In today’s podcast, Nuno Neves and I have a discussion on the nature of creativity. We discuss what it is, what makes us creative, constraints on being creative, good and bad creativity and how imagination and learning from other’s creativity in music, art and writing can help us to create.

Today’s guest is Phil Town, a teacher and a writer who’s been living in Lisbon for 30 years. Phil writes short stories (flash fiction) and screenplays and has written more than 300 stories and four full length screenplays. My guest today is Marina Pacheco, a prolific writer who has written more than thirty books in various genres including historical fiction, romance, science fiction and short stories. She has lived in a number of cities including London, Johannesburg, and Bangkok before settling in Lisbon. As this interview was recorded over the phone it has slightly lower audio quality.

My guest today is Caroline Brogden, a  university student from North Carolina who is on a 2-month work trip to Lisbon. Caroline is interested in creative writing and has joined the Lisbon Writers group .

My guest on today’s podcast is Elizabeth Malca Salaverry, a writer and a member of the Lisbon Writers group. She grew up in Peru and moved to Mexico for a year, then UAE for twenty years and most recently to Lisbon. She is researching and writing a novel set during the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula from 900 to 1400.

My guest on today’s podcast is Diana Lima. She is a writer and a member of the Lisbon Writers group. She grew up in Lisbon and went to Milan at aged 18 to live and go to university and work and returned ten years later. She has written one novel and is half way through writing the second one. Today’s podcast is an interview with Diego Aguilar, a young filmmaker from Mexico City, now living here in Lisbon. Diego has made a number of short films, and has written lots of short stories, some of which he has shared at the Lisbon Writers Group. Since arriving here in Lisbon three months ago he has completed his courses on learning Portuguese and in now ready to further his studies in Filmmaking.

In today’s podcast I welcomed back my brother Peter Daly, for another discussion. Last year I did a podcast with him about Stoicism which included a discussion about Marcus Aurelius emperor and stoic philosopher. Today Peter is here to talk about Roman history and civilisation from the start of the reign of Augustus to the end of the empire in 476 AD. At the end the discussion moves on to how the Roman Empire influenced todays society.

Today’s podcast is the first in a new season of podcasts and was recorded in Lisbon. It features an interview with writer and artist Nuno Neves who is a very creative guy and a member of the Lisbon Writers Meetup group. He’s has written a number of books, recorded music which is on Spotify and Apple Music, and is currently working on a graphic novel. Due to nearby construction noise at my apartment, we decided to record the interview in a local park so there are city noises in the background and the audio quality is a little lower than usual. Posted  30 Nov 2021 My guest today is Laura Lukitsch a filmmaker, podcaster and writer who has made a number of documentaries, has a long running podcast and has created art installations and other creative projects. She is also writing a number of  books. She lived in San Francisco before moving to Berlin several years ago.

Posted 27 Nov 2021 Today my guest is Chris Ward, who describes himself as a “Technical Communicator” and we’ll discuss that later.  He played in a band in the early 2000s, and he has also moved around the world a lot and worked in many areas, always finding interesting work to do. He’s a podcaster, video maker, a games enthusiast, and a technical writer. Chris talks about his life in the “Art Brut” band in the early 2000s and more recently his life in Australia and currently Berlin.

He has recently written a book called Mundane Stories which in partially autobiographical. This podcast follows his journey and the inspiration to write a book.
