113. Are You Serving Your Spouse—Or Keeping Score?
2026/09/07
Has your marriage quietly become a scoreboard? Jesus said He “did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45, NKJV). In this episode, we’re talking about what happens when husbands and wives replace “What are you doing for me?” with a different question: “How can I serve you?” Learn the practical SERVE rhythm you can begin using in your marriage today. 📖 Mark 10:45 | Philippians 2:7–8 | Titus 2:14 #StrongerTogether #ChristianMarriage #BiblicalMarriage #MarriageAdvice #ServantHeart #ChristCenteredMarriage #MarriageMinistry #Mark1045 #ChristianCouples If you desire to deepen your prayer life, we invite you to access our 52-Week Marriage Prayer Guide. Simply follow the link provided in our show notes to connect with our prayer community and Sign Up Today.
112. You Say You Respect Him… But Do Your Actions Show It?
2026/08/30
Sister, you may genuinely love your husband or potential mate —but do your words, tone, and actions communicate respect? We are getting practical about Ephesians 5:33: disagreement without disrespect, the power of your words, protecting your husband’s name, listening without losing your voice, and putting respect into action. #StrongerTogether #ChristianMarriage #BiblicalMarriage #MarriageAdvice #ChristianWife #MarriageCommunication #Ephesians5 #LoveAndRespect #MarriageMinistry If you desire to deepen your prayer life, we invite you to access our 52-Week Marriage Prayer Guide. Simply follow the link provided in our show notes to connect with our prayer community and Sign Up Today.
111. You Provide Everything… So Why Does She Still Need More?
2026/08/23
Men, you work. You provide. You handle your responsibilities. You love your wife or potential mate. But here's the question: How does she experience your love? Ephesians 5:25 does not simply command husbands to love. It gives us the standard—Christ, who gave Himself. In this episode of Stronger Together Closer to God, we are challenging husbands—and men preparing for marriage—to look beyond what our hands provide and examine how we're giving our wives our presence, affection, attention, service, and heart. We will talk about what it means to nourish and cherish, why unresolved wounds can show up in marriage, and why sacrificial love sometimes looks as simple as picking up the towel and serving. This week, remember three words: Give. Serve. Check. Because: Christlike love does not just provide something for your wife—it gives your wife you. 110. Mutual Submission: Who Goes First?
2026/08/16
Does mutual submission mean one spouse loses their voice—or does it invite both spouses to surrender their pride to Christ? Minister Vernon explores Ephesians 5, Christlike leadership, healthy disagreement, and five practical tools for choosing honor over winning. The episode concludes with the seven-day “Who Goes First?” Challenge. Featured Scriptures include Ephesians 5:18–33, Philippians 2:3–8, Galatians 5:22–26, Mark 10:42–45, and Romans 12:10. #ChristianMarriage #ChristCenteredMarriage #MarriagePodcast #BiblicalMarriage #MarriageAdvice #MutualSubmission #ChristianCouples #MarriageCommunication #HealthyMarriage #StrongerTogetherCloserToGod If you desire to deepen your prayer life, we invite you to access our 52-Week Marriage Prayer Guide. Simply follow the link provided in our show notes to connect with our prayer community and Sign Up Today.
109. Words of Gratitude -- What Familiarity Makes Us Overlook
2026/07/29
Why do we notice the one time our spouse doesn’t do something faster than the hundred times they did? The breakfast, morning kiss, daily text, prayer, household task, or simple act of care that once meant so much can gradually become familiar. Appreciation becomes expectation, and we may stop recognizing the love behind what our spouse faithfully does. In Episode 109 of Stronger Together, Closer to God, Vernon shares a personal experience involving his wife’s Sunday breakfast tradition—and how he learned that he was seeing breakfast while she was expressing love, service, sacrifice, and family legacy. Grounded in Colossians 3:15–17, this episode explores how Christ’s peace changes the posture of our hearts so gratitude can help us notice and express the appreciation familiarity has taught us to overlook. You’ll also receive practical tools for encouraging your spouse, recognizing how they communicate love, examining your tone through the “Jesus-name check,” and completing a seven-day gratitude challenge. Relationship Reflection: What does your spouse do so regularly that you’ve stopped seeing the love behind it? Gratitude does not require overlooking mistreatment, harmful behavior, or necessary boundaries. It invites us to recognize and express appreciation for the genuine love, sacrifice, and service we may have begun taking for granted. Primary Scripture: Colossians 3:15–17 Supporting Scriptures: John 14:27; Philippians 1:3–5; 1 Thessalonians 5:11, 16–18 Let Christ’s peace rule your heart so gratitude can reopen your eyes to the person you’ve grown accustomed to loving. #WordsOfGratitude #GratitudeInMarriage #AppreciateYourSpouse #ChristianMarriage #ChristCenteredMarriage #MarriageEncouragement #BiblicalMarriage #RelationshipGrowth #CouplesInChrist #Colossians3 #BuildEachOtherUp #SevenDayGratitudeChallenge #StrongerTogetherCloserToGod If you desire to deepen your prayer life, we invite you to access our 52-Week Marriage Prayer Guide.
