Voice Activation Exercises

5-Minute Voice Activation: Warm-Up for Clarity & Confidence with Jennifer Henczel
Your message deserves to be heard clearly and confidently. In this episode, Jennifer Henczel guides you through a simple five-minute voice activation warm-up to prepare for hosting a podcast, appearing as a guest, recording a video, or delivering a presentation.
Voice activation exercises combine intentional breathing, gentle vocal sounds, and articulation practice to help you ease into speaking, bring attention to your delivery, and express yourself with greater intention.
Please like, subscribe and save this audio or video to repeat when needed.
Try these exercises along with Jennifer. Follow along at your own comfortable pace—perfection isn’t the goal; getting ready to share your message is:
- Diaphragmatic breathing: Relax your jaw, breathe in for four counts, and breathe out for six. Repeat three times.
- Lip trills: Gently blow air through relaxed lips, allowing them to vibrate. Try five in a row.
- Tongue trills: Practice a gentle rolling sound with your tongue, keeping the movement easy and relaxed.
- Tongue stretches: Gently stretch and move your tongue as part of your articulation warm-up.
- Vowel practice: Slowly say “A, E, I, O, U,” exaggerating your mouth movements.
- “Red leather, yellow leather”: Repeat five times, focusing on clarity rather than speed.
- “Unique New York”: Repeat five times, giving each word its full expression.
Save this episode and return to it before your next recording or speaking opportunity. Pair it with Powerful Voice Activation Affirmations for Podcasters for an extra moment of encouragement.

Get Speaking Gigs Now
2026/02/10
Turn every speaking opportunity into a magnet for ideal clients.
If you don’t know how to get more speaking gigs, if your speaking isn't making you any money, if you’re not able to attract your ideal clients effectively, or if you’re not speaking your true message and need help with that, this episode is the solution. Stop chasing clients and start attracting them from the stage.
In this episode, Jennifer Henczel sits down with Lisa Reid, author, speaker, and founder of Get Speaking Gigs Now, to discuss how to transform speaking into a powerful marketing and sales engine. Lisa shares her incredible journey—from booking 83 speaking engagements in her first year to building a global network—and explains why you don't need a massive email list or complex tech to start generating revenue from the stage. Whether you are a podcaster looking to monetize your message or an entrepreneur wanting to reach a more targeted audience, Lisa provides the roadmap to getting "ready to rock" your next talk.
Episode Highlights:
The Power of Volume: Lisa booked 83 speaking gigs in her first year and now maintains a consistent schedule of 40 gigs annually without any cold outreach.Rock your talk: Successful speaking begins with a talk that is intentionally aligned with your business goals, a clear call to action, and a message you are "madly in love with".Monetization Strategies: Beyond the traditional "paid keynote," speakers can often find higher returns on "free" or "waived fee" stages by offering their own programs, masterminds, or coaching services.Identifying Your Ideal Stage: Success is found by narrowing your focus; instead of speaking to "anyone, anywhere," find specific professional associations or niches where your ideal clients already hang out.Podcasting as a Stage: The strategies used for physical stages apply directly to podcasting, allowing hosts to treat their show as a platform for invitation and conversion.Hallway Conversations: At events like trade shows, the real value often happens through the networking and "hallway conversations" that occur after the presentation.

The more spotlights we shine on women’s stories, the better. That’s why today, I want to chat about embracing every opportunity to lift each other up and shine even brighter—together. And one powerful way we do that is through awards.
Honoring women’s voices isn’t something we can overdo—there’s always room for more. We all rise when we celebrate each other’s voices—and I’m here for all of it. Awards are one way we do that. I'm talking about Podcast Awards, Business Awards, and awards from whatever niche you're in.
The world needs more moments that honor women’s words, wisdom, and worth. Every time we celebrate a woman’s voice, we make space for more power, more truth, more change. There’s always room for more love and more light on women’s stories.
I welcome every opportunity to elevate women’s voices, globally and in the podcasting space. So yes, I’m all in when it comes to awards. In my world, celebrating women’s voices isn’t optional—it’s essential. So let’s lean in to every opportunity to celebrate each other.
With all that in mind, today, I want to share 3 aspects on this topic of Awards, with you...
