.” We talk disc golf obsession, sports injuries, favorite discs, lost legends (RIP to the EMAC Truth stuck 100 feet up in a tree), and why receiving generosity can sometimes feel heavier than giving it. Plus: The psychology of big gifts Shoulder anxiety and playing through pain Disc golf nerd-out (Latitude 64 Pure, Felons, Trespasses & more) The one that got away It’s funny. It’s honest.
